About El Chingon Philly

El Chingon Philly is a popular Mexican restaurant known for its delicious food, especially its oranges, which are considered the best in town. The menu offers a variety of authentic Mexican dishes, including the standout Torta Milanese, Salmon Ceviche, and Tacos Arabes. The arrachera tatemada al pastor tacos, featuring super charred and flavorful skirt steak on flour tortillas, are a must-try.

While some dishes like the guacamole and quesabirra tacos may be hit-or-miss, the overall experience at El Chingon is worth it. Customers praise the restaurant's fresh seafood options and unique flavors, setting it apart from typical Mexican eateries. The vegan enchiladas and tuna aguachile are particularly noteworthy, described as flavorful and impeccable. The remolacha, with goat cheese crema and avocado, has also been highlighted as a meal favorite.

The service at El Chingon is a highlight, with customers commending the friendly, attentive, and welcoming staff, including Noelia, who is known for being kind and accommodating. The restaurant’s cozy and clean environment adds to the dining experience. The cheesecake is a delicious sweet ending to any meal, and the restaurant offers a BYO option for tequila, with creative cocktail mixes available. With no parking lot, finding street parking nearby is recommended. El Chingon is a must-visit destination for those looking for an adventure in authentic and innovative Mexican cuisine.

You can read a proper writeup of this place from Michelin, so I won't waste anyone's time here. Let's just say I order this food dozens of times a year. You can't go wrong for authentic Mexican in Philadelphia.
Enjoyed the Cemita! Towering puebla style sandwich
A bit underwhelmed. The meat was done properly, flavorful, good bread, but I've had better cemitas in Philly. They are highly rated, the cemita I got was good but not anything I would go back for.
