“I have been to sushi restaurants all over America, in some of the wealthiest places to live, vacation, and dine. There used to be some OK places in greater Harrisburg that were passable, then practically all went to pot -- or else my standards increased. I tried a new place in Camp Hill tonight that looked great, with great reviews. Uggh--I will never go back. Sushi Express, on the other hand, NEVER disappoints. Don't be fooled by the generic name, or because this is a kiosk-type restaurant that is an island in a mall, or because it's in the food court. I have eaten here 100+ times. This is, hands-down, the place I look most forward to to get sushi. Fancy? No. Elegant? No. Crazy wild rolls that dress like peacocks, but are all sauce and circumstance, no substance? No. This is for serious sushi eaters who want fish that is the freshest every time, is always great tasting, and with an experienced, personable owner who is funny and you like to see. I also am really thankful for how their menu is organized! It makes it easy to order sushi rolls based on whether they're cooked or raw. New favorite spot!“

The female waitress with glasses was really attentive and kind.

I also appreciate that the to-go containers are microwave safe.

While we were talking at our table, a staff member was playing a movie with the volume up, which was a bit disruptive. Otherwise was a very nice experience.

“We recently visited Taste of Japan on a Saturday afternoon around 3:30 PM and were honestly surprised to find a wait but after dining, we completely understood why! The estimated 30-minute wait flew by, and the experience was well worth it. The hibachi buffet was fantastic, offering fresh ingredients along with some unique options you don’t typically see. The sushi selection and hot bar were both well stocked and absolutely delicious. One of our favorite parts was being able to take individual pieces, which made it easy (and fun!) to try new things we might not normally order. We also loved that all the sauces were conveniently available at the end of the buffet so you could customize everything to your taste. The dessert bar could easily be the star of the show. They offered individual ice cream cups in multiple flavors, novelty ice cream treats, and a variety of bite-sized desserts cakes, puddings, brownies, and more perfectly portioned so you could sample several without feeling overdone. They also had a salads with ginger dressing that we unfortunately missed at first since it was located in the dessert case area, but we’ll definitely remember that for our next visit! The staff was polite, attentive, and quick throughout our time there, which made the experience even better. Overall, a great dining experience, and we can absolutely see why it’s such a popular spot. We’re already looking forward to going back!“

“Stopped here for Hibachi at my sons request. We had never been here before but we're in the area and it was close to us. We are so happy we stopped in! By far the best Hibachi and Sushi we have had in a long time! We will definitely come back, and make the drive to eat there again! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! And not only was the food given the rating of an 11 by my son. Everyone was nice, attentive, and gave us awesome service!!“

“I visited the Harrisburg, PA location with family members on 3/11/2026. The food was excellent and the atmosphere is fun loving. It was mid week so we were seated rather quickly. I hear the wait times can be long on the weekends. My only problem is that I never received my loyalty rewards program points after the visit. After contacting Shinjuku Station (3) separate ways, by phone to the specific location and speaking to the Assistant Manager Allen and by FB Messenger to the specific location and by a secure message on the corporate website. Several days have gone by and the points still have not been added to my loyalty rewards profile. I have provided all of the necessary documentation for this to be taken care of. The wait staff needs better training on how to ensure guests receive credit for their dining visits) or abandon the loyalty program if you don't know how to administer it properly.“

“We love this restaurant for so many reasons! The servers and staff go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and they are willing to make accommodations here and there so you get exactly what you like. We have been here so many times for hot pot, sushi, hibachi and BBQ, there are so many options to chose from and they have a full bar too. There are different sections, but mostly we sit on the hot pot side and we get to see the hibachi shows, we sat there a few times as well. The chefs are so funny and put on an exciting show with delicious outcome. I love the sauce bar where you can mix your own from fresh ingredients. Pro tip, ask for the kimchi its really delicious here. Mikado is literally a staple restaurant for us and we keep coming back! There is ample parking in the back. Prices are reasonable for huge servings. Some times there is a wait for the hibachi side, but we always get prompt seating for the hot pot and BBQ. There are vegetarian and seafood options here. lots of meat as well.“

“I’m usually not one to write reviews but hopefully this will save someone time. We came on a Sunday, around 5pm and were only the 2nd family dining in the sushi bar area. It took about 30 minutes just to get one plate of sashimi. Our 2nd sushi roll took about 10 more minutes to come out and then by the time the 3rd roll was ready, our waiter was outside smoking and it just sat there until he finished his smoke break. We were given one napkin and had to ask for chopsticks. To say we were disappointed is an understatement.“
