“We stopped by on a whim on a Saturday evening to compare them to our current favorite pizza shop in the area. We've driven by several times and seen it lively and the bar area full. It was absolutely dead in there. Lights were totally off in the front and back bar and eating area. We thought they were closed until we saw light and movement in the take out area. It was freezing inside, the drink coolers were empty and dirty and the decor was outdated and dusty. The menu was pretty standard pizza shop fare. However everything we ordered was excellent. We got a Sicilian pizza, a calzone, and a sandwich. The portions were large, toppings were fresh, and the cheese was stretchy and delicious like you see on a cartoon. The man (probably Romano since he's featured in all the photographs on the wall) and the woman were both very friendly and welcoming. I don't think I'd want to dine in there, but we'll definitely be repeat take out customers.“

“We had the opportunity to dine at this wonderful establishment last night with friends . The staff were very friendly and our server was fantastic and assured us that our gluten free food is handled and prepared with much care . My wife and I have gluten allergies and our food was fantastic! Everything was on point and we cannot wait to come back here again !Dietary restrictions: As a gluten free vegetarian, it can be difficult to find good food that is safe to eat and not a salad . I had a gluten free pasta primavera and it was hands down some of the best I’ve ever had !! I look forward to seeing even more options in the the future!“

“Staff were very welcoming and ready to help. The New Yorker pizza was out of this world! I would highly recommend trying that pizza. We got a slice of the Neapolitan to try and we both agree that The New Yorker was best.Parking: Parking is right out front and was not a far walk“

“As soon as you walk in, you will feel welcome and relaxed with the beautiful decor of lights and plants. Even smells like Italy just walking in. The Customer Service is very attentive and likes to keep the energy high. Great seating options for small to big crowds. Private room option for wedding receptions, graduations, etc, and a Selfie Wall for pics. They make their own bread , and I was told "You have to get the Cheesesteak Special!" It was delish! I'm used to most restaurants using Amaroso Rolls, and their bread did not disappoint. It was filling! Great amount of sauce and ingredients. Almost needed a nap after eating it. Food coma. Others in our party had chicken wings, Cesar salad, clams, pizza, and more. Our group of 16 loved their meals and drinks. Highly recommended for any size party to have a great meal and great time. “By far, the best quality of pizza I’ve had. The pizza with extra cheese has literally 0 grease coating the box or crust. The cheese tastes so fresh and the dough and homemade sauce is perfection. If you haven’t had this gentleman’s pizza, order a large with xtra cheese. My family’s go to for pizza.“
“Love this restaurant... Been going there since I was a kid... Moved away for about 10 years and every store/restaurant in town including The movie theater that was remodeled when I was growing up has been closed when I returned except Tommy's and I am so grateful for that. This place is just like I remembered. They have the best bread and Italian dressing ever I highly suggest going here if you have not and if you have then just keep on coming and bring along some friends... Everyone should support their local restaurant to keep it alive. They are like a dying breed nowadays and need our help.. amazing owners that only higher amazing staff to go with... Thanks Tommy's and happy 40th anniversary! Hope you never change...Kid-friendliness: Amazing people that only dish out amazing quality.. not only kid friendly... Friendly to The community in general“

“The best. The only downer is u don't get free refills on ur drinks. But the eggplant parm. Completely ruined olive garden for me. And their vodka sauce, 10's across the board. The Stromboli is packed w whatever u get. It's not mostly dough like other places. Once u go there u won't want to go anywhere else.“

“I would give it more stars if I could for the food alone. Everything was great from the house salad dressing and bread to the manicotti Florentine and the drinks. I highly recommend this place to be a top on your list as it has become one on mine. I do wish it was a little more of a restaurant atmosphere without the bar as I went for a date, but otherwise, the service and food were amazing. Plenty of parking and I heard live music outside. Also, if you're like me and enjoy charcuterie, go for the Italian cheese board. Small and not too many items but the ones included were delicious.“

“First time ordering here. The pizza was good, they don't skimp on sauce and it was baked perfectly. The steak sandwich was great. The seasoned beef is a flavor I never tasted before, what a pleasant surprise for the tastebuds. Best steak sandwich I ever had, and that is saying something as I'm 45. Will be a customer for life as long as they don't change their recipes!“
“Good food, not expensive at all In my opinion, friendly people, great bar staff, Get the special of whatever day it is & you would understand. Prices on booze & liqueur are not bad, only thing if i was to think of anything a little pricey would be the jukebox, but then again I'm from down south so things are more expensive but cheaper on music to though. Overall this is a good place to grab a bite to eat, wash it down with a more than worthy selection of available drinks, shoot a game of pool, or darts if that's your thing, or even try your luck with the slot machines. Fun for everyone here.“

“11/18/23 We were in the town of Hamburg perusing the interesting shops and discovered it was 2:30 and we were hungry!! It was my first time in Hamburg (not including Cabellas) and we were looking for a place to sit down and eat. Russo's was right there near the antique shops we were investigating so we went inside. I liked the restaurant it was clean, bright and welcoming. The delicious smell of Italian cooking was pleasant and made me that much more hungry! If you could bottle and sell that aroma you'll be rich! I ordered a medium pizza with sausage. The sausage was sweet sliced Italian sausage and I liked it a lot! The pizza sauce was delicious too! It wasn't super sweet like red top but was sweeter than I usually have. Well I really loved it!! The dough was chewy yet crisp at the bottom and I liked the consistency. The girl who took our order at the register was very sweet, friendly and bubbly. You order at the register and sit where you want- they'll bring the food to the table then you'll clear your table at the end of the meal. It works if you don't have waitress service. Great Choice. The menu is pretty large too. Entrees, sandwiches, etc.“

“Tommy's in Tamaqua does serve some of the Freshest and Delicious Subs/Hoagies in the area. Personally, my go to Hoagies are their Regular & Tuna Fish. Their Cheesesteaks are also Delicious . Their secret, in my opinion, is in the Homemade Hoagie Rolls which are made Fresh Daily. The service is wonderful, Jen, Sam, Sharon, Tina and several other crew members go to great lengths to cook and provide the best quality food and service to their customers!!!Two specials are always a crowd pleaser. Tuesdays it's buy 1 Hoagie at Regular price get another for half price. Fridays special is a Baked Haddock Platter w/ mac-n- cheese & stewed tomatoes! There are many more delicious Hoagies , Platters and Appetizers to choose from.If your passing through the area and decide to stop in on the fly, allow for some extra time due to large customer volumes at times.Payments can be made by CASH or CHECK only.“

“Great little place. Clean and neat. Cheesesteak and stromboli were spot on. Outside of the stromboli was nice and crispy. Owner was very friendly and personable. As a former 4-H kid myself, it made me smile to see that he supports ag kids by purchasing their lamb/beef/pork that that they work so hard on. Pictures all over they walls with these proud kiddos Will definitely frequent this place.“
