I shop at Wegman's nearly every day along with my service dog. If y'all know anything about Wegmans, it's not the discount store experience. The employees are treated really well and generally they reflect that energy back to us, the customers. Wegman's employees are smarter, more sensitive and happier than the employees at the other grocery stores. But today, when I was checking out there was an employee supervising the self-checkout. I had a hard time checking out. I never signed up to be a cashier with low blood sugar and brain problems. But nevertheless, I am one. So, I was having a hard time ringing in the produce and I was stressed. When my service dog started being trained a year ago to go into Wegmans, it was a disaster. But every time we came back in was another step up for him. And now he is sensational. I use a slip lead and issue directives, and he does everything I say. Its just truly a triumph compared to how he started out. And it was the employees and the customers that helped us get to this point. They gave my doggie attention which built his confidence and now he is fabulous. His tail went from being curled underneath his butt to standing high and proud as we now walk in the store. But I started losing feeling in my left hand and realized he has to be trained now on what's called a hitch hiker leash that wraps around the waist, and you control the dog with your core and not necessarily with your hand. So, we start from the beginning once again. And when we went to check out, the customer service manager was snickering at us and mocking us. She had to come over and help me ring in produce and she was angry that she had to walk around the dog. I knew just as a generalized thing she didn't want any dog in the store. And you could see her looking for excuses to ridicule us. As I walked away, she was shaking her head at us in disgust and then she started gossiping about us to the other customer service manager. When I saw that, I turned around and asked for her name, which is Peggy. Peggy, you are very mean and have no clue what it is like to have severe disability and have to be checking out produce, while having brain problems, while training a service dog and while listening to you snicker at us. Wegman's as a whole is fantastic in many ways imaginable, but this lady was really mean and ruined my day. And my poor little dog did nothing to her. She simply had to walk around him. He was doing his best to learn a new skill in front of her critical judgmental eye.

Cookies at $13.99 a pound, one cookie was $8.67. I was able to return before I left the store. I don’t care how big or small, the per pound price is misleading.

I ordered wrap platters for a baby shower. I had difficulty doing it myself online, but when I went inside, the helpers were excellent. They helped me decide what I needed and all the varietys!

Wegmans claims there’s “no fee” for picking up groceries but that is not true. They increase the charge on every item. For example, we ordered fish - if I’d picked it up in the store, it would have cost $26.99, but because I ordered it online for pick up, they charged me $31.99 per pound- $5 more per pound. That’s just on one item. I’ll never shop here again. They are thieves.

No plastic bags available. You have to carry a heavy paper bag most cannot lift. Paper is wasteful as you can only carry one at a time
Also expensive they want you to pay for the bags
They want to cut down trees to make more paper bags
Here’s my Wegman’s recommendation. If you place an order for one of their sub sandwiches, check the sub is actually what you ordered before you leave. Our last two orders were wrong. One had black olives instead of pickles. Other one was missing the cheese and hot peppers. They are really good when they get the order correct, but that seems to be more of a rare event.

They have new pizza crust…..HORRIBLE!!! To insta-rise taste. So many changes the past several years…no so impressed by Wegmans these days.

This Wegmans is awesome! We have one near our home but this one is bigger and much nicer! We had fresh made hoagies and soup, but they have such a variety of food to choose from to take home or eat there for lunch/dinner! Very clean, nice staff, great store!

I always stop into Wegmans whenever Im in the Harrisburg area! The people there are always so friendly and helpful. I often find gifts there for friends and family! They have a beautiful flower shop with awesome arrangements!
