The food is great and the people are are even better! A very interesting concept and wish more like this were around. Mary and all of her helpers are just wonderful! Have her tell you the whole story as to how this place came to be. Please don't pass this place up if you're nearby. And if you don't leave with a smile on your face, there's something wrong.

Just went here for the first time for a wedding and was literally blown away! They opened the doors to the banquet room and it was like the closet to Narnia i had no idea it was even there it was absolutely beautiful ! Food was delicious, the workers were so sweet and wonderful and friendly. Everything looked beautiful we had a blast!

This is a great spot with an awesome mission that they execute very well. They are a pay what you can/ pay it forward cafe. Meaning they help those who have challenges to be able to enjoy a delicious meal and also give those who can afford it a chance to either pay the regular modest price or add more to it to help them with their cause. They have an all volunteer group working and everyone I spoke with was very friendly and helpful. They recognized I didn't know their process as I sat with the menu at my table and talked me through my first visit. You get your menu and are seated at a numbered table. When ready you go up to the counter to order and pay. You also get one drink and one treat included in the price of your meal from the friendly person at the drink/treat counter. As mentioned, they are a volunteer group. If you want to tip or just donate they have a donation box sitting near the register. That is what I did on my first visit. On my second I added an amount to my bill when paying at the register. Both meals were very good. I had the chicken gyro one day with buttered noodles and a cup of Italian wedding soup. The second visit I had the quiche trio with a side salad and another cup of the soup. I greatly enjoyed both meals.

I recently lost my mom and I can admit it hit me a little harder than I thought. Within the first 2-3 days was the hardest. Especially being a mom and grieving. I could barely pull myself together to cook for my family. I was able to feed my family of four at the @knead cafe, not only with the option to pay, but fair priced good food and with a supportive staff crew that entertained my toddlers. They kept my kids laughing while I could sit there, cry, and just have a moment of emotions. The staff invited me back that night and gave me 4 meals for free that covered dinner and helped me check something on my to do list. I believe this was a Thursday. Not only do I recommend tasty food, but I recommend their caring soft environment. Their loving staff, their warm hugs and genuine care for the community. Forever thankful for The Knead Cafe.

everything about this amazing place is done right. From creating a first class experience for all, keeping delicious food at a reasonable cost for those who pay the full price, while at the same time making room for those who are battling hunger. on top of that, creating room for community service, and for creating opportunities for those in the community to get back. Thank you for all you guys do.

This place has been around for several years now, and it has become a staple in our community. The food is delicious and affordable. The people who volunteer there take so much pride in the mission to provide hunger relief to those in need. The owners put their heart and soul into making a positive impact in our community. Their success has motivated other businesses into becoming part of the redevelopment in New Kensington.

What a little slice of heaven! So happy God lead me to this establishment today. Had a wonderful experience and can’t wait to return! Especially for the breaking bread meal! What an amazing place! God bless!
