Charming place with a large variety of choice for lunch at a reasonable price. There is plenty is space inside but also outside. Service is efficient and there is easy parking nearby. Recommended

The Yellow House cafe has gorgeous ambience for dining inside and outside. However, the menu is very limited if you're both gluten free and dairy free. There are cabinet food and a limited menu with no salads or vegetable dishes. I ordered a dish made up of the sides of guacamole, mushrooms and smoked chicken, but it was pretty bland. If Yellow House cafe could offer nice salads/vegetable dishes and have options for gf/df, it would make a perfect destination for the next time we visit Whanganui.

Top location & neat venue & good service, but sadly the food didn't match it. Was so disappointing, and especially given the prices. The scrambled egg component of that dish was small on a plate dominated by 3 pieces of bread. The added bacon was greasy, hard & luke warm. The BLAT was standard and again had far too much bread & chips to fill up the plate. Considered the cabinet food prior, but it was underwhelming. I gave them this feedback afterwards, but it wasn't that well received.

we eat here on a regular basis and really love it, but unfortunately today when we ordered the quinoa porridge , it was not good, very runny and unappetising, we asked the waitress to take it back which she was reluctant to do, she offered a refund or another meal to the same value, there really wasnt anything else at the same price so we ordered a portion of chips, I would have thought that in this situation they would have offered any item on the menu to replace the porridge at no extra cost, either you have an unhappy customer or you have a very happy customer, you know which one we are!!

We have been here for breakfast a few times now, and never been disappointed. The breakfast is great and so is the service. It’s gets very busy at the weekends.

Great atmosphere and food. However standard 20 minute wait for coffee and other hot drink unacceptable in anyone's book. CAFE is in the name! Get it together asap. You need a fulltime barrista during busy times.

Wonderful location out of the city centre but easy to get to. Beautiful seating options inside and out. Seating is broken up into many seperate areas so dining feels quiet and private. The decor and surrounds are lovely. Friendly service and great food.

Warm, friendly cafe. The food is absolutely delicious !!!! Full breakfast was the best I have eaten in a long time & the breakfast wrap I had to order another one. I totally recommend this cafe !!!!
As a 5 star Trip Adviser recipient & winner of 'Best Food, Service & ambience' for the whole of the Coromandel featured in Uk Aus NZ travelling mag in our first 6 months of business, despite a locals boycott, not long after being run out from our own town of Wanganui, despite creating 'the destination cafe' 'Vincents Yellow House Cafe' dubbed a phenomenon by our accountant Phil Lendrum & many others, the service we received from the Yellow House we created & then the Rutland Arms on the same weekend of 3rd March 2024 despite having all the odds stacked in their favour, left us speechless & when the likes of waitress/owner Jill Gilberston even threw out my half eaten meal during a pre-ordered set menu for 20 plus which had to be finalised by 8pm, what the hell can you say! Nothing has changed in this town, despite how hard some of us have tried to!

Great spot for a quick coffee and lunch. Menu was varied and plenty of space inside and out. The cafe is located over the top road from a park - so good options for the kids to run around before or after lunch. Homemade sausage roll and tomato relish was flavoursome and filling. Frittata also had a great balance of veg to egg ratio.

We stopped into the yellow house for coffee and a snack...we got raspberry custard tarts they were so amazing we would drive to whanganui for more !

Lovely setting in a gorgeous villa. We sat outside in the garden with our dogs in the sunshine. Lots of good choices and all the food was delicious. We enjoyed the peaceful vibe and the birdsong from the blossom trees. Service was friendly and helpful.
