“Worth the wait. This was our last Philly Michelin m-starred restaurant to try. It’s the absolute best. The food was extraordinary and I’m already dreaming of my next meal there. My particular favorites included the buckwheat tart with morels and both pasta courses (one was an add on). Sadly I will now never feel satiated unless I’m eating Chef Schulman’s triangoli. A beautiful and intimate space with incredible care by the entire staff. Amanda Schulman was incredibly welcoming and engaged with the diners. Wine pairing was outstanding as was my Negroni made with Bruto Americano. The marzipan rhubarb cake was the stuff dreams are made of. So, so, so happy after this meal. Did I mention? Attentive and wonderful, wonderful staff. Thank you for an amazing evening!”

“The Love. was simply incredible! We came here with our 6 year old son. Our waiter was fabulous and very accommodating to our 6 year old which you don’t always find in Rittenhouse. The atmosphere was light and airy and the food was great! Make sure to try their Dubai Chocolate Sundae and if you’re going with children they do have special kids cups and will accommodate the menu for them.”

Not a single thing hit our table that we weren’t 100% impressed with. The after dinner drink he suggested was perfect. Monte negro or something I can’t remember but it’s wonderful. He will take care of you.”

The proteins are marinated and grilled, with simple but bold flavors expressed in the lingering colors of the sauces. The Remolacha was the sleeper dish. The paste of nuts under the golden beats were a refreshing new type of dish I'd never seen in this type of cuisine. One caveat, the small room makes it quit loud so be prepared to do a little shouting.”

Top three best restaurant experiences I’ve had in life. This restaurant has all the elements to achieve a standard-bearer of the best restaurant in the city and, potentially, qualify for the national league standing. The service is at the elite private club level; ambience is rightly detailed; music level and style meets you at the right notes.

One dish specifically, Black Pearl Mushrooms, moved and touched me where I could not bring myself to drink a glass of water because I didn’t want the flavor to disappear from my taste buds.

Focaccia bread set you on the right to have a great meal.

The meal finished with the peanut butter dessert. The chocolate is very well done. It is strong enough to hold its form yet it is delicate enough to melt in your mouth in such a way that coats the light peanut butter mousse creating an amplifying effect.

Biggest tip: get the tasting menu - yes, it is worth and yes, you will regraded if you dont go for it.”

“It's actually a bit bigger than the Little Italy in NYC and a bit different. Definitely worth an hour or 2 of walking through if you're visiting Philly. Lots of great produce being sold on the streets and sidewalks. A bunch of great italian restaurants and shops carrying imported ingredients that will make your cooking thay much better. Everyone is nice even if they don't seem to be, hah. You just have to realize that some of these workers are so amazing that they work at lighting speed by habit. Some may seem a bit cold while they ask what you want from behind a counter, but you'll get a smile in the process. Great people, great food, and a fun experience walking arounf the neighborhood. Do a lap first and take mental notes of places you want to go into during the 2nd lap!”

“Wholesome Deli is my go-to place for lunch, Its food is always fresh and delicious. Adel and Jane always spread joy with kindness its just a wonderful intermission in the middle of the day.”

“The pilaf is dry, the rice is always undercooked, and the pilaf itself is tasteless, lacking the wonderful, rich flavor that this delicious dish should have.
I recommend adding more salt when preparing the zirvak* adding more carrots (there clearly aren't enough in the dish), and steaming the rice until fully cooked. Currently, it seems the rice is undercooked by about 20%.

Update: The pilaf is much better now. I recommend it 👍”

“This was girlfriend and my second time going to DaVinci and Yu. We originally went because we won a gift card in a raffle, and we were reasonably skeptical of Italian Asian fusion food. With that said everything we've had has been absolutely amazing. At this point we've tried the ribs, salmon, meatballs, risotto, and dumplings. All of the meat has been tender and cooked to perfection with well balanced and interesting takes of tradition Asian and Italian sauces. Pairing with that we've tried most of the cocktails. They have a good mix of fruity modern cocktails and more classic cocktails, most which have a fun twist. I especially enjoyed the nonna and negroni. The staff is also incredibly friendly. It felt like being invited to a dinner party with that one friend who can cook, but with nicer decor.”

“Yes, it is actually open 24 hours. I have no idea how they do it considering how massive the menu is, but I’m so glad it exists. You can get nearly anything here - pancakes, smoothies, burgers, hoagies, gyros (which I highly recommend) - and watch them make it right in front of you. They’re pretty much always blasting music and in a silly mood. Doesn’t matter if it’s 4pm or 4am, the energy in this place is unmatched.”

