“Actually I'm writing this review probably about 6 years late, but I keep thinking about this place.
I went here on a first date type of thing, didn't know him, neither of us knew the place. We were welcomed like family, the drinks were perfect and there was a guy playing sax in the other room for an optional cover. As someone who doesn't like live music because it is always too loud, the fact that it was optional was incredible to me. Now 6 years later, I'm eager to try this place again!“

“Really nice vibe for drinks, with some food that was even better than you’d expect! The atmosphere is nice and intimate, almost like a lounge. The featured cocktails were incredibly interesting, with many fun flavors that you don’t see anywhere else. Also loved the Mediterranean food options, everything was great, but especially loved the seasonal autumn pizza which you see being fired right in the front.

Overall would definitely recommend for cocktails and even a full meal!“

“Service is excellent the moment you walk in the hostess is super friendly and welcoming. Our waitress was very knowledgable and friendly. We were a group a few of us had the lobster roll, we also shared some appetizers (see photo), the calamari is amazing! They had a live band, and a singer playing in the background just the right volume to allow you to have a conversation and be entertained at the same time. I would certainly come back!“

“We went to the Velvet Terrace for trivia night and all loved this venue! The decor is so cute and the owner was so friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious as well. Highly recommend!“

“Wanted to make sure I wrote this review bc of my amazing experience. First, to get this out of the way… really cool vibe, great beers at great prices, and a great spot for local music. I went recently to see Sacred Monsters who were in town from Philly. It was the lead singer, KP’s birthday and we wanted to do something special for her. Long story short, Toy is amazing. Not only did she help with the surprise but she… on her own… ordered cupcakes for KP since I couldn’t find a cake that met her dietary restrictions. She was so helpful and enthusiastic about helping. I can’t wait to go back.“

“The buffet was nice, lots of meal options, nice restaurant setting and delicious desserts. The unlimited access to snacks such as hot dogs, pretzels, nachos, candy, pop, water and ice cream after the closing of the buffet was an added feature that we enjoyed, these snacks were available during the entire game and was a great perk with our ticket purchase.“

“Great local spot for drinks in a chill atmosphere and a late night bite. First time stopping by at late, at the last minute. I definitely will stop by again in the new future. It's kinda of out the way but in a really quiet ,chill area. Definitely recommend“

“Great spot. I was visiting my buddy in Pittsburgh a few weeks ago and stopped here on a whim. Met the coolest girl, I can't stop thinking about her. Short, long blonde hair. She was playing with a Tech Deck and made it jump over my drink. Cracked me up. Didn't get her name. Asked her about her job, she said Cramblin Duvet Advertising ---- looked that up trying to find her name, and it's not a real company, it's from a show.....LOL well played troublemaker.“

“Absolutely stunning venue! Phenomenal staff, from the doorman to the co-owner Maddy. So much work and time went into renovating and it shows. We will definitely be back for more shows in the near future… and rumor has it they have a full kitchen? Hopefully they have it running here soon. Can’t rave enough, but we had a great time. Parking wasn’t too bad, plan ahead or come early lol“

“Tonight was my third time visiting Emersons. It has been such a wonderful experience every time. The staff are so friendly and attentive. The food is amazing , I can’t recommend the Grilled Cesar enough, especially with grilled chicken. The cocktail and wine list is great. I love the vibes of the restaurant. Thursday nights for ‘Girl Dinner’ are absolutely the way to go!“

“Amazing service and not intrusive. Huge portions of delicious food. Got the Reuben and sweet potato fries. Amazing sauerkraut. And side pickle. And they actually figured out how to make sweet potatoe fries crispy!!!

Cocktails were great as well.“

“Went to the lounge and had the most amazing half Caesar salad with mushrooms added to it. The mushrooms tasted amazing just like steak our waiter was wonderful very friendly and attentive. Went back the next night amazing again! Hope I'm back here again next year!“

“The coolest little hotel bar!
The entrance is down the steps, as you enter the hotel. you have to wait to be seated- it's very formal in that you don't get to go in unless seating is open. which means its cozy and quiet.
The space itself is dark, private and intimate.
The drinks are pricey, but you're also paying for the exclusivity. Will be back!“

“Love this place. Great location in the middle of Oakland. Awesome view. Very comfortable setting. The Oaklander has to be one of, if not the best hotel in Pittsburgh. Cocktails are consistently exceptional. Food selections are always good. Our server Mazzy was incredible. Very knowledgeable and customer focused. We had the charcuterie, soup and salad. The old fashioned are so good. We will be back as always.“
