I moved to the area a little over a year ago and was looking forward to visiting this restaurant. I decided to take my niece for her birthday. Several of us ordered the shrimp pesto. The shrimp was so salty I couldn't even get beyond eating two of them. The service was a little slow even though there were several empty tables around us. We would recommend sitting outside because we were swatting flies off our food inside.
My actual rating = 4.4 / 5. Truly historic ambience. Very clean. Superb though slightly limited microbrewery selections on tap. Artisanal, though again a touch limited, selections on the food menu. The food offerings that I've tried have been very satisfying. Some selections a bit pricey to my mind: a bowl of soup and a draft about $20+ with tip. Meal for 6, including appetizer, drinks, and dessert was $250.00. Unfortunately, rather slow service - complaint by the birthday girl. We arrived at 6 pm, did not get served main course until 7:30 (this was with a reservation). Do not order eggplant parmesan. Chef does not know how to prepare Italian - two big, thick, chewy slabs of eggplant, doused with cheese. Mascarpone bacon dip arrived in a soup of oil, with dry bagels, not toasted (says niece) instead of toasted french...
