“Riley K was the best server we’ve had at a restaurant in a while, we basically let him order for us and he hit it out of the park. It would be wise to request him if you can. His knowledge and passion for the food is exceptional. He certainly made the experience one to remember. The Dorade was amazing, the skirt steak also incredible. The brown sugar ice cream is 10/10. Not a single thing hit our table that we weren’t 100% impressed with. The after dinner drink he suggested was perfect. Monte negro or something I can’t remember but it’s wonderful. He will take care of you.“

“Imagine your best local authentic Mexican restaurant but elevate its atmosphere and execution. The tortillas are literally some of the best I have had, so soft and chewy with dimples of char. The proteins are marinated and grilled, with simple but bold flavors expressed in the lingering colors of the sauces. The Remolacha was the sleeper dish. The paste of nuts under the golden beats were a refreshing new type of dish I'd never seen in this type of cuisine. One caveat, the small room makes it quit loud so be prepared to do a little shouting.“

“I was in the area for work searching for a vegan spot - as one does. My first day attempts were a bust. But, on day two, I happened up Say She Ate. And I say, SHE ATE! The food is delicious! I had a bowl with chickpeas and veggie curry. I even went back the next day to make sure I had the chance to try the popcorn samosas before I headed out of town and back home. I'm glad I did! The bite-sized samosas are tasty and the tamarind sauce is a great combination of sweet and spicy. Both visits I made sure to grab a mango lassi. I don't actually eat things with added sugar or sweetness much anymore, but as a vegan, mango lassi is almost never an option- regardless of my sugar issues. There's is so good (and refreshing after a 30 minute walk in 90° weather!). If they add sugar, it must be very little which is perfect for me. Tasted like mango and yogurt - as it should - instead of a glass of sugar. Definitely recommend visiting this spot when you're in the area. Super cute, great ambiance, and awesome service as well!“

“Philly's got some solid vegan restaurants but in my experience, this is the only one where Dr. Michael Greger may drop in to see Chef Alice and crash your lunch party. But that's not even my favorite part about this place — it's a cafe really devoted to the mission of nourishing health through good food. A lot of the meat-free restaurants in town serve tasty food but aren't exactly in the ballpark of WFPB — whereas Joy is looking to add years to your healthspan... without selling short on flavor! Alice is a quintessential crusader restaurateur. I also appreciate the gluten-free options, and I congratulate myself for the dignity I exhibited last visit when I abstained from eating the paper wrapper of my blueberry muffin in desperation to get every crumb down.“

“Great Sports Bar! Plenty of TVs in their main bar area and both dinning rooms. I would absolutely recommend you get the burger. It was packed full of greens, with the lettuce sauteed onions and grilled eggplant, but balanced it nicely with a big meaty patty and delicious house sauce. The fries were also exceptional, potentially double fried and thick cut, these steak fries were crispy and the perfect compliment to the burger. Staff was friendly and attentive and the neighborhood was cute!“

I’ve tried a few places that just didn’t hit the mark—but AL SHAM in Chalfont is a straight 10/10!! They serve real Arabic bread (pita)—not tortillas disguised as pita like you find at other places—and their homemade Lebanese toum (garlic aioli) is the real deal. One bite of their falafel wrap instantly transported me to a boardwalk in Lebanon, overlooking the Mediterranean—complete with fresh bread, Lebanese pickles, and those perfect pickled turnips. “Gran Caffe L’Aquila has a beautiful atmosphere and some genuinely excellent products. The latte was expertly made with gorgeous latte art, and both the coffee and gelato were absolutely delicious. You can tell they take pride in the quality of what they serve.
Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the food and drinks. Most of the staff came across as dismissive and unfriendly, which took away from what could have been a wonderful experience.
The only one exception to this was Luca, who was welcoming, professional, genuinely kind, and knowledgeable. He made us feel appreciated as guests and stood out in the best way possible.
At the end of the day, hospitality is about making people feel welcome.
The rest of the team could certainly take note. If the level of service matched the quality of the coffee and gelato, this would easily be a five-star experience.“
