The food was fantastic and everyone was waited on very well. We had tomato bisque which was served hot and it was very delicious. The braised meatballs served with beans, tomatoes and red peppers was new to me but also wonderful. The entrees were all a hit at my table. They do have kids portions just not an active menu. The glasses on my table had lip marks on them so I didn't drink from them and my social awkwardness wouldn't let me ask for new ones, though I'm sure the staff would have obliged, they were so nice. It smells a little to me as well but that may because I don't frequent places with full bars that often.

The chicken Marsala was very disappointing, I would not have guessed it to be Marsala.. I have no clue what it was … the bread was pretty bad but the salad was good, the service was ok
I don’t plan to return

This is a charming little restaurant, nestled near the river in Oakmont Pennsylvania. It has a warm inviting charm as you walk in the door. The waitress was awesome and attended to our every need. They have a full bar and the food was delicious. I met some friends there friends there for a girls night out. I can’t wait to go back there again and take my husband.

I've gone to a couple of the food and wine pairing dinners at the Mighty Oak Barrel.
Each time, the food was beyond my expectations! And the wine was perfectly paired to perfection!
I would highly recommend one of these dinners for a date night or girls night out!

Really lacking in the food and service. Very shorthanded on the floor and a little overpriced for the type of food being served.

I don't usually have reviews like this but this was my least favorite dining experience in the last 10 years. Every dish was bland. Absolutely no salt or seasoning on anything. The flatbread pizza was soggy with large pieces of tomato with seeds left in them, that slid off the flatbread. You never use the seeded part of the tomato when making pizza because of the juice it creates. The food is very overpriced for what you get. We waited 10 minutes before our server came to our table. Then it was another 10 minutes just to get water. There was also straw paper in my drink. All in all it took 1.5 hours to get all of our food. The place is very old, dark and very loud so it was hard to hear others in our party. Lastly, the small parking lot was full so we had to park on the street next to some bushes where passengers had to get out on a hill in the bushes. I would recommend that you save your time and money and dine somewhere else.

Back when we had friends living in a nearby riverfront condo (they've since moved to Virginia) we made several visits to The Mighty Oak Barrel. But it had been more than a few years since our last visit until we and another couple ate there prior to an excellent al fresco Quantum Theater production in nearby Verona. The restaurant has changed hands but quality remains high: food and service. We were able to occupy one of the handful of outdoor tables, which afford a splendid view of the parking lot. The interior space is attractive, with a large bar area to the right and tables to the left as your enter. One quibble: my pecan-crusted trout was surprisingly bland; I'd recommend a punchier sauce.

Exceptional food and service My favorite is the salmon with avocado basil citrus When I’m in the area I order 2 or 3 meals to go Yes, it’s that good

Excellent dinner with friends. Spaghetti and meatballs were delicious, as were the dinner salad and calamari.

Sweet little gem, off the beaten path in Oakmont back behind Speedway. Family run business with good food and friendly people. Has sandwiches, flatbreads, salads, pastas, and full meals. Full bar.
