“OMG I was walking by this restaurant and smelled the good food. I had to stop in. I ordered the curry chicken dinner, yams and collard greens and rice and beans . Amazing is an understatement . I had never had curry chicken made that way before. It was so so so good. I'll be back tomorrow to try the mac and cheese. A MUST GO TO .“
“Tierra Colombiana is an amazing spot for Latin cuisine! The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, making it a perfect place for dining out. The menu is filled with authentic dishes that are both delicious and beautifully presented. Every visit feels like a delightful culinary journey through Latin America. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy fabulous flavors and a great dining experience!“
“I love Zion's Cuisine. It is a neighborhood gem and I will miss it if/ when I move out. I usually get brown stew chicken, beef stew, or pepper steak. The food is affordable, delicious, and healthy, and a large platter is good for 2-3 big meals (I do use rice from home to stretch it). Zion's is my go-to when I don't have the time or energy to make something decent for myself. No restaurant review is complete without a criticism, so: I wish they made it clear what is available each day. This goes for all Jamaican spots, but it seems like every day there is something they don't have. Knowing what's available with an updated list (instead of an interrogation at the order counter) would also give me the opportunity to try dishes I haven't before, such as their soups and breakfast items. Also, although their cabbage is the best Jamaican cabbage I've ever had, when I get cabbage and greens as sides I wish they would put my greens in the little slot for sides instead of always the cabbage. I end up with enough cabbage for two meals but only one meal worth of greens. Maybe greens are more expensive for them.. I will ask to pay extra for this next time and see what they say.Overall, Zion's is my favorite restaurant in the area and I am already looking forward to the next time I fall woefully behind on my food prep.Dietary restrictions: Easy to eat gluten- and dairy-free“
“Some of the best Dominican food you're gonna find anywhere outside the island.Spectacular food made fresh every day and a wide variety of dishes and drinks. They used to be cash only, but have an ATM inside and now accept card payments.Definitely my favorite place in the city. Try the mofongo with roast pork. It's extra garlicky and packed with flavor. The rice and beans are always perfect, and so is their pernil (pork shoulder). The appetizers are also worth checking out.Small place, and it gets crowded quick. Totally a place to visit if you're in the city or curious about Dominican food.Vegetarian options: Not many options, but the few that are available are great.Parking: Really depends on time of day.“
“i love yu Ms Wendy , i ran to this store after seeing reviews on tik tok and i was not disappointed.. i ordered pepper steak rice cabbage and a side of yams ,, yu can literally taste the generations of love in the food . the meat is tender the yams tasted like i was on the island and the cabbage was refreshing,, the food will put yu in a coma i love this place because it has a different taste than all the other caribbean restaurants that all taste the same .. i will be back shortly definitely 10/10 i respect a black woman making it happen but more importantly yu can taste and feel the love ,, definitely a hidden gem- yur niece“

“Wonderful place for a nice romantic meal!Hubz and I decided to try this place for an anniversary lunch. Although you wouldn't be able to tell from outside, this is a nice, quiet little gem.We were seated immediately by our waiter. (I must say, I was surprised that the only waiter in this black establishment was white), just something I noticed. He was really nice and welcoming.Their menu can be found online by scanning a QR.It's pretty straightforward. They have a nice selection of creative dishes. We ordered some wings for appetizers.I ordered Shrimp and Chicken Rasta Pasta. Hubz ordered the fish and waffles dish. He got a ginger beer, and I got a tropical ginger juice. The meal was delicious! Everythingwas seasoned and cooked perfectly!Compliments to the chef! 5 ?After our meal, the owner (I believe) came by and told us about a Valentines Day event they were having with a live band and specials.Along with all my normal ones, we had to take a pic with our waiter as well because he was so friendly.“
“Great food! We had the jerk chicken and the surf and turf. The portions were huge and well worth the money. Slightly disappointed that they were out of plantains, but the other side dishes were very good. The cocktails were ok and on the cheaper side.“
“Calabash is another one of our frequent favorites! We stop in regularly for their Sunday brunch and BAY-BEE…They NEVER disappoint! The staff are attentive and check in throughout your dining experience to ensure you have everything you need and everyone is always so friendly. The dining and food areas are always clean and well organized. The space is large and decor is simple. This is a great open space for dining during COVID as all the tables are well spaced out allowing parties to social distance. All staff wore gloves and masks today. We loved to see Calabash doing their part in keeping their customers and staff safe. One thing about Calabash, they are always going to offer a variety of options to choose from. Choosing what to eat is the hardest part because literally everything looks so amazing. It’s all about how much space you can save in between plates. From home fries to oxtails, EVERYTHING is amazing and satisfies that Island food craving! Sunday brunch also includes bottomless mimosas and I absolutely LOVEEEE mimosas! The pancakes are fluffy and remind me of funnel cake; thy are made so perfectly every time. THIS PLACE DOES NOT MISS! The fish is always fried to a perfect golden brown and very dish is flavorful and savory.Calabash will continue to be on my list of repeats! Check them out and be sure to make it to next Sunday’s Brunch!“