The daughter enjoyed a generous sied freshly made pepperoni . And my "Soulful Sunday Dinner" was scrumptious! Half a chicken baked and bbqd' served w collard greens and black eyed beans and don't forget the cornbread. The staff were all very helpful and the dining room was a Disney Animators Palette!”

“My husband took me out to Philly for an early Mother’s Day gift. He said we were going to a “speakeasy” type bar in Chinatown but I didn’t believe him. When we got to an iron screen door, he was like this is it and I was like you got to be kidding me. The owner came out, asked my husband if he knew it was a cash bar took our ids then went inside. The owner brought back our ids then took us inside to a foyer where he told us the rules of the bar. Cash only, absolutely, no photography and no phones. If you need to take a phone call, you go back to foyer area or outside to not disturb people. We agreed to rules and went inside. The bar was dimly lit with candles on each table. The decor was amazing with pictures and antiques on the wall. We were sat at a table and given a cocktail menu. The cocktails were unique and separated by whiskey, gin, vodka and rum. If you need a light since it is so dim in the bar, they will bring you a light because they brought one to my husband. There were no beers on the menu so if that is what you’re looking for then this isn’t the place for you. We ordered our cocktails and they were amazing. Since there is no phone usage, you have more of an intimate experience with the person you are with because you aren’t distracted by your phone. We sat and talked while drinking our drinks. The owner came over and asked us about our drinks and how we were doing. We then ordered another round of drinks and continued talking. We enjoyed our time at Hop Sing Laundromat. Service was great, bartenders were great, owner was great, and the ambiance was amazing. This is a great date night spot for anyone who wants to enjoy a intimate setting with a cocktail or two. I would post pictures but again, No Photography so you would have to go in order to see it to believe it. You will enjoy this experience and not be disappointed.”

“An amazing little place!! It's alot darker inside then the pictures let on but honestly I really liked that about the place. You gotta make sure you get there early. We did and we're able to be seated within 10 mins. The staff are very nice and the drinks are great! I had gotten a bartenders choise. They asked me preferences and made me something called a deep blue sea, it was really good. I very highly recommend this place its super cool!!!”

It was much smaller than I expected but the Bourdain signs and country music told me we were in the right place. Cooper Sharp fried cheese squares with fresh sauce were outrageously good. Cheesesteak with Cooper sharp and cherry peppers did Philly proud. Loved the seeded roll too. Definitely will be back. Service was friendly and attentive. A really great Sunday afternoon.”

“I recently celebrated a milestone birthday with a dinner at Elwood with family and friends. Chef Adam and Jenny were wonderful to work with and the meal was absolutely delicious. Everyone loved the venison scrapple amuse bouche. We shared several orders of perogies and cheese platters to kick off the meal, followed by a couple of orders of the tri- tip beef, the sea bass, and the rabbit, which are served family style with a whole host of accompaniments, including exceptional mashed potato that got rave reviews and deserves it's own mention. Several of the diners had never had rabbit, but they all tried it and it was a hit! I already have plans to come with some friends for an afternoon tea, and my husband and I will definitely be back for dinner and/or one of the dining events that Chef Adam hosts. “Our first experience at a James Beard award winning restaurant (2017) and chef was incredible at Vernick Fish in Philadelphia to celebrate Trent’s graduation! I know now what this caliber of food and service means and all other restaurants pale in comparison to Vernick Fish and Greg Vernick(semi-finalist chef 2025). From the appetizers (dozen oysters from RI, MA, ME, PEI) to the drinks and main course were all uniquely exquisite and cannot be replicated anywhere else. The constant doting with new silverware at each course and cleaning of the table was undeniably royalty treatment. Even the bathroom was an experience-I need the hand lotion in my life (instantly made my hands look 30 years younger). The portions, ambiance and service were all equally perfect! I highly recommend you check out Vernick Fish. We will definitely return!”

“I absolutely love Taco Heart! Having lived in Austin for many years, I often crave authentic breakfast tacos and jalapeño crema salsa, both of which can be hard to find. Taco Heart is my GoTo spot now that I live in Philadelphia. The food and drinks, the vibe, the music, and the location are all exactly right.

One recent Saturday, Nano even let us stay in the restaurant well past closing time while a strong storm blew through. We got to sit inside, warm and dry, and watch the torrential wind and rain and eat his delicious food. It was amazing.

