Too many kids sometimes. Sometimes it’s like a Friendly’s in there. Loud, screeching kids running around sometimes. I love this place. GREAT beer! WONDERFUL staff and bartenders. Very comfortable open space. But sometimes open space means parents with small kids show up. This is a go to place for me. I love it. I will continue to go here for sure. But when I walk in and there’s tons of kids I turn around and go to any number of close by options.

I was unsure from the outside but we had a great bartender and crowd to welcome in the devastating first Phillies game of the year! Recommend.

So we generally love newtown brew and viewed this as the best spot in town to come with small kids. Had a very weird experience today though.So this is a bit of the “papa bear” in me but whatever. It was packed and a lot of kids running around like crazy everywhere (which we couldn’t care less about). Our kids were no different but were generally staying by our table. We went to get a drink and the bartender with red tips told us “we need to do a better job corralling our kids” exact words lol. I mean 1. They’re not cattle and 2. They were calmest of the bunch but were somehow singled out.Kind of ruined it for us as we thought it was family friendly and we left feeling extremely slighted and picked on. We watched about 10 kids run like crazy and the bartender was all smiles when those kids parents went to get a beer. Just odd idk.