“Georiganna is a gracious restaurant owner. She made sure we had our food just the way we requested it. The food was very tasty. The cabbage is the best. Like none I have ever had. Serving size was good too. You will not be disappointed with the food. Will revisit again very soon.Vegetarian options: Cabbage, beans and rice, mac and cheese, plus more.“
“They always have Chicken Foot Soup, and they are VERY affordable. I love this place! Soup made daily, so it's always fresh.Wheelchair accessibility: There are no stairs, and it is located on the ground floor. Easy access for someone in a wheelchair.“
“It's really good hispanic food. I would say one of the best in Philly. Keith Lee should visit because it really slaps everytime. However, its always busy and its a tight space. The ladies work and speak fast seemingly if you're not spanish speaking person so it can feel a little rushed ordering.“
“We've stopped by El Balconcito II on Castor Ave for a Sunday lunch - it was packed! Very popular with locals. They offer Portugese and Peruvian food - we enjoyed the Ceviche and Chorizo a lot. Ceviche was fresh and Chorizo came out - served in flames. Delicious! Staff are friendly and portions are huge! We've ended up ordering too much and had to ask for boxes to take them home.“
“Loved it! Two of us shared a lunch of spring rolls and pholourie appetizers and chickpeas potato, pumpkin, and butter paneer. It was clearly Indian influenced but distinctly different from a typical Indian restaurant. The flavor was awesome. The decor is very pleasing. It was quiet in the restaurant. With food that good there should have been a line to get in.“
“The food is delicious, the kitchen is immaculately CLEAN and the ladies who served us were patient and friendly. We got escovitch fish, ox tails (seasoned to the bone and tender ? ? ) Mac & cheese with cabbage, curried goat and brown stew chicken with rice and peas. The portions are large and the prices are VERY reasonable.I highly recommend this restaurant.“
“Been passing by this gem for a few weeks and finally came in. Small place but very cozy! The staff was also fantastic! The food was fantastic as well! Got a delicious oxtail and jerk chicken. It was spicy , it has been awhile since I had some, even spicy I did enjoyed the food!“
“The review ain’t never lied! First time trying this place today, I ordered on Uber eats and the food is amazing. Seasoned to perfect, meat is tender, and nothing is dry at all. I got the jerk chicken and the brown stew chicken literally everything on both platters was amazing!!!“
“Delicious food welcoming atmosphere and lovely staff! had ribs (Smokey and sweet) chicken (crispy and tasty) Mac and cheese (savory and just bussin) yams (might as well be dessert) only regret didn’t try it!! Next time my friends deff coming back!! MOE RECOMMENDS THIS!! Good parking right on side TRUCKER FREINDLY small trucks not 18 wheelers 0.o“
“Been here twice , been AMAZING both times! Fair prices, big portions, delicious food. I just happened to be walking by the first time, and it was so I had to come back. I got the Jerk Chicken, rice and beans, and sweet yams. A top takeout spot for sure.“
“This is THE BEST Jamaican food in Philadelphia and has been FOR DECADES. It has always been consistent in terms of service and quality of food.Their curry and jerk dishes are my go-to. It never disappoints and is as close as u will get to authentic Jamaican food in Philly. The cooks have always been very nice.Treat this as a takeout spot. It is cash only. While they have seating, just grab ur food and go LoL.“
“This place is Caribbean and all the best ways. Please note that when you get there the kitchen might be closed. The staff is not rude but they're also not super friendly. Anyone who has had a fantastic experience at a Caribbean eatery can tell you that most of the staff were absolutely rude to them. In fact, in some communities there is a direct correlation between the rudeness of the staff and the fantastic flavor of the food. Every time I go here when the kitchen is open I get a shrimp roti. It is fantastic. It is like chicken soup for the ravaged soul or homemade macaroni and cheese or homemade chicken pot pie on a winter's evening after a long day's work. It is fantastic. Please go get it if you can.“
“Playlist was popping from the jump.8am-12:30p Mon-Sat is Breakfast ?Follow @swadekartel for the menuOrder was quick & easy.Platter was BOMB, okay?! Don’t hesitate on the French toast bites. They don’t even need syrup ??I got turkey bacon, fried eggs & potatoes.Everything cooked to perfection ?I forgot to grab the banana pudding ? so I’ll definitely be back for more ?“
