What can I say. I love the coco bowl. But I switched it up this time with the mango base. It was good, but I prefer the coconut base.The staff is young. I asked if they sold just the base to take home and they had no idea. And they didn't even ask anyone else. I know that my local Playa Bowls does sell the base to go. Oh well, they lost a sale.

Loved them but this year everything is different. Bowls are underfilled and some fruit is rotten. Consistently disappointing.

The only reason survive is a four star, (which isn’t necessarily bad) is because they had a lot of new employees in the store at the time and me and a few of my friends got bowls and it took a little while longer then normal. One of the new girls in there exploded my friend’s bowl out of the mixer when mixing it. It ended up taking a while to be made but it was very good. The atmosphere is amazing as it is decorated with palm, trees and flowers and is overall just a great vibe. The food was a five star for me because it was absolutely phenomenal. You will never get another açai like this around where I live.Kid-friendliness: The store, so kid, friendly, decorated with palm trees and flowers and it’s overall just a great vibe for kids. When I went with a few my friends, there were a lot of kids there aging from about two years old all the way up to all the teenagers being there.

Online it said that the location was open till 9pm. We went in at 8:35 and the employees told us that they closed at 8. I said that it says they’re open till 9 and was told that that’s wrong and they close at 8. While leaving we saw to go orders waiting at the counter. I went to the car and tried to see if I could place an online order and the app was letting me place an order. So clearly the kids who were working there lied just so they didn’t have to serve anyone else. Also if the restaurant was closed the door should’ve also been closed as we went 35 minutes after the “supposed” closing time and there shouldn’t have been to go orders still there and it shouldn’t have let me place an online order.

I would like to address a claimed incident involving Playa Bowls in Newtown… Not only was it not the owner who is currently away on business on the West Coast but playa bowls also did not have a male employee working tonight… it was obviously someone else and from what I understand the owner is actually a longtime supporter of our community and a 30 year resident of Newtown. Considering what happened perhaps we can show support for his business.
