What an awesome restaurant! I ordered the daily special. Southern fried chicken, Pancho and tortilla fried crust over a bed of rice and a house salad with homemade Italian dressing and lots of bread. A full meal for around $25. We also had the cedar plank salmon. Fantastic dish. The mashed potatoes were the table's favorite. Great restaurant, highly recommend.

I had been looking forward to dining at Hoffstot's for the first time ever when we returned to Pittsburgh to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We ordered 2 appetizers, the calamari and the stuffed artichoke hearts. Both were excellent. The calamari was extremely tender. My husband had the mini blackenzola, and it was delicious too. I ordered the veal romano after asking our waiter, Sam, for a recommendation. It was horrible. The veal inside the pancake-like romano batter was so thin you could see through it and barely taste it. The whole dish was extremely dry, and it wasn't until I checked the menu today that I realized why. It was supposed to come with a lemon beurre blanc, but apparently they forgot that. This is inexcusable; to forget an essential ingredient of the dish and for no one to notice. I feel cheated and did not enjoy the veal at all. One more thing, the restaurant was absolutely freezing.Our waiter Sam was great, or so I thought at the time. Now, however, after having him recommend the veal romano, I'm disappointed that even if the chef didn't notice that he forgot a key ingredient, I would have thought that someone who saw fit to recommend it would realize that it was incomplete.

Hofstot's Café Monaco – Oakmont
This is one of my girlfriend’s and my absolute favorite spots in Oakmont. We always sit at the bar because the bartenders, Steve and Krista, are incredible—welcoming, friendly, and great to talk to.
The food never disappoints. I usually go for the Mini Blackenzola, which is always delicious, while my girlfriend tends to order some kind of chicken dish. We always make sure to get fries because we’re big fans, and they do them right here.
The drinks are another highlight, especially their seasonal cocktails. My favorite has to be the snowflake martini—just phenomenal. If you enjoy unique cocktails, this is the place for you.
Overall, I’d give Hofstot's Café Monaco a perfect 5 out of 5 for both food and atmosphere. If you’re in Oakmont, definitely stop by here, The Lot, or Pub 333 for a great meal.

I really don’t know what was wrong with our waitress tonight. she asked us if we wanted black pepper for salad and my partner said yes, and she never brought it. She also brought the wrong dressing when he was trying to be good. She was just very very surly. She asked us if we wanted Parmesan cheese at a one of those little shredding machines and we both said yes she reached a car my partners plate and dumped the cheese onto my pasta. We just want to get away for her so badly we decided not to have dessert there I know everyone has a bad day every every every once in a a while. The food was fine. It was nice. They had early but the service ruined the whole experience.

We ordered takeout tonight. I'm not sure how you screw up 2 wedge salads and bruschetta, but they definitely did. One salad had no dressing, the other had the wrong dressing. The bacon looked anemic. 2 pieces of the bruschetta had no cheese. So I basically paid $48.12 plus a tip for 2 heads of lettuce, some Bleu cheese and a butt ton of bread. Can't recommend this experience enough.

Love coming here for dinner. Always great food. Reservations are usually required though. Although they can accommodate you, you still get a little side eye for not making a reservation. But that's ok.
