The food was very good. The waitress was sweet. The prices, though, can be steep.
A cute modern rustic diner. Their food is really really good. Their service is polite and friendly. I will definitely be back!
Impressed with place, atmosphere and food ( we were in cellar for wedding rehearsal dinner)
The kitchen is a beloved Ligonier restaurant. Charming atmosphere and friendly service are two of its many qualities. Try the Lobster ravioli, the salmon Caesar and the burger - specifically! They make great cocktails, and also have fun specials. And there is a lovely little market attached with wine, and different gourmet products for purchase. We love The Kitchen!
First time visit today- sort a weird vibe from top to bottom. Went because we had a gift card.
This review is all in the setting of the dinner prices which average ~$18 for an appetizer, $28 for my vegetarian pasta dish, etc. The below criticisms would be more acceptable in a less expensive restaurant. Overall I feel like their menu and overall service/atmosphere/prices do not match.
1) atmosphere: a general “life/laugh/love style vibe on the walls does not match with the (very cool) open kitchen concept and, again, the menu prices.
We arrived at 3:55pm and were given menus for breakfast (done at 3p) and lunch. We asked for the dinner menu and the waitress had to check with the kitchen that they were ready for dinner service… that starts at 4p…
I’m not sure if coffee creamers, ketchup, hot sauce stay on the tables for dinner service all the time, but they were there for ours. Napkins were (heavy duty) paper. Again, none of these are a problem in and of themselves, but for an $18 appetizer I don’t expect to have coffee creamers sitting in a caddy on my table for dinner service. Feels very diner. Appropriate for breakfast service, but I think they should be removed in the evening.
We were also never given a specials menu or had the specials discussed with us, despite seeing the menu on the way out the door and hearing our waitress discuss the specials with another table.
2) Service: our waitress was friendly, but not particularly efficient for having an average of 2 tables at a time during our stay. We asked for waters but were only brought water glasses for the two adults and had to ask for a water glasses for our child. Our child was also never given a set of silverware/napkin and the waitress did not come around in a timely enough manner for us to ask for more so we had to ask the hostess to get some.
3) food: acceptable, but nothing particularly spectacular (again, for the price.) We got the Asiago dip appetizer, which just generally did not have as much flavor as I would have expected, though that may be my personal palate. It comes with *delicious* crostini, however.
My husband got the burger, which he said was very good and came with delicious battered steak fries.
I got the sundried tomato pasta, which, again $28 for a vegetarian pasta… was underwhelming. It was served with penne, which I felt was an odd choice with spinach and red peppers. I think it would have seemed much more elegant (and yummier) with angel hair. Just felt mid-tier.
Overall, feels like a very mid tier place that is trying (but not succeeding) to higher aspirations.
We *may* try again for breakfast, but would not return for dinner.
Very nice food!
very fresh food
We enjoyed our brunch so much that we returned later for supper. I suggest making dinner reservations, especially on a weekend, but we walked in and were seated at the counter with a view of the bustling kitchen. Great cocktails, many of them with a twist; excellent food; and top-notch service. Definitely one of the highlights of our stay in Ligonier.
We had the Maple salmon, Lobster ravioli and Roasted chicken. The crispy Brussels sprouts was a great starter. Our waiter, Eli, couldn’t have been friendlier and helped with excellent recommendations. Definitely recommend as a great place to have a great meal with exceptional service.
Homophobic. My wife and I were turned away at the door by the host that said "we can't take any more people" with open tables clearly visible.

I love the open kitchen concept in this establishment. The overall quiet vibe, even when the cooks are busy was so intriguing. The menu items are very diverse. We had the slow cooked short rib, Brussel sprouts, and their roasted chicken sandwich. Every item I would order again. The server was so attentive and friendly! Will be back!

This place is a great value! We stopped after a day hike for an early dinner. Cocktails were delicious and boozy. We had the Nan and dip as an app while we waited for our entrees and it was very tasty. I had the steak special and the seasoning and temp were perfect. Save room for desert. Dinner for two, an app, three cocktails and desert for $150. The new executive chef has it figured out.

Natalie & Mindy made our BadChoicesCrew weekend getaway amazing! This is the place for our morning breakfast & cocktails while away! The counter is the best spot to watch the magic!

First time there, although, not far from ligonier. A classmate of mine after 46 years getting together, met here, because it was 1/2 way driving. Prior to myself agreeing to meet at THE KITCHEN LIGONIER PA, I looked up their options of their menu. All looked great until I arrived about 20 minutes earlier. As the server said, oh, I'm sorry we no longer serve Reubens, we no longer serve this and that. I said, "I chose this restaurant for various reasons, I'm highly disappointed". My classmate arrived and we were seated, granted, nice seating, however, server seemed non-Professional. Non the less, I ordered salad with additional cost to add grilled chicken, no worries, and 1had a glass of chardonnay I my friend a coffee, she had pancakes and additional side order of small grilled ham, and I mean small. Bottle line, will never go to The Kitchen Cafe, LIGONIER Pa again. Folks, for what we had, $83.36, plus cash $20.00 tip. Way over priced. Sadly, older folks, have some cash, you all better learn your lessons. Will NEVER VISIT YOU AGAIN

One of the best meals that I have had in a while. Compliments to the chef! I had the salmon and risotto and subbed the brussels in place of the beans and it was all excellent! Hubby had the burger which was also very good. Would highly recommend.
