“Broken Axe Brew Pub has the atmosphere of the old neighborhood, corner bar/tavern. You can tell they pay homage to the blue-collar origins of Lock Haven with the decor throughout. Service is great, Meghan was very friendly and was able to make great spirits recommendations for our cocktails. Food was great! Apple Pie Creme Brulee for dessert was delicious! If you find yourself in downtown Lock Haven some evening, I'd recommend checking out Broken Axe Brew House.Vegetarian options: Their menu has a reasonable amount of options for vegetarian dining.”
“I've had the hoagies a few times and know they are delicious but my son just said to me that he thinks it's the best turkey sandwich he has ever had! Would recommend to anyone!”
“FYI - this is NOT a diner, although it INCLUDES a diner. This is a piece of PA Wilds HISTORY!! I’ve been coming here for most of my life, and I always looked forward to the experience! It’s included a number of different products and services over the years, but the Trading Post was always the main attraction for me, and I’m DELIGHTED that the new owners have brought it back from the dead, and are operating it in the same spirit I remember as a kid! Like any good trading post, you’ll find a variety of items from the extremely practical to extraordinarily quirky! Local arts, antiques, hunting and fishing supplies, canned goods, ice cream, souvenirs, and a great place to just sit and relax by the fireplace. It’s just good fun stopping here - I hope I’m able to do so for the next 50 years as well!!”
“"A mountain oasis"! Stopped here for lunch after a morning at Hyner View SP.Dogs permitted (w/ leash) on the patio (weekdays)... Fast & friendly service... Cold beer & tasty cheeseburgers w/ fries!”
“This is very much a hidden gem in the area! The atmosphere is great and the dining room was nice and comfortable on the cold day I visited. I was part of a pretty good sized group and the waitress was attentive, punctual and friendly! The food came out in a very timely manner. Our group had appetizers of fried green tomatoes, wings, nachos and the fries with bbq pork. The wings were mid, but all the other appetizers were great. I had the two meat platter with pork and brisket. The pork was great, but the brisket was tough and dry.I recommend the restaurant but I wouldn’t get the wings or the brisket again.”
“Came to visit lock haven from 50 miles away. Wanted good local burgers with my friend and this place delivered! The burger was amazing, and the owner and staff were beyond accommodating and friendly. Definitely will return when I'm back in the area!Parking: Lots of spaces on st next to Uncle Albert's. Depending on the time you go it's free or a meter may be required.”
“The pasta dishes we had were good. Service was a little lacking. Place had a tad smell. Bathrooms were clean.Dated and could look nicer.Couldn't help but notice (sme) the chef out back enjoying his marijuana right out of the door.”
“We went to Pearls Cafe for first time ... Got onion soup and winter crisp pear salad... The soup was fantastic...and the salad was just over the top ...We eat alot of salads but this was terrific...we can't wait to go again.. The atmosphere was great and the people made you feel at home...the desserts were amazing... I'm on a diet but we had to try a couple and so glad we did.We are both retired and on fixed budgets.. but the prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get.. If you want a new and refreshing place to eat definitely try Pearls Cafe you'll be glad you did...”
“Pizza King has THE best pizza. The customer service could be a bit friendlier. Overall the food quality outweighs the service. I would choose Pizza King every time.”
“The food was delicious! The service was great! The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars was that it was a bit chilly in the restaurant. I was there with a group. We all left very satisfied.”
“I've only taken out pizza,The plane and single topping pizzas are cheap at $14 but anything beyond that gets expensive fast example: I recently got two large pies one plain and one with olives, onions, peppers, shrooms, pepperoni. The plain was $14 and the other was $24 for a total of $38.With that being said, it was well worth it.”
“Good food nice peopleKid-friendliness: My kids like to move around a bit and not one person employee or customer was rude about itParking: Parking is off street and plenty of spaces”
“What an amazing place--incredible historic building, tasty beers with a full bar as well. The bartenders are the best, so warm and welcoming, great for a chat. I felt right at home. The family-run owners are bringing the place back to life, and it's fun to be part of the process. It is a work in progress and I can't wait to see how it unfolds. We went for drinks after dinner elsewhere and didn't realize they serve food too. I'd love to check them out for brunch.”
“Had brunch with friends. The brunch buffet was excellent the sticky buns are amazing. The omelet from the omelet station was delicious. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Returning soon!”
“I ordered a burger. I didn’t want one of the fancy ones they had on the menu with bacon, so they made one plainer the way I wanted it. It was a few dollars more, but it was the best burger I’ve had in years. Also I tried a Chambord Margarita which I’ve never had before. It wasn’t as sweet as I expected, but it was a serious margarita! I sat at the bar rather than a table. All of the staff and owner were really nice and I felt very comfortable eating out by myself. I am just passing through the area in my travels, but if I am ever back in the area this is the place I would come to eat.”
