We used to live in Princeton and occasionally ate at the OG Blue Point there -- it was fabulous. We have now eaten twice at the recently opened Newtown location. Sadly, it met neither our expectations based on prior experience nor any general expectations for a restaurant at this price point. I had trout the first time which was underwhelming. Meh texture, bland flavor. I had scallops the second time which were better but still nothing special. I dont remember the dishes my husband had, but his conclusions were the same. There seems to be an active bar scene for overdone 50-somethings who like to talk loudly about their fancy cars and international vacations, then extoll the virtues of humility and character. Did I mention loudly? The bar menu offers some interesting cocktails but the execution varies from bartender to bartender. Wont be back.

We had a great meal here. Oysters were some of the best I ever had.

First time there and can't wait to go back. Sat at the bar, Ramone made amazing cocktails using fresh ingredients and the food was excellent. Definitely a place to check out!!!!

We have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. Food comes out piping hot.Servers are well educated on the menu and are always in a great mood. Kennedy was so friendly and attentive to our needs. Juliana the hostess is tremendous and Danielle the manager keeps the restaurant working harmoniously.Parking: Park near the Gap it’s a short walkKid-friendliness: Large dinner areas with tables in nooks and crannies to allow for all ages to enjoy.Wheelchair accessibility: Facility is ADA Compliant

First time here for dinner. Party of 6 on a weekday evening. Reservations are much easier to get on a weekday. Drinks and food were outstanding. The oyster selection was top notch. All of the apps and entrees were excellent.

Good menu selections. Everything we ordered was delicious. Service was also great. Atmosphere was noisy. They could do with some more sound absorbing materials. Nice bar. If you like mint, you must try the chocolate mint ice cream.Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible

We were there with a small party this past Thursday and while we usually have a good experience, I think this will be our last time coming to Blue Point Grille. We go for the food and atmosphere but this time it seemed like a rowdy bar scene at a loud corner bar, with drunks being loud and engaging the bartender, who was not helping the situation. We couldn't hear ourselves think. We overheard another customer make a complaint as they left their table. I hope this isn't the sign of the end of fantastic seafood restaurant that had lots of potential in Newtown.

Their fish is hit or miss. Sometimes it's fresh. sometimes it's not. I got the Alaskan sole which was the most expensive on the menu and it was horrible. The other time I got the Chilean sea bass and it was really good and there was another time I got the yellowfin tuna, and it was so so

Server was great. Food average. Oysters were excellent and the best part of the meal.

Ordered the NE clam chowder, warm goat cheese salad and crab stuffed sole. The food was just okay, nothing particularly good or memorable.

I very rarely write reviews. I'll keep this simple and to the point, just like the food at Blue Point. That was one of the best pieces of fish I've ever had in my life. Highly recommend.

This restaurant has become our "go-to" place for special occasions. We know it won't disappoint. Last night was another repeat performance as we celebrated a family birthday. I ordered a fish I had never had and never even seen on a menu before: Cobia. It was a white fish, cut about 2 inches thick, grilled with butter, lemon and capers, and I couldn't have been happier with the meal. (My Irish ancestors appreciated the quality of the garlic smashed potatoes on the side, even though they probably never prepared them that way themselves.) Aside from the quality of the food and the freshness of the fish (essentially the same thing) their waitstaff are exceptional. Last night our server was Mike, and I remembered him taking care of us from our first meal there right after they opened. He makes it seem like he really enjoys his work, and likes the people he takes care of. And I believe he really does. They were exceedingly busy on a Saturday night, and we got the last parking space in their lot, so reservations are a must.
