It's a dive in downtown, but it's also an institution. We did breakfast and must have caught them on an off day but the whole experience was....unique?

Very slow service due to one waitress being ridiculously overworked! So sad. It was a visit to a hopefilully wonderful old memory of over 50 years ago. Waitress was wonderful for doing the best that she could. Oh. How the prices changed for the same food. Understandably! But, a let down on memory lane.

This is a small restaurant that says was opened in 1929. It appears it has not been updated since. Their specialty it seems is hotdogs. We didn't order those. The one waitress was busy with customers and was responsible for fixing the hotdogs. Our sandwichs were waiting at the kitchen window while she fixed hotdogs. Our French fries didn't arrive until after we had already eaten our sandwiches. The fresh cut french fries were delicious. The waitress hustled and did the best she could.

I crave their famous hot dogs with everything and a bowl of rice pudding with milk and plenty of cinnamon sugar. We have been coming here as a family for decades, and while the food is always on par, the waitstaff is not usually. If you are looking for a friendly and upbeat place to grab a quick lunch, this is not your establishment. If you want some great hotdogs that ate always the same- this IS your place.Pro tip: their French fries and gravy pair perfectly with hot dogs and rice pudding. They have a full menu with plenty of options, but I literally never look at a menu.if you aren't the hotdogs type, you still have more to choose from; salads, burgers, sandwiches, sides, and meals are plentiful. When I travel into town and it is lunch time- this is usually my first choice.

It's like stepping back into 1945. Little hot dog shop. Rice pudding is one of there specialties. A bit dingy but that just makes it nostalgic.

It is a shame my wife came here as a young girl with her grandparents. We visit once a year when we come back to town . Today was more than likely our last time . The service was so poor . Three groups arrived after us and were served before us. Hot dogs were not fried on griddle as in the past. Our meal was delivered to us in stages. Sorry this iconic restaurant has deteriorated in this manner.

I recently went here with my best friend. I hadn't been here for many years. We got hot dogs and fries. The dogs were great and the french fries were delicious. The waitress was personable and friendly.

Had the hotdogs and rice pudding. Nostalgic little diner with friendly staff and good food for a reasonable price. Wish we still had one like this in our hometown.
