“Originally from Carmichaels and live in Maryland now but come to our spring, summer and fall place often and found this gem!!! Pastries, pepperoni rolls and breakfast were all superb. The breakfast was also very good with homemade italian bread toasted (was AMAZING). They also deliver out of state. Their nut rolls and little lady fingers are delicious - actually everything I have had from there is delicious. Ordering for delivery for Thanksgiving. A must try!”

“It's my favorite place in Fayette County to get Chinese food. It's just a little hole in the wall restaurant. It's not a place to sit down and eat, although you can if you want to. It's mostly a take-out place. The food is always so good and the prices aren't too high. I couldn't recommend them more!”

“This was a favorite for my family as a little girl. I was disappointed because I was told the pizza did not change, but it was not at all what I grew up eating. The ingredients were very skimpy as well. Not even a tablespoon of cheese on a slice. Be honest with people and let them know you have changed how things used to be!”

“Watson Estate BnB & Deer Creek Winery was amazing! Between the food, staff/service, room, wine, views, etc. it was a beautiful experience! This was our first time at a BnB, so we did not know what to expect. To say the least, this place far exceeded our expectations! We loved the scenery and vibes that the courtyard and wrap around porch brought. The swing on the porch was our favorite part. Everything was lit up with twinkle lights and it was so romantic. We chose to stay during february, and the weather wasn’t bad, but we would love to come back during the summer/fall! Our only regret is not staying longer! We will definitely be back and will be bringing friends. Thanks for an awesome celebration for our 5.5 year dating anniversary! As two young, hardworking adults, this was the perfect escape from reality for a night. It truly makes a difference when the staff are so friendly and helpful. Thank you! -Jada”

“Love it when Darlene is working! She's the best!We were there last week and had a different bartender. I ordered a beer and it was room temperature. I said something to my son and one of the bartenders asked what was wrong. I handed her the beer can and told her it wasn't cold. She asked me if I wanted ice to put in my beer. I just drank it. Ice in beer???”

“Never been inside but i have them delivered. The food is ok, and they're very nice if they make mistakes. My only flaw i find is the cooking. The pizza dough are finished but the toppings are mostly raw. I ordered several pizzas and all were like that (except pepperoni). Had a Stromboli once and only the exterior was cooked. Inside everything was raw and doughy. I think the oven is too hot, or is their cooking style. I prefer the ingredients cooked though.But the people are extremely nice. Been a long time since I met any as nice. Also, the online menu needs updating.I wish they had pan pizza lol”

“This is a very homey local place with a rural charm you don't get in the city. Deserts are great, but I usually drive out of my way for the Buckwheat cakes in the AM. These are getting harder to find. Service has always been first rate and friendly.Parking: Large gravel lot.”

The place was really clean, the crowd was quiet respectful with a lot of family there. Everybody was hanging out and having a good time eating wings.”

“We pass this place all the time, but had never been. So, we checked it out for my birthday one night.. service is kinda slow, but she was doing her best, super friendly.. quite a few pool tables, they had a DJ and kerioke, we didn't get home until like 3:30am lol, it was a pretty good night.”

“Red Star is a small town bar that has been around since I was a kid, the owner (Serb) is a wonderful man who contributes to the community and is Highly respected in this Area, if anyone has had any problems here then it was your own doing, they are not rude and welcome everyone who walks in the door. If you did have a problem and didn't speak to the owner about it then shame on you, he would have handled the situation. Red Star is a bar to sit down and listen to the old timers talk about the old days, have a drink and yes, smoke a cigarette. We are a small coal mining town who still love the good old fashioned ways of life.”

He was generous with the wine tastings and gave us wonderful recommendations. Their wines are really good and affordable and have a shipping and online ordering option as well.
