A refreshingly fancier vibe in fairmount, however forcing the pre-fix 3/4 course meal on customers is self-limiting and ruins the potential beautifully independent dining experience of a la carte literally everywhere else. Also I had a server tonight who took forever to take our order. Portions also leave more to be desired. This spot has so much potential if you remove all the rules and pick up the service and add a full bar (it’s BYO).

We went to a birthday dinner here a few days ago. The restaurant had no air conditioning and looked a bit run-down. The food was decent and creative. However, the set price for our group of 6 was very high, especially given the restaurant’s unkempt appearance and lackluster atmosphere. We probably won't return because of the high cost.

Great Italian/Mediterranean byob place. We've been going there every year for our anniversary, and it always delivers. Amazing food, nice portions, and reasonable prices.

tartare and prosciutto starters were wonderful, wish we could have skipped the pastas bc they were way too thick and lacked nuance/depth of flavor/body and made my mouth tired, pork shank was quite good but really could do without random slices of mealy apples that added nothing to the dish + it generally lacked something, desserts were really good esp the panna cotta. it was cozy and staff were really nice.

overall they need to work on the making their dishes more cohesive and satisfying. i don't love that it's a course menu that forces you to order desserts for each person - maybe they could offer a two course option or different tiers for the 3 course, or just offer a la carte idk. I felt it was very pricey for a rather mixed bag course menu, esp bc it is BYOB

We’d been here before many years ago and recently came this week. I honestly give the food a 3.8. Portion sizes were all over the place. Some food felt a bit underseasoned. And it was strange that they served coffee but had no cream. The environment is dark and oddly the lights were flickering quite a bit. Many of the dishes are heavy handed with the rosemary. Dishes i loved: branzino, pork belly, gnocchi. Dishes that were lacking: polenta, olive oil cake, rotolo. I wanted to like it more than i did but i think for the price I’ll likely go somewhere else.

My son and I came here for dinner on a Tuesday night. My son started with the pork belly with chickpeas, and I started with the peach Panzanella salad. Both were absolutely phenomenal. Our second dish was a pasta dish and my son had a cavatelli with broccoli Rabe and I had a Squid ink lumachi frutti de Mare. My pasta was a tad undercooked, and my sauce was a little sweet. That would be my only complaint with my dish. We then shared the pork shank, which was super tender and fall off the bone. For dessert, we had a Panna cotta and a olive oil lemon cake that was wonderful. For the amount of money that this restaurant charges it’s worth every penny. There are restaurants that are twice as expensive that are not nearly as good

Food was great with friendly service. The price fixed course was $48 and $68 for 3 dishes and 4 dishes respectively.

We started with the pork belly and beef tartare as appetizers, and the portions were more than generous—perfectly suited for three people. Both dishes were quite delicious and well-prepared.

For our mains, we opted for the Bolognese with whipped ricotta and the Fritti di Mare. Although the pasta in the Fritti di Mare was slightly undercooked, I actually enjoyed the dishes overall. They had a pleasant touch of spice and rich, flavorful broths that paired well with the sauces.

To finish, we tried the tiramisu and panna cotta. While the panna cotta was a bit too sweet for our taste, the tiramisu was truly a highlight—authentic and infused with just the right hint of espresso. A delightful end to the meal!

Really fantastic little BYOB on Fairmount. Delicious food, excellent service. Pasta, well everything, is cooked perfectly. The tiramisu is not my favorite but I know that my tiramisu taste tends toward the more creamy. Good bread, which is important to me.

The Prix fixe value is excellent, 3 or 4 courses. You will not go hungry.

So happy it’s in my neighborhood.

Food was very good. I love restaurants that serve homemade pasta.. Service was attentive and made good recommendations.

Charming little restaurant on a quiet corner in Fairmount. We chose the 3 course option (with a main-sized pasta and no heavier protein dish) but will absolutely be back for the 4 course!

My friends and I selected the 3 course experience, and were pretty satisfied with everything. I would say that everything that I have tried were in between great and excellent, and even if nothing was exceedingly spectacular, I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a pleasant Italian food experience!

The peach panzanella and the roasted beets were both pretty good, with the beets having enough whipped ricotta and vinaigrette to remove the beets' earthy flavor. I had the rigatoni bolognese for primi, and the pasta was very al dente, which was a plus! The sauce was a bit soupy, and sometimes it was a bit difficult to get the sauce on the rigatoni, but in terms of taste, it definitely had a good amount of flavor. Out of all the primi we have had, mine had the largest portion, and I was a bit surprised at the portion size for the potato gnocchi and the squid ink lumache. The roasted beets also had a very small size, which surprised me as well.

In terms of dessert, my friend thought the honey rosemary panna cotta was too sweet, while I thought the tiramisu had a very strong espresso flavor and the ladyfinger at the bottom was a bit too wet. But the mascarpone ratio was good and it still tasted good enough.

Service and atmosphere were both great! Our waiter was very attentive to our needs, and made a conscious effort to ensure our orders were correct. The place also had good decor and a good vibe for dates for those that are interested!

We loved it here! Both my husband and I got the 3 course meal, but I love that the whole table can choose whatever they want (if he wanted 4, I could still get 3). The food was tasty and portions fair, plus they even remind you to bring your own wine when you confirm your reservation. The pasta was perfectly al dente the way we like it and ending with dessert topped off the night. We would highly recommend for a cure date night or dinner out with friends - not the best for a large group.

We went to A Mano tonight for the first time. A group of six for a birthday. The food was okay to good to very good. However I was not pleased to be told that they require large groups to get the 4 course menu— which they clearly don’t because we promptly ignored that and ordered as we wished. Restaurant was hot and loud despite the fact it was less than half full. I wouldn’t return as I didn’t like the requirement of ordering courses. I rarely eat dessert. The most appealing part of the menu was the first courses and I would have preferred to order two and nothing else. Peach manzanella salad and burrata were excellent. As was the pork. Bolognese was not bolognese. It was a tomato sauce with a small amount of meat and none of the complexity of a bolognese. Desserts were excellent but we didn’t want or need six of them.

Came here for a birthday, was recommended by a friend. It was good but not the best i've had in philly. We had the Tasting menu, The branzino was to salty other dishes were great, some were a let down. Overall i will try this place again and hope that last time was just a human error.
