The building is adorable. But I’ve only seen them open once. The prices aren’t posted. Ask before ordering or be prepared for the prices to be higher than expected.
WHAT A GEM!! We ate there this morning and were blown away by the entire experience. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by a warm, inviting space filled with beautiful plants that gave the café such a cozy, refreshing vibe. The food? Incredible! Every bite was flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. It’s honestly some of the best food we’ve had in a long time. And the service… top-notch! Friendly, attentive, and genuine. It made the whole experience even better. We already can’t wait to go back!!
My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to get some coffee since it was our first time at Ohiopyle and we happened to stumble upon this place while we were exploring and we weren’t disappointed! The girl taking our order was incredibly helpful, friendly, and courteous, and our drinks were delicious. My only issue with this place is that the prices are not posted and the cost was somewhat expensive for what you get but it’s cute and I would recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Excellent coffee and well made Latte. Baked goods were fresh and delicious. Staff were friendly and courteous.
Beautiful place and fantastic food and drinks! They have an appreciation wall where you can pay it forward or use one of the cards at the register. To stand in front of this wall and read the love shared by others is an overwhelming feeling that literally brought my daughter and I to tears. But to really read these cards you could hear other people sharing either their understanding/empathy of pain or struggles we face openly or silently. The ambiance and aesthetics of this place is so inviting. My husband and 3 grown children spent our last morning on vacation here for breakfast and it was such a wonderful end to our trip. Thank you for the work you and your staff do. It made us want to look further into the meaning behind your name which made us have even more of an appreciation for all of it. Bless Ryan Thomas and the short journey he had on this earth and bless the people he touched in this lifetime.
I eat at Bittersweet every chance I get. Listen, you’ll never go there and get your food and drink in ten minutes or less. It’s not fast food! The owners, the staff, the ambience, the food and the beverages are TOP TIER! It’s going to be a wait especially at peak times and it’s going to be pricey. Do you shop organic? Notice the price tags? It’s not cheap to eat well. At their Farmington location there is a wall dedicated to coupons whereby people donate money for people who can’t afford the full price tag or are just going through it. It’s a beautiful place. It was her mother’s antique shop moons ago and now she’s made it into a warm and cozy place to have gourmet meals made with love. The Ohiopyle location is only open wkds in the warmer months and if there is a festival. It will always be a little slower as there’s usually only one to two ppl there. It’s all that can fit tbh. Always worth the wait in my opinion.
Excellent atmosphere, keen attentive customer service, and unique regional dishes. Would recommend.
I really wanted to love this cafe as it’s so cute. After having gone twice, I’m not sure I will return. The first time we waited so long for a breakfast burrito that we ended up cancelling the order and leaving. The second time I ordered two coffee drinks and was stunned when the total was $17. Prices aren’t on the menu but I never could’ve imagined it would be so expensive. We also waited an incredibly long time for the coffees. This place has a lot of potential but something has got to be done about the wait times and please post the prices so people know what they are getting themselves into before ordering.

We hit it up right before closing time and they had ran out of an ingredient for a smoothie I wanted to order. I told them to take the main ingredient they did have and we got creative. What they came up with was amazing (along with the pulled pork grilled cheese) ... I joked that this new drink needed to be added to the menu and called "The Rob" .. lol
I appreciated the fun ordering turned into and that was truly one of the best grilled cheese combinations I ever had.
Stopped into Bittersweet this past Saturday. We were the first customers of the day. The Internet was down around town that day.(a common theme in this mountain town) non the less we had cash on hand so problem solved. We had the oppurtunity to talk with the owner and he told us alot of great stories about the area. The food was good I had a breakfast burrito. The interior of this cafe was very beautiful with wood paneling covering the walls. A nice outdoor eating area with plenty of seating under the trees. I'd recommended this place to any visitor in town. We will be back.

No complaints about the staff or the food itself but it really irritates me when shops don't post their prices. Got charged $33 for two food items and a drink. The breakfast sandwhich was the size of a small English muffin and the flatbread was just a small tortilla folded in half. Very little food for a surprisingly high price.
Its over priced, food took forever to be made and it wasnt even that good

This place looks so nice but it’s never open and there are no hours indicated anywhere in person or online.
Update: a question was asked many times. Plus it would have taken less time to update google business hours and post a note on the door than it took to reply to this review ?♀️ The review is for wasting peoples time by not caring to do that simple thing. It’s pretty silly to expect customer to keep chasing a businesses to find out when they’re open.
My husband and two girls went here for lunch. I noticed they didn’t have prices listed on their menu. We ordered 3 pulled pork grilled cheese and one avocado chicken. All stated that they were wraps but they were really just on a tortilla shell folded in half. We ordered 3 iced teas. Our total was $77. As I paid I was thinking…wow, I hope these are good. We waited a good half hour for our food. They were definitely very good. But I’m not sure if I’d go back because I don’t know exactly what everything cost. But I definitely think it was all overpriced.
Great experience here. After getting bad coffee around the corner, we got a couple espresso shots here. Friendly service and great coffee.
