Is this a gay bar?
John & Peter’s is pure magic.
For many years, my wife and I have cherished the experience of walking into the listening room at John & Peter’s and being completely swept away by the talent on their small but mighty stage. The performances—whether original songs or thoughtfully chosen covers—are truly special. This is real local music at its finest.
When I say local, I mean musicians playing straight from the heart, purely for the love of the craft. These are soulful songs you don’t hear just anywhere, shared by artists whose only goal is to give their gift to the room. Yes, they’re paid—but never enough for what they give back to the audience.
Beyond the music, the food is consistently excellent. From snacks to burgers and everything in between, everything we’ve tried has been fresh and delicious. And for those looking to relax and enjoy the night even more, John & Peter’s also offers a full bar with a great selection of adult refreshments.
Another part of the magic is that you truly never know who might walk through those coolest-of-the-cool stage doors. Surprise appearances and unexpected moments are just part of what makes John & Peter’s so special.
It’s not often that a customer feels compelled to thank a business publicly, but I’ve felt drawn to write this for weeks now. My hat is off to the entire John & Peter’s team. Thank you for being such an important part of a beautiful community and for providing such incredible music.
A special mention goes to the Wednesday night “Invitational Jam.” This is a gathering of musicians from all styles who come together to create something truly unique. It’s definitely not Top 40—but instead the songs many of us grew up with and rarely get to hear live. If you can make it to one of these nights, you’ll witness and hear an unforgettable experience.

I’ve been going here for years, but the last 4 times I’ve stopped in the service has been questionable to say the least, especially the outdoor area. Even trying to get the check and pay felt like I was asking for the servers kidney.

Came here to see the Cryptkeeper 5 live.
It truly was a unique experience like no other. The atmosphere had a cool and quaint vibe. You'll find the stage through the bar and inside a door that looks similar to a medieval/barn door. 😅
They have a few tables to sit at if youre lucky to grab one and a nice waitress that was going around! My cocktail was strong and tasty.
The location is a bit daunting and I definitely drove around for 45 minutes looking for parking anywhere remotely close to this.

Little hole in the wall bar. Good food, pleasant staff. Live music.
Visited last night to watch deardarkhead perform. The live music was great, the place a bit small by cozy. The food... while the food was a bit pricey for my liking, it was worth it.
The serving size for the mozzarella sticks and chicken tenders were good, the sauces were great, and overall just really good. The waitress was pretty good as well. My wife and I had a great night and will definitely return when we're in the area.

Great sound for what looks like a place that wouldn't sound great - crazy to see who books here sometimes, but it's essentially a historical landmark, as being in operation since '72 makes it the oldest continuously operating venue in the country. Staff is great, very attentive. Check it out!

Great dive bar with awesome music drinks and food. Service was very good, as we're the wings and beer and margaritas. The 2 bands we heard were country and alternative rock. Both very good. Great experience!!!!!
