Grappling Crab Shack

This is my 3rd season coming to this place for crabs. I used to go to another crabshack in Dover but they closed down. I picked up a dozen medium today and once again they were heavy and delicious and always better than the previous place I went to get crabs. They put just the perfect amount of seasoning on them. Highly recommend Grappling Crab Shack.

We ordered 3 doz jumbo crabs today. We also got a pint of Chesapeake Pasta Salad. The crabs and the pasta tasted great. They were well worth it. I definitely recommend The Grappling Crab Shack.

Omg! The crab and corn chowder was literally the tastiest thing ever. Best soup I’ve ever had. Everything on their menu is fire, but I was blown away by that item last night!

What a truly hidden gem adding the Yellow Breeches Creek. We split a dozen medium-large mix of crabs and a pint of pasta salad. Everything was delicious. And definitely for more large than medium crabs. It’s a take out/picnic place, so there is no inside seating or bathroom. If you want to eat by the scenic creek, like we did, bring your own picnic supplies (table cloth, plates, wipes, utensils) and beverages. They have crab utensils for sale. Depending on the season, bug spray is recommended.

If you want crab cakes or fries, check their web site for the food truck schedule. Also, there’s an ice cream shack that is only open on the weekends. We’ll be back to try the ice cream, crab cakes, coleslaw, and fries.

We drove an hour to pick up crabs and we NOT disappointed! These were hands down the best crabs I have ever had even when living in Maryland. They were filled with meat from the first to the last! I highly recommend, totally worth the drive. We also got this steamed shrimp and they were huge and really good.

My husband and I have been getting food here at the shack for a few years. It is always a special Summer treat for us as it can get pricey if you order everything on the menu ?, which we always do.

Yesterday, I stopped by for the first time this Summer and oh boy was I thrilled to see all of the upgrades to the space! In their beautiful haven along the Yellow Breeches Creek, they added tables and umbrellas for guests to eat their food at right on the Breeches! Also, there is now a Lisburn Creamery Ice Cream Stand there in their nook as well! All of it now connects to Lower Allen Park.

The food is always delicious, everything loaded with crab that they get from the Chesapeake regularly.

The service is also always great, though yesterday it was top notch! I called 7 minutes before they closed and they still took the time to make my large order. Understandably so, there was a small miscommunication about my order and they fixed it promptly after closing time without hesitation, without blaming me or anyone else. I felt entirely appreciated and taken care of.

I highly recommend this local fav for takeout or to dine outside by the creek with ice cream for dessert.

We kayaked the yellow breeches and found this spot, stopped along the way and had some crabs. I'm from Maryland so I was very hesitant. Crabs were excellent! They even use JO seasoning. I can't wait to stop back in. Hey have some picnic tables set up, only downside is there is no place to wash your hands and no port a potty.

Crabs are good. There expensive but they are expensive everywhere so there's that. If you want Crabs that don't itch and taste good.....get some.

We had your food tonight at the KW Fall Blast and the food and service was exceptional. They portion size was good and the quality was top knotch along with the great service from thex2 gentleman working. Will definitely support them again.

Nice heavy crabs now!! Highly recommend but you should call ahead so you get the size you want.
