What the restaurant lacks the ice cream shop makes up for. Great fresh from the creamery ice cream and a great selection of flavors, sundaes, shakes,blizzards, etc. The whoopie pie sundae is something to behold. The seating area/deck area and party room for the kids is super cool too.

When they say this is the Milkhouse at Oregon Dairy, they aren't kidding. When you order from the outside counter and enjoy your treats outside you can see the dairy from right where you are (and likely smell it too, haha). Do note, the outdoor counter is seasonal and closes during the winter so if enjoying your ice cream outdoors is your thing, plan your visit accordingly. However, definitely come by in the fall during peak fall foliage as you can get some nice views of the dairy in autumn.
The outdoor seating area when I was there was nice and clean and plenty of shade for guests. Other than that, it's like those old-time ice cream stands you walk right up to the window from outside and order/receive your ice cream.
I rated the food at four stars, but that is likely due to my choice of item being a milkshake made from hand-dipped ice cream more than the quality of the ice cream. The cookies and cream shake I had was really tasty but was a little thin for my preference since it was made from hand-dipped ice cream. But the other items I saw looked really good and they have a nice variety of flavors and treats to go around. I certainly would like to give them another try next summer and try a waffle cone or a sundae.
Again, don't be discouraged from my choice of dish as the outside counter at the milkhouse is a great experience to enjoy some ice cream during the warmer months with the dairy in view and great scenery.

Best strawberry sundae with hot fudge whipped cream & cherry on top I've had..the burst of creamy strawberry icecream is incredible and the fudge takes it to a whole other delicious direction..? super

The ice cream was incredible! Very rich and creamy. It's definitely worth going out of your way for. I will return the next time in the area.

The ice cream was delicious! So many flavors to pick from. Plenty of outdoor and covered seating available and for large parties. We were a party of 8 and all sat at one round table. Ice cream came out quickly. The nittany paws was my favorite. The Cookie Monster Oreo and cookie dough was good but the ice cream itself didn’t have much flavor. The cookies and cream was real good. Prices were reasonable and large portions. You only need a small size really for a good amount. Animals and playground right outside.

Ice-cream flavor and area is great

I’ve shopped at Oregon dairy a few times and decided I wanted to try the ice cream today…and I couldn’t. I went to the window, and made eye contact with a few of the employees, and they never opened the window or even came to it to take my order. And I was the only one there! There was even a guy who came right to the window and ignored me while he replaced the receipt paper. Super rude. I stood there for a good 10 minutes and even walked in both doors beside the window to see if I had to order somewhere else besides the window before I got frustrated and gave up. Not the kind of behavior I would’ve expected from Oregon Dairy
