FYI - this is NOT a diner, although it INCLUDES a diner. This is a piece of PA Wilds HISTORY!! I’ve been coming here for most of my life, and I always looked forward to the experience! It’s included a number of different products and services over the years, but the Trading Post was always the main attraction for me, and I’m DELIGHTED that the new owners have brought it back from the dead, and are operating it in the same spirit I remember as a kid! Like any good trading post, you’ll find a variety of items from the extremely practical to extraordinarily quirky! Local arts, antiques, hunting and fishing supplies, canned goods, ice cream, souvenirs, and a great place to just sit and relax by the fireplace. It’s just good fun stopping here - I hope I’m able to do so for the next 50 years as well!!

Always stop for breakfast when up the mountain and the whole family looks forward to it. Some days you may wait a little longer if they have tables ahead of you, but it's a smaller operation here. Super friendly staff as well. Thank you!

I have such fond memories of our summer visits to my Paps cabin, the Heckman Hunting Camp! And the trips to fin-fur- feather made is more special. Hoping to visit again someday.

Last time I was in the store the service was best to use a calendar vs a clock. The hours of service are limited. Certainly not convenient if your looking for an early start. Carefully watch expiration dates, and think carefully before settling in to eat a meal.

Our favorite place to stop on our way home after a stay at our favorite B&B. The two brothers are always friendly and the food is always good. The hostesses loves to sit and chat with you but if you don't have anything interesting to talk about he tens to just fall asleep..We ride miles to get to FFF and we're always happy we did..

A beautiful piece of wood with a deer stole my heart, really beautiful since I saw it, I only thought of nature as the generator of life.
Had a great breakfast with friends in the Black Bear diner.

After many attempts to have breakfast there… today was the straw that broke the camels back!!!!I got my breakfast then 20 minutes later my husband still didn’t have his!!! I was finished my breakfast and still no breakfast for him!!!!This is how this place works … you never eat at the same time!!!!Two brothers run this joint and they fight loud in the kitchen …. Foul language is loud from the kitchen..GO TO LOST ACRES .. it’s only a few miles down the road!!!!!

Never had a good experience here unfortunately. They're sign supporting communism says it all - "BLM". If that's for you, then you should go here. I think I'll leave it at that.
