My family has enjoyed BBQ from Stookeys for over 50 yrs. Any bad reviews surprised me as I've always encountered friendly servers,great food with generous portions and decent prices. In my opinion sour attitudes follow sour customers.
Stookeys reminded me of Knoebels. Two amazing PA businesses that have thrived through multiple generations, charge a reasonable price, and give a phenomenal experience.

We stopped by and grabbed some pulled pork sandwiches. The service was great, very friendly staff. The sandwiches were mouth watering, we loved the sauce.

Stookey's Famous Bar-B-Que is a local favorite known for its fantastic barbecue, still run by the family of the original founder. It remains a great vintage roadside restaurant that many customers have visited for years. They offer a great take-home deal of 20oz of smoked barbecue, four rolls, and relish for $19.95, serving two people for two meals. Customers love their sandwiches, especially the turkey BBQ and the original BBQ, which many call the BEST. The ham is also a favorite among regulars. The service is great, with friendly staff who go out of their way to help. The menu has expanded over the years, but the flavors remain consistently delicious. Many have seen improvements in portions and quality, making it a great little place for a sandwich and sides. It’s always a good stop when in the area, and many feel nostalgic about the old-fashioned atmosphere. Never a bad meal!
