I blew in to Lock Haven in the snow&ice storm of the year, cold wet from stopping to get gas, this is the only place I could find. Very nice owners trying to make the Fallon Hotel what it was in the 1800-1982. I did love the nostalgic feel of the place. The only thing, it’s going to take a lot of hard work & lots of money to make their dreams come true I’m afraid! God Love Those two lovely people, I wish them all the luck in the world.
We stayed one night on January 17 at the Historic Fallon Hotel and it was, unfortunately, one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had.
When we arrived, there was no one at the front desk. We rang the bell multiple times with no response and had to call the hotel twice before someone came to check us in. The check-in process was also delayed due to a “technical issue,” which made for a long and frustrating start to our stay.
The hotel’s advertising mentions “breathtaking views,” but our room overlooked the restaurant roof and other visibly deteriorating parts of the building. The room itself did not match the description of “beautiful rooms.” The wood trim appeared to be made from scrap pieces, the towels were stored in a basket on the floor, the window had visible gaps where it had not been properly sealed, and the shower took a very long time to get hot and then dripped loudly throughout the entire night.
The biggest issue was the noise. The music from the restaurant below, along with very loud patrons, continued until 4:00 AM. The voices were so clear and loud it sounded as if people were inside our room. We were unable to sleep.
The following morning, there was again no one at the front desk when we checked out. We had hoped to speak with someone in person about the experience but could not wait due to a prior appointment.
We understand that this is an older, historic building, but that does not excuse the lack of basic guest service, excessive noise, and poor room condition—especially at the premium price we were charged for the night.
We were thoroughly disappointed and would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay.
Nice place to eat, drink and stay over.
Honestly, If I could put zero stars I would. I was booked to stay at The Historic Fallon Hotel this weekend Friday, October 10th - Sunday October 12th. The only thing historic about this hotel maybe the mold and mildew that is growing in this place. On our way up we called to see if they offered early check in and the answer was of course for $50.00 really! Like I didn't spend enough money on this dump as it is. So my husband and I decided to fore go the $50.00 and go see our son first. We arrived back at the Historic Fallon after 9:00PM to check in was asked to put a credit card on file, but couldn't use my Apple card had to hand over the numbers for my Apple card because there was no machine to put the card into. The card had to manually be typed in little weird that the woman made a comment about my credit limit. NO WORRIES. I CHANGED the card number. The woman handed us the keys and proceed to walk us to the room. In the hallway were gray bins blocking part of the pathway and right at the end of the hallway was a plastic tarp saying DO NOT ENTER under renovation. and right there my room.
Nothing like pictured. Would love to see those rooms. Toilet paper sitting on top of the back of the toilet, sink rusted, mold in the shower, space heater in the bedroom providing heat. The closet had hangers with hangers hanging on two hooks and hangers on the floor. A carpet tack strip. A huge gap under the door. A bee in the room which I am allergic too. A night club/bar playing music and partying until after 1:00AM outside the room. The room smelled like mold and mildew. My husband and I woke up and left the next morning because we did not want to stay there a second longer. Policy no refund is ridiculous. You should be ashamed of yourself. You rob people of their money. You falsely advertise what your establishment looks like. Put the real pictures of your rooms up.
As a LHU alum I was truly looking forward to staying here. I went online and booked the Cabin Suite for one night. My payment was processed and I was charged $200 for the reservation. The funds were taken out of my account. Shortly after I was sent an email stating that my reservation had been cancelled. When I called the hotel for clarification, they told me that they had no availability and that the reservation was made in error. Now I have no reservation, no funds, and no occupancy anywhere else comparable. If you have no more rooms available than you should not take funds. Be better.
After booking I asked a polite question about the property, didn’t get a response and my reservation was canceled without my authorization. The hotel refused to reinstate the booking, and I had to get a refund through Expedia. highly recommend reading all reviews before booking
Woke up with bites ALL over to realize their was bedbugs!!! So many bed bugs, management didn’t do ANYTHING to help me! Do not book here, I’ve been dealing with these bugs for weeks!!!
I loved the comfy bed, the size of the room and the helpfulness of the proprietor. However, the lack of air conditioning (in August) and windows that didnt open made my stay and attempted sleep, quite uncomfortable. I was at the front of the hotel so the street lights made it like daytime with the sheer curtains.
I would have wished for a coffee maker, black out curtains, a small fridge and AIR CONDITIONING!
This is a night club with a few hotel rooms. The bed was great but the rest of the room was mediocre at best. I had to shut the bathroom door because of the smell of sewage. And i had to tighten the screws on the deadbolt because it was about to fall off. The bar is open till 4am and it was definitely loud in our room until then. I definitely would not take kids here. There's also been $200 pending charge on my credit card for 5 days from this place.
Clean room, Comfy bed, hot water, great location right on the Susquehanna. Owner was super nice drinks were super cold.. I recommend this hotel.
Restaurantji Recommends
Family orientated family atmosphere, nice place to visit.
I will go back
We stayed at the Fallon because all the other hotels were booked. What a bad decision. We got a cabin room that was only 10 x 10 and absolutely filthy. The bathroom door could not be closed because the bed was in the way. There was a bunch of debris on the floor of the shower and dead bugs in the closet! This room should not have been offered to anyone.
I should say however, the bed was clean and comfortable, the bath linens were clean and fresh and the owner was very nice.
My room was clean. There is a bar/club downstairs so you will probably hear some noise. I popped my noise cancelling headset on and was fine. The building is from the 1850s so the rooms are older. All appointments (furniture, bedding, shower curtain and drapery) appear new.
So booked this place the picture are not what it is this place is trying to be a club more than a hotel for sure . So the bartenders are also charging different prices for drinks got 2 captain and Cokes cash was 20 but then paused with my card and paid 16 on my card so something going on sound very shady business for sure just beware people before booking ! Talk to management and they helped out! Thanks
