Love these funky beers. Brett/wild/mixed fermentation brews are my go to and SR specializes in them. Had one outstanding beer and one very good one during my visit. Have had many SR brews before this first visit to a SR Taproom. So glad that the in-person experience was so satisfying. Very friendly and helpful staff. Welcoming patrons. Excellent food. The area is a little depressed but the "downtown" area was quaint. Enjoyed the visit very much.

Nice selection of beers and a refreshing variety with not 50% ipas like a lot of brewpubs. Pizza was solid as well, nice atmosphere. The only minor issue is they should consider different chairs, these are the cold, uncomfortable, metal ones. I stood for half of my last drink.

Stopped in for the first time. The staff is very friendly, drinks are great! Tried the pulled pork nachos- so amazing! Will be coming back.

We’ve never had a bad experience here. I’d really like to highlight how friendly and welcoming the staff always are. They are great at selecting beers for you based on your tastes. The Jenny cream ale has been a favorite of ours for some time, we were happy to see it return to selection. We love that the location is right across from Voodoo and tend to hit both places when we visit. Cool name, great beers, chill environment that often offers entertainment. Every time we post our food/experience online our friends are asking “where can I get that?” This is my favorite brewery, always looking forward to return.

Had my first Strange Roots experience this past weekend… it was awesome! Tried a few beers and enjoyed each of them. The pizza though is what will keep me coming back! It was excellent! The staff members were friendly and the overall atmosphere and ambiance were comfortable. There’s an outdoor area that would be fantastic to hang out, have a beer, and enjoy the summer evenings. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

Not Black friendly at all! A group of friends & myself ordered pizza, It took about an hour but the pizza was good. As we were waiting outside the front door; Mind you we were opening the door for other patrons as we stood by the door not one of the customers cared because we were opening the door for them nor were we really in the way…. the rude bald manager/owner/employee whoever he was did not ask us politely to move! He instead came outside with aggression & told us to move “go down the block or in the back, I don’t care. This is an establishment” (MEANWHILE WE ORDERED FOOD FROMHIS DOG SMELLING ESTABLISHMENT & HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR OUT FOOD FOR AN HOUR). We were also the only black group of people in or around the place. It’s not what you say it how you say it. His aggression & aggravation towards us was unnecessary. They will never get a penny from me again. Wish I could give it a zero!!!!

We love the entire vibe at Strange Roots which also houses the Amazing Common Oven Pizza!! The Staff are always super friendly and willing to give the 411 on anything they have on tap. Live music and a large beer garden area to sit outside and hang with friends and enjoy the delish beer and food!!! This place is one to put on your places to visit list. Loving this place for New Ken!!!

love the pizza but this place is not black friendly im given side eyes and strange looks everytime I walk in while recently waiting for my food with a group of friends during sizzling Saturdays the owner or manager came out and raise his voice at us and said this is a business not a hang out spot move along when I told him we all order food he then said we can wait down the block it was very upsetting that I come very often and always tip great even during take out they also aloud animal in the establishment around food and drinks