“Food is always fresh, cabbage is some of the best I've ever had. My only dislike is the j*** chicken when they cut it they don't clean lil pieces of fragmented chicken bones. Other than that everything else is great!Vegetarian options: Cabbage rice and beansParking: Parking can be hard to find depending on the time of day.“
“My favorite from Tropical Choice is the curry chicken or oxtails. This restaurant never lets me down. The food is always hot, ready and delicious! The quality of the food is ALWAYS A1! The owners of this restaurant are always polite and patient! LOVE IT HERE“
“We Live across the street from the recently opened FYAHSIDE. My Son n his buddy went over to check it out n try their food. Well you could say they haven't ordered food from anywhere else since then. From what I tasted I was kinda surprised at great it was! Mac n Cheese, I think it was almost the best I've tried from everywhere else. And the Jerk Chicken melted in your mouth, was absolutely perfect. It's a shame it's in an off location. So I'm glad to see all the food delivery services carry them. We can walk across the street. In fact My son is there now!?????❣️“
“Straight (3) 5 stars well deceit restaurant. Love the food, Mac & cheese, Yams and Jerk Chicken so delicious! Take a chance with it, a pure gem. Had to travel out to Camden NJ for my soul food, found something better, cheaper and best of all very close to home.“
“SOO GOOD!! Ordered via ubereats. My food was hot, fresh and delicious when I got it. The container was wrapped in saran wrap, so there was no leaking mess. The mac and cheese had pull! I ordered the fried chicken platter with rice and peas and cabbage, a side of mac and cheese, a beef patty and a chicken patty. ALL WERE DELICIOUS and seasoned to perfection.“
“I love family spot it took me a longtime to find a Jamaican store who food love they gave you quantity and great portions for your money also the store is always I mean always clean. No speck of dirt have I ever spotted in this restaurant to me that’s a big plus.Kid-friendliness: They do not have any signs that states kids are unwelcome so kids are welcomeParking: Every time I go, I get a parking spotWheelchair accessibility: The entrance is a flat surface“
“I just ordered a large lamb chop platter with Mac and cheese and cabbage picky as I am with food I love jam rock food so much its always well seasoned tender and made with love ❤️ I appreciate all the ladies at jam rock who work hard to deliver the best Jamaican food I ever had I also appreciate the order taker today she's so kind and sweet and even in person I'll never stop buying your food and hope yall never leave .. if u do leave I wanna go ?“
“Picked up food for my sisters B day dinner. Got 3 platters and a couple of sides to feed 6 people. We all ate twice and still had left overs! Everyone loved the Arroz con Gandules it was so flavorful. We got 2 platers with Arroz con gandules y pernil and 1 with Arroz blanco , habichuelas y bistec encebollao. Also ordered an order of each of Maduros, guineos con cebollas and chicharon. All this for under $50! Service was on point and with a smile. Place is clean and number system is perfect to keep order and know when it's your turn because it can get busy and chaotic. They expanded and closed off the wait area to have customers out of the elements and be more comfortable while you wait to be served.. Parking can be a challenge but we'll worth it.. I highly recommend this place.“
“The food is finger licking and the service is excellent and the owner mrs Rushaine smith she's a Rae of sunshine she just makes you wanna come back not only for the delicious food but for her warm greeting that she greets you with it just makes your day please if you haven't been there go and experience it for yourself you won't regret it.“
“So I love Jamaican food, preferably Curry goat. I was craving some for lunch today my and Blue Lagoon was less than a minute from job. I seen it had pretty good reviews but wanted to try for my self. I was not disappointed. The owner was very nice and Holds his service and food to a very high standard for his customers. He has a open kitchen so you can see everything in the back and it was so clean. I got a curry coat platter with rice and peas Mac and cheese and a Tingz grapefruit soda. Everything was delicious I had so much food, it ended up being my dinner too! Will definitely be back very soon! I spent about $23 on my food and drink and left him a $3 tip.“
“Hands down one of the best Jamaican spots around. The owner/cook reminds me of the dad from the Sean Paul-Get busy video. ?,,,I’ve had the curry chicken, the fish but my favorite is the jerk chicken. He grills that chicken to perfection every time! The mac n cheese is always good af to even they do give you the end of the pan.“
“The food was very good. The oxtail were very tender falling of the bone. The platter had a lot of rice and peas and cabbage. I had a medium platter. The only thing I wish was different was the amount of the meat. It only had 4 oxtail in the platter.“
“Haven’t been here in a while but today I had 2 snapper platters and a pepper steak platter ? omg can u say delicious fish was made to order my greens I think I’m addicted and those peppers were everything I’m not a big fan of the Mac but everything else was great oh and the gentleman that took my order was handsome and polite can’t wait to go back!“
