The Wiener schnitzel was crispy and cooked just right. The lemon cut through to add the right acidity. The German potatoes were excellent and with the taste of lemon paired excellent with the Wiener schnitzel. The pretzel decent size and we shared between two of us. The spicy German mustard tasted like Dijon mustard. The salad was okay and was indifferent (not bad or amazing). Overall solid German meal.

food + drinks were amazing! I’d go here for the food alone. All German offerings, no sours, fruity beers, etc.
only suggestion is to maybe get rid of the baby blue color…and the random taxidermy…
overall received good service and had a great time. would go again and will recommend to others.

We went to Gunpowder Falls Brewing this past Saturday with a number of friends, sitting in the outdoor Biergarten. Great German style bier brewed under the ‘purity laws’ accompanied by delicious German food - schnitzel, sausages, brats, kraut, etc., and American food too! And when the weather isn’t so nice, they have a very large indoor area to enjoy the food and beer. A great set-up to enjoy with friends and family! We’ve been going to GFB for years and continue to enjoy its offerings.

German themed food and beer were good. Not a lot of choices for tap beers. Waitress lovely, but needed help!!

This is a hidden gem! No shmoojie hazy sour beers here, just solid German favorites like Pilsner, marzen and dunkel (they do have wine and cocktails if bier isn’t your thing). They buy their sausages from Binkerts so it’s fresh and authentic. We also enjoy the pretzel, curry wurst and fries, and the schnitzel. Everything is super fairly priced as well! The chicken sando special is a STEAL (and it’s breaded in house too!) Definitely recommend stopping in!

My son and I visited for the first time. We did all of the NRC Trail and Heritage Rail Trail. On the way back we stopped at Gunpowder Falls Brewing. I just found it on Google maps. I had the 2 Export Hell beers and I thought they were great. If I did not have to travel another 21 miles to home, I would had tried another beer. My son loved his burger and I thought the wurst was good. Next time I am on the trail, I will be back. I hope soon.

2nd try - Beer great! Staff great! Saw their menu this visit. Menu is nothing like their website menu. Most of the items on their website are not on their in-house menu. There's really no excuse for this with being in business for years now. Same with their hours and days of operation. Nothing worse than knowing what you want to get and when you're there, it's not on the menu or they're not open! Got Schnitzel this time. Just OK. Meh. Nothing I would get again, crave or want to go back for. Got the potato salad which had very undercooked potatoes slices and unlike any German potato salad I have ever had, seen or tasted. Maybe their bar food/snacks/specials are better? Everyone seems to love this place, so I guess it must just be me. So I guess, give it a shot! 1st try - This is a very mixed review. I have heard and read wonderful things about this place and had to check it out, but overall, I left really disappointed. I'll have to give them another shot though. The server/waitress/bartender was VERY nice and excellent. Especially since she was the only person handling the entire restaurant/bar that night. I felt really bad for her, but she handled herself so well. Kudos to her. They should be honored to have her! Not fair to her being put into that situation. 1 person could not handle that volume of people. When I left, the place was packed and no one except myself and another gentlemen at the bar was served any food. The beer was excellent!!!! Definitely no complaints there!. Now on to the food. Based off of the reviews and what I have heard, I'm really just hoping they were short handed, new cook or had issues that night. I ordered the Jagerschnitzel. Website menu said it came with choice of 2 sides. Didn't get a choice. It didn't even come with Spatzle. It was served over fries. I overheard others stating similar concerns about their online website menu not coinciding with the menu at the restaurant. You've been in business long enough, that should be fixed. Salad was really good. The Schnitzel however was not. I saw multiple pictures of the Schnitzel they've served and this looked nothing like that. The Cream sauce was a watery mess with no cream whatsoever. The Schnitzel looked like it had been around for quite some time and wasn't fried properly. It was edible, but that's about it. I didn't even finish it. The gentleman at the bar seemed to be having a similar experience with undercooked Thighs/wings. He sent them back twice to no avail. By the time I left, he still didn't have any food. I find it odd that my experience was sooooo different from most everyone else's. Like I said, the place was full when I left, so they must be doing something right. I will have to go back again in hopes I experience what others have and I can change my recommendation. Overall, I'm pretty easy to please and never write reviews, so if I'm doing this, there were concerns that should be considered and looked at. Everyone deserves a second chance. More to come, and hopefully a great review!

My wife and I enjoy the place! Very good German beer and food!

Mediocre German food at best, nothing special. My husband said the beer was good but the food was a disappointment. The service was just blah, no excitement or welcoming atmosphere. Probably wouldn’t return to this brewery.
