After doing some research I decided to do a taste test between Sturgis and Uncle Jerry's. Both are excellent hard pretzels. I found Sturgis pretzels to be the most flavorful. I also like the fact their not as tooth-breaking hard. However, I prefer UJ because of the salt. I found your pretzels did not have enough salt. Therefore, I keep both on hand depending on the mood I'm in. Obviously, I have far too much time on my hands.
This was the first pretzel factory in the United States. The tour was excellent and even had fun things for children to participate, like making a pretzel out of dough, and using the board to move pretzels from the dough rolling and twisting table. I highly recommend this tour for the whole family.
Tour guide was funny, interesting, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and friendly. Tour is $6 an adult. I learned a lot about pretzel making. Rolling and twisting your own pretzel was fun. Also learned the story behind the shape of the pretzel. Received a free individual bag of hard pretzels at the end of the tour. Great gift shop, with reasonable prices.
