everything about this amazing place is done right. From creating a first class experience for all, keeping delicious food at a reasonable cost for those who pay the full price, while at the same time making room for those who are battling hunger. on top of that, creating room for community service, and for creating opportunities for those in the community to get back. Thank you for all you guys do.

This place has been around for several years now, and it has become a staple in our community. The food is delicious and affordable. The people who volunteer there take so much pride in the mission to provide hunger relief to those in need. The owners put their heart and soul into making a positive impact in our community. Their success has motivated other businesses into becoming part of the redevelopment in New Kensington.

What a little slice of heaven! So happy God lead me to this establishment today. Had a wonderful experience and can’t wait to return! Especially for the breaking bread meal! What an amazing place! God bless!

The founders, Mary & Kevin Bode, are very sincere about the Café's two-fold mission: ▪︎ To provide hunger relief to those in need, by offering delicious and healthy food options regardless of one’s means. We partner with individuals where they are! ▪︎ To strengthen the bonds of community by creating a safe and beautiful space, where all are invited to engage with one another. The food quality and preparation are exceptional! The Café is always spotless. There's a private meeting room, where corporate meetings and small private gatherings take place. During the warmer weather, the Café expands onto the on-site patio to offer BBQ options in a serene setting. And then there's "Banquet on Barnes" -- the on-site banquet hall -- which has hosted UPMC seminars, as well as weddings and comedy shows! The approximate seating capacity is 300. Volunteering at Kneads is a pleasure, with so many wonderful fellow volunteers and staff! How do I know all this? I've been volunteering at Knead Café at least once/week for almost a year!

Do NOT eat here if you have any food allergies! My 20 something daughters went there today with their grandmother. My one daughter has a severe, life-threatening fish and shellfish allergy. My daughter is normally able to go to a restaurant, inform them of the allergy, and the staff are wonderfully accommodating. If they can't accommodate, no worries, we leave gracefully and with no hard feelings. We appreciate their honesty.

I understand the staff here are volunteers, but it was relayed to me how chiding, demeaning and dismissive the "waitress" was to my daughter, regarding her allergy. She refused to answer any questions regarding preparation, saying it wasn't her job. Ok, so my daughters sought out the general manager. He was barely any better. My other daughter shared that he sighed repeatedly, acting dismissive and annoyed. He appeared to have great difficulty understanding the questions regarding preparation. I realize this cafe is staffed by volunteers and does a good service for the community. However, I don't believe they have the training or empathy to serve those with severe food allergies.
