Amazing breakfast. Both omelets were the among best we've ever had. Also, the jam is insanely good. We had a ham and cheese omelet and apple omelet. Negatives that are unrelated to the amazing food/ambiance: Orange juice was below average - tasted like a 'from concentrate' generic brand. Passing on 3% credit card fee to customers is disappointing.

Pat's Colonial kitchen is a cozy warm place to enjoy yummy food and catching up with friends. The staff is extremely friendly. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by their staff and the owners. They make you feel welcome and part of the Pat's family. The servers are great at helping you figure out what you want to eat if you are struggling with a decision. The food is amazing and always cooked to perfection. The portions are generous, I am never able to finish my meal. When I am going out to breakfast with friends in Newtown, Pat's is my first choice. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable and my coffee cup us always full.

Pat's Colonial Kitchen is a very charming place in the heart of Newtown. It is a quaint and intimate setting and I love that I can go there to enjoy a delicious breakfast and good conversation with my friends.Stepping into the place feels like going back to a time when great food and great service was the norm. I love that whether I order an omelet, pancakes, or a sandwich, I know exactly what I'm getting and how it will taste - just the way I like it.The servers are friendly (and patient when I can't decide what to order) and I don't have to wait long for a water or coffee refill.Pat's is my "go to" place when I want a casual, fast, and delicious way to start my day!

I was hopeful when I saw this place. I had some time to kill and was looking for a good place for breakfast. The coffee was just ok. I ordered a short stack of blueberry pancakes with a side of scrapple. That was a mistake! The pancakes tasted undercooked, like the batter was still raw in the center. The scrapple was ok.The service was good. This is not a place I would go back to.

Great food, very inexpensive. We had pancakes, and I had 2 eggs over easy with home fries, corned beef hash, and rye toast with homemade jam. Cute intimate

Pat's is consistent in all the ways you want an eatery to be: In its service, quality, consistency, and cleanliness. The staff is always kind and accomodating, and Judy is a treasure. She always has a menu recommendation to offer or some other engaging small talk throughout the dining experience. I've only ever had breakfast there about three dozen or so times over the years, so cannot speak to the lunch menu, but breakfast is always great. The menu is largely the usual suspects of breakfast items, with only a special or two on any given day, but what they do, they do well. My usual order is a coffee with the applee and sausage omellette (yes, the apple is in/on the eggs), and it is delicious. I never see the bottom of the inside of my coffee cup, and the only time I am waiting for a refill is because the serveers are always making sure it's going to be fresh. The portions are perfect and the pricing is spot on. Sitting outside on the covered porch area on a nice day looking out to State St. is the way to go. There can be long waits on weekends, as even with the expansion of the dining room, people just love Pat's!

Food is very good. Service is also good. The inside has a couple rooms that vary in size, so it can be a little tight depending on where u sit, but overall it's fine. Highly recommend for a good breakfast.

Staying in town for a weekend and saw this breakfast place while walking around. I was at pretty quickly, which was great for a Saturday morning. I immediately ordered coffee and checked out the menu. The breakfast menu was mainly omelet options, with a few benedicts, pancakes, and french toast choices. I got the basic 2 eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast with a short stack of pancakes added on.I really wanted this place to be my "I had the BEST breakfast here" story, but sadly, none of it even came close. The coffee was not good. I don't know what I was hoping for, but seeing the small town has several coffee shops or places that boast coffee specials, I think I expected something more flavorful. My eggs were fine... cooked as requested. The potatoes were seasoned, but everything was unevenly covered and cooked. The bacon was... bacon. The pancakes were not good. They seemed undercooked or made with some kind of dry base that created a mealy-inside and not fluff. I think I was hoping for gorgeous buttermilk pancakes, and this was two yellowish circle-like shapes that kind of stuck together. Overall, everything was edible, but very disappointing and priced a bit high (6.50 for 2 pancakes). They did mention homemade jelly for purchase, and I believe that's what I was given with my toast. It was very, very good. I ate every bit of it (about an ounce) on my two slices of wheat toast.Maybe the lunch menu has some more desirable items. I don't think I'll be back to find out.

While we had off for a few days, we decided to venture to try different restaurants. We saw this restaurant had some good reviews so we decided to give it a try. When we arrived, the host/cashier put us at a table right in front of the cash register near the front door. The location was not the best because the cold air hit us every time someone opened the door and it was awkward when the host and a waitress decided to gossip about another waitress right in front of us.On to the positive, our waitress was ever friendly. Our omelets and home fries were delicious. The homemade strawberry jam was a nice addition.

Dont rate many places a 5 in anything, but Pats earns this every time we're here. Historic building, great servers and food was unique. Try the omelet with cinnamon apples!!!
