Selected this place because it was minority-owned by a black woman and not bad reviews. I had the whiting, mac and cheese, collard greens and sweet potato pie. I thought I would take something back to the hotel, but it was all so good that nothing was left. The extra touches were that I loved seeing the food when I made my selections, the restaurant was clean and the owner was very engaging. I highly recommend.
This was one of the better soul food spots in Philly and that's saying a lot cause I'm from Texas. There was one person running this kitchen and she was so friendly and threw it down in the kitchen. I got the whitening fish and the ox tail. She put so much oxtail meat in my plate and even asked me if I had enough gravy on the plate before she wrapped for me. Delicious food welcoming atmosphere and lovely staff! had ribs (Smokey and sweet) chicken (crispy and tasty) Mac and cheese (savory and just bussin) yams (might as well be dessert) only regret didn’t try it!!
