Fantastic meal! Everything was cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. A very pleasurable experience! I strongly recommend trying it out and make sure you save room for dessert...

We recently hosted our rehearsal dinner at RHI, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience! From start to finish, their team was incredibly communicative and helpful in bringing our vision to life. We went with a "Till Death" theme, and the restaurant's atmosphere and decor fit perfectly with our dark, romantic vibe. The space was beautiful and just what we had envisioned for our celebration.
We had 25 guests, and the venue provided us with two servers, which was great, though we did feel that three servers—one for each table—would have made things even smoother. That said, everyone was incredibly attentive, and it didn’t take away from the experience. The food was absolutely fantastic, and our guests were raving about every dish. From the appetizers to the main course, everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
The overall vibe of the restaurant and the service were top-notch. It felt intimate yet lively, and our guests were able to relax and enjoy the evening. The team went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly, and we truly appreciated their attention to detail.
I highly recommend RHI for any special event. The food, the ambiance, and the service made our rehearsal dinner a night to remember.
I don’t know that I have the words to properly articulate how much Brunch this morning took me back to my Nana’s kitchen in Indiana. Angie and team, you guys rock! Food was filling and full of flavor! Do yourself the favor of visiting RRH soon!

Wedding was held there, service staff - TERRIBLE. Unfriendly, rude and inconsiderate. Would not recommend, ESPECIALLY for a wedding.

Such a great venue to have a wedding at.

My wedding experience with railroad house inn was less than stellar. Leading up to the day Lauren was super attentive answering questions via email, and when we sat down a month to the day concerns were addressed. We agreed on a timeline and layout, everything looked and sounded great. We did not opt to pay the additional money for the day of coordinator because the wedding was small and I was assured that I didn't need it and Lauren would make sure things started smoothly that morning. Well that day came when my husband arrived at 9:30 no one was around to even speak to until after 11am. When I arrived at 10am for my bridal suite, I was calling for someone and calling out Lauren's name making my way up to the bridal suite, where another lady came down saying she wasn't done and needed 20/30s mins. We didn't have that with my early wedding. We asked can we start hair and make up while you finish the room, she agreed but wasn't happy about it. making me feel as if I was a nuisance. There's a lot more details but I'm shortening it here. We lost about 30 mins of time for pictures and getting ready due to this and the room not being set up. She didn't fully clean it or wipe Down that we could see or even fill toilet paper in the bathroom. While this is going on another gentleman who works for RRI was asked a question by my Dj of where he could set up and was rudely told. I'm not your day of point of contact. Food arrived 15 minutes late. My aunt was trying to get me something to eat and was rudely snapped at that he or the woman would Dismiss us to get food and that we don't just start. I have a medical condition and just need something to help me. With my small guest count the food should have still been hot, for everyone and more than half my guests said their food was cold. They were also supposed to have food on the opposite end of the room so that me and my husband could eat without someone talking to us the whole time and instead the food line was right next to the sweetheart table. There were concerns prior to the wedding day of a few family members being cut off which they needed to be and my photographer was told no either everyone can drink or they should close the bar because they didn't see an issue with the family member in question, who later admitted they were very under the influence. The final straw for me is I had the rental from 9:30 to 7pm. They allowed 3 strangers to just walk Into the barn during my time. Yes we were ending but we were ending earlier. The lady told me oh I'm sorry I never thought they would just walk in. I felt like a nuisance the entire day and everything felt off. The setting was beautiful, everything else left a lot to be desired. I wish there was more communication day of. I also sent my concerns via email and have been ignored so now I'm writing about my experience. Many Brides had great weddings here but this was my experience. I was a 2020 court house bride and wanted a beautiful wedding. I had such high hope when I booked and then rebooked due to issues last fall.

We came away highly impressed with the Railroad House Inn. We were captivated by history and architecture of a building, so much originality it took you back in time. The pan seared salmon was phenomenal with a very generous portion. The flat iron steak with mushrooms, asparagus and potatoes was near rock star. The lady says it sets the standard! I can’t argue with that.

This review is for the restaurant. My husband and I dined here last evening and were very underwhelmed. We walked in and the hostess was sitting down on her laptop on the steps. Not very professional but she was nice when she helped us go out table. The table was nice and quiet and the atmosphere was pleasant. Our server was not terrific. After we got our entrees, we were never asked if our meal was good or if we needed anything. We got our meals and by the time we needed boxes, we still hadn’t seen our server. We were finished with our meal because we ran out of water and didn’t want to order another bottle since we waited so long. Additionally, our server was wearing shorts. What kind of nice restaurant allows that? The food was just O.K. My Salmon was fine but lacked a lot of flavor. I wish there were more green beans. My husband got the burger and it was so soggy that the bottom bun basically turned to paper. We were going to order dessert but after waiting so long for our waiter, we decided against it and got dessert somewhere else. This experience missed in so many areas, will not be back.

Dinner with good friends was very nice. A first time there for all 6 of us (3 couples) and picked solely on location to an event we were to attend after. Well, that plus the good reviews it had online. The restaurant didn’t disappoint as both the service, which was attentive though not annoyingly ever-present, and the food was wonderful. We ordered a good cross-section of the offerings and each person reported that theirs was very good. Great job there on Front St at the far north end!! We’ll certainly tell friends and be back ourselves?❤️

We were married here 24 years ago and went back on Saturday to celebrate. It didn’t disappoint. My husband made special arrangements to have wine and flowers on the table when we arrived and Lauren did phenomenal! The place is gorgeous, the food is delicious and the service was top notch!
Room #6 was super active!

I would give the Railroad House Inn 10/5 stars if I could. We had our wedding at the Inn, and from start to finish, it was a superb experience. Pricing is reasonable, the venue is romantic and quaint, and the food is fabulous. Above all, the staff at the Inn made the event a standout experience. Every single person we encountered was warm, sincere, and genuinely wanted us and our guests to have a good time. Several staff even told my husband and I how much they enjoyed working our wedding! My only regret is that I can't get married again, because I would choose the Inn over and over again.
A special shoutout to the event coordinator, Lauren, who is fabulous and made sure everything ran smoothly from planning to execution. Lauren strikes the perfect balance of being attentive and focused on details, while also being delightfully low-key and not overbearing at all. She is 100% worth hiring as a coordinator - the day of our wedding, she did everything from cutting fresh greenery for the tables to pinning the bustle under. my dress when the hook broke during cocktail hour. She even made sure my husband and I had hors d'oeuvres set aside for us while we were taking photos so that we could enjoy the food we'd picked out.
A quick side note - the rooms are a bit loud at night due to the trains that go by, but they do provide earplugs! Most guests used earplugs or noise-canceling headphones and experienced minimal interruption, but it may be worth mentioning to any guests sensitive to noise.
