Home cooked seasonal food - mint tea - cucumber salad and brown butter noodles that bought back memories. And my partners favorite - scrapple squares ! Appreciate the variety of side dishes. Not to mention the pies - blueberry custard to die for. Always good food and personable servers. Love the place .

This place is a gem! Hubs and I watched several You Tube videos about the space and chef/owner before making our reservation. We were impressed by the authentic decor in the dining room. Several paintings are considered historic! As is the space itself. Tables were dressed minimally which added to it's rustic charm and character. We truly appreciated this intimate atmosphere to try numerous authentic PA Dutch dishes. Much nicer than a smorgasbord environment (IMO) because our attentive server was able to give details about the dishes that allowed us to appreciate them even more.
The menu offers almost every specialty dish that the PA Dutch are known for. We were excited to be able to try so many authentic dishes and the cuisine was all amazingly flavorful! And the portions were heavy! We took home lots of leftovers, lucky us! Our service was personable and pleasant and the meals were reasonably priced. Especially, for the portion sizes.
My tip is to save room for Shoofly pie. Go ahead and let them warm it up then top it with ice cream and whipped cream. As if the pie isn't delicious enough on it's own, haha!
Thank you to the owner (and his family) for keeping the spirit and culture alive. It was easy to see the effort and care that they have spent in creating a wonderful space and menu. It was a real treat to dine here. Enjoy!

Called for a reservation at 4:00pm for a 6:30 table for two on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and they said no problem. They were very busy when we arrived 15 minutes early but cheerfully seated us instantly. Nothing fancy about the food just good solid old fashioned Pa Dutch. Peach pie a la mode for dessert. Family business that takes care of their business. Friendly, cheerful and welcoming. We’ll be visiting at least once a year in the future.

Food service everything was wonderful!
Walking in was an instant hit of atmosphere and a place where home made Pennsylvania Dutch cooking is the “main thrust” of this quaint, but busy restaurant! I had the best scrapple ever with the potato filling with shoe fly pie as a take home dessert, since the meal was so filling. This is a restaurant that is not afraid to feed you and feed you well with “wonderful good” food. We will be going back!
