Vernick Food & Drink provides a memorable dining experience with delicious dishes, from the excellent drinks and Maine oysters to the tagliatelle crab appetizer and swordfish. The restaurant is known as a beautiful and celebratory place, with a friendly atmosphere and attentive service. Customers often praise the creative and perfectly paired flavors, highlighting the sinfully good tuna, Jack, and beef tartar, as well as the strong flavors and beautiful presentation in every dish. The menu offers many great choices, making it a popular spot for dinner in Philadelphia. Sitting at the counter allows diners to watch the chefs work with skill and grace, adding to the overall experience. The service is warm, attentive, and thoughtful, and each dish, from the oysters and blue crab to the Thai-spiced lamb chops and pasta special, impresses. The blueberry pie with basil ice cream is a perfect ending to an exceptional meal. The restaurant's kitchen is on top of its game, with creative and expertly prepared food that has earned high praise, including standout dishes like smoked duck breast and crispy veal katsu. The upstairs dining room is surprisingly quiet and uncrowded for a Center City location, and the vibe reflects pride in being the best. The bartender's Old Fashioned is highly recommended for bourbon lovers. Overall, Vernick Food & Drink is considered one of the very best restaurants in Philadelphia and is not to be missed.
