Love this place and have been coming here for years. They have it all, atmosphere, great food, good wine and live music on the weekends.
I’ve visited Greendance Winery at Sand Hill twice—once with my father and another time with both my parents—and both experiences left us deeply disappointed.
During our first visit, the service was noticeably slow and disorganized. When we politely asked the older woman behind the bar about the differences between sweet and dry wines, she shrugged and offered no guidance. Rather than clarifying or helping us navigate the tasting options, she abruptly refused to serve us, leaving us confused and unwelcome.
As a 21-year-old who enjoys visiting local wineries, I always come prepared to show my ID and respect the rules. However, I’ve experienced repeated instances—especially at Greendance—where, despite showing valid identification and having my age verified, I am still refused service. It’s incredibly discouraging to be treated this way as a legal adult and paying customer who wants to enjoy and support a local business. This kind of treatment only reinforces a sense of exclusion and discrimination that should have no place in hospitality.
Hoping our first visit was just an off day, we returned again with my mother joining us. Sadly, we were once again met with indifference and subtle dismissal at the bar. We stood waiting patiently to be acknowledged, but were overlooked entirely and ultimately left without purchasing anything, not because we didn’t want to, but because we were made to feel like we didn’t belong.
I genuinely enjoy the atmosphere and the idea of supporting regional wineries, but this was an unfortunate and repeated reality at Greendance. Until the staff offers consistent respect and inclusion to all guests—regardless of perceived age or appearance—I cannot recommend this winery.
Beautiful location,.food and wine are wonderful
The food is ALWAYS amazing, the grounds are beautiful, and the Good Guys are great!
Before anyone reads all the prior comments and choses not to come here, read CURRENT reviews and mine.
Some prior bad reviews might have been because of not so great staff which probadly aren't there anymore. I was there on a slow day. We never felt like we were a bother or interrupting.
My friend and I visited here on a Tuesday, looking for someplace different for our monthly lunches. It did not disappoint !
We were graciously greeted at The Cabin by a very personable woman. She answered all questions we had about food choices and also asked if my friend had nut allergies because her pasta salad had pesto on it containing nuts. She explained which buildings had the wine, desserts and the farm store with bakery. We were headed over to get wine, so she said she'd hold off on preparing our meals to give us a chance to taste and shop.
At the Greendance wine store we were greeted by Linda, the moment we opened the door. She directed us to the tasting area, explained the types of wines, offered 3 samples and was spot on in what we where looking for. We left with 2 take home bottles and one she opened for our lunch. We walked outside, chose a table and just then our food was ready.
Large portions of good food !!
The chicken salad croissant sandwich was a tasty, the side of potato salad was very similar to what I make, so good, too.
Time for dessert even though we were stuffed. I chose cheesecake topped with raspberries and whipped cream and my friend picked blackberry pie and coffee.
Again, the counter person was very nice. The coffee was going to take a moment. She told us to go sit and she brought it to to our table when it was ready.
We were able to just relax and talk in the shade of the tree covered patio. So cute.
It started to rain, so we never made it to the farm store and bakery, but now we have a treat for when we return again.
In the 3 hours since I've been home, I've already recommended this place to 5 people.
Take a drive, have some wine, a bite to eat and dessert. You should not be disappointed. We weren't !🍷
It was wet and rainy. The band had cancelled. We visited this winery, did a free tasting and then shared a bottle of red wine. Our experience was wonderful! We even bought a berry pie at Sand Hill Berries located on the property. We are looking forward to returning when the leaves change and the apples ripen.
This is one of my favorite places. The food and wine are fabulous. I recommend going in May the strawberries are in season and the strawberry shortcake is to die for.
Great wine and food
For this beautiful afternoon,
There was a very good substitute band that played well, and the audience enjoyed them. Attendance was large, but they could have used more help at the wine sampler area. Further, there were 14 people in line waiting for wine purchases, but it moved way too slow. Third, the wines are very good, and we come here quite regularly.
Green dance is always a pleasure. Sometimes there's live entertainment or sometimes just the quiet place to sit and think. Great desserts or maybe a snack.

Their Isabella wine and cookies are absolutely epic! Great atmosphere and nice people working there. Definitely recommended
Relaxing place
Great, full experience from tasting, to lunch, to bakery and more. Loved it.
Lousy stop on the pour tour. Too many requirements to get your stickers. Bad, over priced sangria and the DD had to purchase equal. Could have been fun and may have purchased a bottle but not when you feel forced to.
Loved the Mother's Day brunch