I’ve tried a few places that just didn’t hit the mark—but AL SHAM in Chalfont is a straight 10/10!! They serve real Arabic bread (pita)—not tortillas disguised as pita like you find at other places—and their homemade Lebanese toum (garlic aioli) is the real deal. One bite of their falafel wrap instantly transported me to a boardwalk in Lebanon, overlooking the Mediterranean—complete with fresh bread, Lebanese pickles, and those perfect pickled turnips. The meat is 100% Halal and you can taste the quality. Flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. **This is the kind of spot you want to support. We’ll be back again and again—do yourself a favor and try them ASAP**”

The quesabirria with consommé was absolutely delicious—rich, juicy, and packed with authentic taste. And let me tell you, this place is a Gotham-sized slice of Philly flavor! The fluorescent lights and bustling energy felt like a scene straight outta Joker's Gotham night club. I went with the classic "Whiz Without"—that's Philly code for a cheesesteak with Cheez Whiz and no fried onions, for all you Bat-fans out there. One bite, and I was hooked. The thinly sliced steak, melty cheese, and soft roll created a symphony of flavors that would make even the Penguin surrender his lunch money. But Geno's ain't just about cheesesteaks, folks. Their cheese fries, ordered from the separate window where you get fries and sodas, are a gooey, delicious crime against healthy eating. Coke products available to drink. And Cherry peppers, relish, ketchup, and mustard are free and self-serve. While I devoured my feast, I couldn't help but notice the wall adorned with police patches from across the U.S. – a tribute to the thin blue line that reminded me of my own crusade for justice. Snapped a pic in front of it, a symbol of the shared fight for good that unites us all. Overall, Geno's Steaks lives up to its legendary reputation. Prices are reasonable for the city, and 4-6 is happy hour so I came at the right time for great prices and drinks and appetizers. Would definitely recommend! Plus this is walking distance to many nice hotels downtown. Only 5 min walk from the Kimpton Palomar! Would recommend calling ahead to ensure availability.”

There are other things besides cheese steak and pretty sure they have drinks and beer. Order in the right window, when your order is ready they display your name on the screen and announce it on Mike/speaker and you pick up in the left window. It's CASH ONLY and there are no seats inside, some tables outside. We parked on the street and walked over, no designated parking lot. Staff was very nice. Our server, Bre, was fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without ever being intrusive, she made the entire experience feel personal and effortless. Every course was explained with enthusiasm, and her positive energy elevated an already incredible meal.

A special shout-out as well to the managers, Kinsey and Ashlyn. It’s easy to see that they have built a culture where hospitality comes first. When the leadership sets the right example, it shows in every interaction with the guests.

“Came with a friend of mine who had been here before and thoroughly enjoyed. She was not wrong! Truly a fantastic recommendation. I wanted some chirashi and it was divine here. I loved the presentation and the fact that the egg was not in a big chunk (as it usually is at other establishments) but cut into small pieces for a hint of sweet flavor throughout. I sat at the bar and demolished the chirashi (which I didn’t even get a picture of because I ate it too quickly). Will definitely be coming back to try other things on the menu.”

“I've been in Philly 16 years, and eaten at every major fine dining restaurant in the city, many more than once. Amada, Zahav, Budakkan, Vernick Fish, you name it. Every Stephen Starr. Every Michael Solmonov. Every Jose Garces. This is the best meal I have ever eaten in my life. The carrots, the beets, the mushroom taglioli, the tuna tartar, the beef carpaccio tartlet, the duck, the liver mousse, the steak...I could go on. Every single bite was either perfect or nearly so. Both of my daughters and my wife said the same. We talked about our top dining experiences in Tokyo, Paris, St. Petersburg, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Miami, Chicago, there have been so many, many good meals in our life. “Stumbled upon this bakery on a walk. The pastry options were different than you normally see at other places. There was a more unique variety.

I tried the Carrot Yogurt Safeha $7 (roasted carrots, topped with herby yogurt sauce, zatar, walnuts, and olive oil). This was delicious! I ate the first half heated and the second half hours later. Still delicious! The carrots were soft and sweet. The yogurt was not too overpowering.

I plan to come back for another one and to try some other options!

Lahm B'ajin (ground beef and spices fulled topped with rahini, onion sumac and green salad) $8 - enjoyed this but would opt to try something new next time. It was heated up but maybe it would have been better if the beef was warmed up a little long”

“Ama would be a viral must go to in Mexico City. The fact it’s here in Philly is a gift. Ama never disappoints. The food is highly elevated Mexican cuisine. It’s like being in a Mexican family home and served the best of the best. My favorite is the Tuna Tostada. The swordfish tacos are elite. I highly recommend the Lamb Neck Birria. It’s so freaking good. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The owner and his wife are there most nights and run a beautiful, inviting restaurant.”
