“Fine Chinese restaurant with the typical dishes available. Staff is friendly and the service was good and quick. Only reason for 4 star instead of 5 is I did feel like this place has slightly higher prices then some others I've been to.“

“I ordered the Szechuan chicken lunch meal, which came with pork fried nice and an egg roll. It was ready very quickly (10 minutes), was piping hot, and delivered the heat without being overpowering. The pork fried rice also had nice chunks of pork and roughly chopped onion. Although the prices are slightly higher than the menu posted on Facebook, it’s still a good deal for lunch and I’ll be back since I work in the area. I just wish I got a fortune cookie with my meal though! LOL 🥠“

“I’ve been coming here for some time but last nights food was exceptional. There was what appeared to be an older married couple cooking and gathering the orders and the food was FANTASTIC. I will only come here from now on if and when this couple is preparing the food. The general tso, chicken and broccoli with cashew, fried rice, wonton soup and veggie lo mein were out of this world.

“This is the best chinese spot in Scranton PA!!! I’m originally from NYC and this brought me home. So good! Highly recommend! I had sweet and sour chicken with fried rice and my hubby had the fried crab sticks with house special fried rice and an egg roll. Everything was delicious and a good price as well. “By far the best in the area. Been going here for almost a decade and realized last night that I never did my part with a much deserved positive review. The food is always on point, down to the detail, ready when promised or faster, and the price is super reasonable. I went there tonight, they were slammed with only two people running the whole show. One person cooking, the other cooking, taking orders, answering phone, running the register and packing up orders. Didn't matter, they didn't miss a beat! Food was perfect, ready by the time promised and the employee I interacted with was very pleasant. If you're looking for good Chinese food in the Wilkes-barre/Plains area, this is the spot!

“This is my second time here because the first time I was blown away. This time they brought my food 🍱 I had the most random surprise..4 pieces of cake and a random container of pineapple…I literally just had a five year old wake up from a nap who’s birthday is this weekend so he totally thought it was meant for him, and then the pineapple! “i did not very much enjoy the food, but i am rating 5 stars anyways for these reasons as follows: from the strip mall location, sparsely decorated entry way, the chandelier on the cheap school ceiling, fake flowers and classic paper chinese zodiac placemats on the tables, and the music playing so softly it's almost silent inside save for the clink of forks and plates from the four or so tables in for lunch (forks, not chopsticks, provided) and friendly kitchen chatter just out of earshot, this place sends me directly back to 8-year-old nostalgia, when my father would take me to places like this on days together, back in texas, when life was easy and simple. prompt help, choice of seat. lunch specials (many to chose from) come with pork fried rice, (which i asked to not be included so to my dietary preferences (god-related) so i cannot rate this dish), a choice of soup, wonton chips with sweet-and-sour dip, and a pot of hot tea. the water arrives in a goblet. perhaps i should have studied the menu longer, but my choices were as such: very goopy and gelatinous and disturbingly tasteless beef chow mein (i attempted to sprinkle some pepper in hopes of helping the poor thing out, but way too much came out of the shaker and it was pepper chow mein from then on), and egg drop soup that was ok but still very bland. i dipped my wonton chips into a combination of the soup and sauce which i liked the best out of everything. i really liked the tea. point is, this amount of food is simply worth the $<9 price tag, and the service was helpful, thoughtful, friendly, and sweet. next time i will try something else.

Kid-friendliness: personally i believe children belong at home or at chuck e. cheese. there is a child of an employee here though, and they are quite polite and well-behaved.“

Sunny has hands down THE BEST wonton soup I've ever eaten.
A lot of times, the pasta for the wonton is very mooshey and soft... not Sunny. The pasta is perfect, the flavor of the meat inside has this very subtle, pleasant sweetness, and the broth is perfect. Flavorful but not too salty. A small wonton soup comes with 5 wontons and broth for $3.15. Thats such a good deal. I actually had wonton soup from Sunny 3 times this week. What can I say, it's AMAZING!!
Also, it's quick and easy pick up with their drive thru! Sooo convenient.

“Thank God this place is good because it's the closest to home! I rarely eat Chinese because I need to be in the mood for it wich isn't often it's really not a favorite of mine but I always get it here when I do want it for sure! my fiance hower is obsessed with chinese food & this place and would probably eat here every day if he could! The food is always hot, fresh, and delicious, They have a little station with sauces out so you can have as much as you want when usually other Chinese restaurants are skimpy on the sauce, It's clean, all the employees are very nice and friendly especially the youngest guy he's my favorite and I'm embarrassed I forget his name because he's told me but he's so sweet and funny! He also gave me a $20 tip when I was working at the subway across the street in Joe's gas station that was very kind and generous not many people would ever do that most don't tip at all and are rude! Anyway we Love China Star and it's employees! P.S MAKE SURE TO TIP WHEN YOU GO ! lol“

“We occasionally order for our office at work, typically $130-$160 order. Sprays hot always fresh always delicious. Delivery driver Pat is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet! I just wish they would answer their phone before 11am to be able to place our order and give them time to prepare it and get delivered by 11:45-12:00. Other than that, this place is our go to for Chinese every time. Highly recommended.“

“You will not find better Chinese food and service in the area. For a while, I enjoyed the buffet. This place was the hookup during college/covid. I can’t tell you how many nights this place has fed me. The price is reasonable, there are so many things to buy outside of the food, and the take out is actually amazing. I recommend the mango shrimp with lo mien instead of white rice. Best Chinese dish I have had. I am welcomed like family and will never forget this place. Whether you are in college, local, or passing by, give qqs buffet a try. They also deliver!

“HIGHLY recommend! Food was absolutely phenomenal. Prices are almost pre-covid and incredibly affordable. Especially for the huge portions you get! Their boba teas are to DIE for! And the service was super friendly, greeted everyone that walked in. I even noticed three separate people come in just to pick up sauces! I cannot express how authentic and clean and wonderful this restaurant is. The food and service absolutely make up for the small dining area. 10/10 recommend.

“Our go to spot. We always get the same thing 2x swt and sour chicken w/ rice and egg roll. Then I usually rotate an appetizer: the cheese wantons, boneless spare ribs(my fav) or the dumplings. Never takes long than 10-15 mins. Just know what you want when you cal because the gentleman who takes the order is kind of quite and awkward. But I recommend, especially if you decide you want Chinese last minute. You’ll never wait longer than 15-20mins“

“I love this place! The lady at the front that takes your order is soooo nice! The food is great! The woman who I saw sitting at the table behind the register, cutting food, was the cutest! She reminded me of my Gram when I was little. The food is awesome! I am glad this ace is on my way to work, because they make the food fast, and it's ALWAYS delicious!

**For the other review complaining the woman didn't have a hairnet-not required when their hair is long. And gloves, also not required when they wash their hands. But you're more than welcome to wear gloves and a hairnet next time u cook.

**For the insect leg review-very unlikely. Probably came from your house. You should get an exterminator!

**For the dirty fishtank review--some fish secrete excess amounts of ammonia, creating that type of tank. To constantly change a fishtank for these fish, can hurt them. Temperature changes, environmental changes, etc... what you consider an eye sore is less important than another being's life. You aren't swimming in it.“