“This honestly is one of the better spots that I have eaten from. I wish they were open on Sunday's tho ??, but I understand that everyone needs time to recover from a busy week and prepare for the next. I always get the Oxtails over white rice, and collard greens and they have yet to fail. I typically order thru uber eats and the food is always fresh, hot, and on-time when it arrives. I've tried the Mac & cheese, sometimes 50/50 with that. The j*** chicken is very good, the rice and bean's are not dry like other places. I've had the curry goat and it is tender, man oh man. I really wish they were open right now ?. Keep up the amazing work you all do. Peace ??“
“First time ordering here I ordered the large curry chicken with white rice cabbage and two jerk rolls...Portion nice amount of meat no complaints about the platter. Nowwww the jerk rolls my fiancee swallowed his he said it's spicy I was into the second bite I said ohh no I can't do it lol leave that to the spicy eaters lol“
“Found this treasure place when I was looking for Dominican/ Mexican food for lunch at work. Really really good slow cook ribs. I really want to know how they seasoned it even there might be some recipes online. When you chewing the chicharrones the juice/fat just come out and it taste really really good.Ribs/ chicharrones(crispy slow cook pork belly), rice and beans, salad, and maduros(sweet fried plantains) for $13.Do not go to Applebees, TGI Fridays, McDonald’s, meals from local tea like this gives you better and healthier choices, and they deserved more customers.Part of ribs and chicharrones(the part doesn’t include much fat) became too hard/too dry to eat after long time cook, some of them are not eatable anymore since it’s too hard. There should be a way to avoid this problem. As I know the Cantonese type Chinese BBQ restaurant has slow cook ribs and crispy pork belly too (with different seasoning of course) , but theirs doesn’t have this problem, and pork belly are perfectly brown. I don’t know how they do it. Maybe cover meat with aluminum paper and be more accurate at the timing and temperature by cooking them not as long as Latin chicharrones(chicharrones taste harder/crispier). If you try pork belly from both restaurants you will know what I meant“
“This restaurant catered to all of my Caribbean/Jamaican desires! The food was exquisite ?. I ordered the curry goat platter, BBQ ribs platter, and for dessert I had the bread pudding with rum sauce ?! All was soooooo delicious and I can't wait to order again! Everything was freshly made & packaged properly. Customer service was amazing ?!Kid-friendliness: They have an excellent kids menu“
“This has been my Spanish food place for at least 7 years now. I remember when it was a convenience store that sold food in the back now they have converted the whole store into a restaurant. The owners are pretty cool they know me by face, that to say one day I forgot my wallet and she just let me take the food and just paid the next time I was in there. FYI they open early and by 1pm they start getting ready to close, or the food has been sold out TRUST ME so get there early.“
“Out of a lot of different places, I went this place, definitely answers to the Trinidadian culture. All their food takes me back To my trip to Kingston a bit. The oxtail was some of the best oxtail I’ve ever eaten, and they gave me a very nice size platter. The food was very affordable and I will be back.“
“We stumbled upon Zum Zam a few months ago. The food is amazing! We ordered a smorgasbord of food and everything was absolutely delicious! We live an hour away and are back for more! We are more than satisfied with their food, service and welcoming vibe.“
“Purchased an array of meals for a party last minute and everyone loved the food. Oxtail (10/10), curry goat (10/10), j*** chicken (10/10), pepper steak ( 8/10)...it could have been a little softer but flavor profile was great.... Fried chicken was the only big miss (2/10)..... the rice and beans and cabbage was also great. Everyone said they would go again. Customer service was great. Very professional on the phone and in person. And food prepared at the time discussed. We will definitely be there again. The facility was clean. Though I did not sit in, I noticed tables and chairs for those who may want to.“
“Food is Okay , sometimes the curry goat is too spicy to the point you cant taste the food! the mac and cheese doesn't have flavor ! I recommend the cabbage over the greens ! Beef patty's are good! Fried chicken sometimes too soggy !“
“After arriving back into the United States ??, it was time for a well deserved snack. The airlines don’t offer more than a few cookies and a beverage. After more than 4-hours of travel, it was time for break before heading home ?. The cinnamon pretzels were delicious and enjoyable.“
“Very good, I had the curry chicken, collard greens and sweet potatoes. Everything was delicious very flavorful! The sweet potatoes are on the VERY sweet side, not sure if it was nutmeg or too much vanilla but still very good, just too sweet for “
“This is my #1 favorite brunch spot in all of Philadelphia for 15 years. It's always a clean and chic venue. The food & drinks are quality, great presentation, and well-priced and portioned. The staff are professional and personable, with the perfect blend of attentiveness to serve while providing privacy for you to enjoy your company and meal. If I had to give one negative, it is only that I don't live closer to go here everyday. Pictured is the Gallo Pinto (my favorite breakfast), Don Julio Anejo, Mixto Margarita, Passion Fruit Mimosa, and the plantain chips & guac.“
