“I practically come here about 3-4 times a week. The Chinatown bakeries are such a good place to get a quick lunch on a short little break. All of the staples such as hot dog buns, sesame balls, and the light cakes are practically at every bakery. I come here the most because the staff is the most patient and kind demeanor wise, they don't rush you and try to scurry you out so fast. Plus they take Venmo! I don't feel comfortable using my card everywhere and I never have cash on me so its perfect. A hot dog bun, iced milk tea, and a coconut tart only for 6.50 ?and yes the cup is a little suggestive to say the least ?“

“I love this spot so much! Everything is so delicious, high quality, and fresh. I swear by the egg and cheese biscuit sandwich as the best biscuit breakfast sandwich in the city. Today I branched out and got the mushroom quiche and a cup of the special soup (squash coconut curry) and I’m so delighted! Will have to try more lunch items in the future. Not a bad thing to say about this place, but do note that the seating is limited and it’s probably best for takeout.“

“As a child, I went to middle school one block away from this diner. I walked by all of the time in those days today. Now i just drive by always wanted to stop but never did but I’ve always been curious so it’s 61 years old today. I had a couple of extra minutes and I stopped in and I must tell you I was very impressed, the food was very tasty portions. The place was clean and my server. Diane was awesome. That will not be my last time there. It took me 61 years but I made it. Bucket list“

“I love discovering vegan places around Philly, so happy to have found this one! Chill atmosphere and super cute decor. They have the best croissants I've ever had in my entire life. Great taste and perfect amount of flakiness! I'm excited to come back and try their lox bagel.

“The cinnamon roll was undoubtedly exquisite, and the lox bagel sandwich was plainly average. Overall, it was a good experience, but I guess my expectations were too high. I do plan to revisit to explore the menu more, though. The basque cheesecake beckons.“

“We used Crust for our wedding and had such a positive experience all around. We chose to work with Crust because I am vegan and it was a suggested vendor through our venue in Philly. We did a tasting with Crust and didn't try anything else because they were so delicious. My partner is not vegan, an overwhelming amount of our guests were not vegan, and we got so many compliments on how delicious the cake was, so many classic "that was vegan?!" responses, and so many compliments from guests and other vendors about the cute pressed-flowers decor for our cutting cake. They absolutely knocked it out of the park with their taste and style, and they were so easy and friendly to work with. I couldn't recommend them enough and am excited to go back to Philly soon to have a few treats at their bakery (which also supports social justice causes if you need any more reason to support them!).

Not only did the coolies look exactly like the dogs, somehow their personally was also captured! The cookies tasted delicious as well as looking great! I Would highly recommend this bakery! “We worked with Joe to put together a tea reception after our wedding ceremony, and we couldn't have been happier! The pastries themselves were so delicious and very pretty (my personal favourites were the mini-cupcakes). And, Joe was a pleasure to work with, very communicative and upfront. We had to switch things up last minute from having the food out on display to having it packaged and handed out, and Joe and his team did a fantastic job pivoting, even coming up with a cute little QR code sticker with the menu for each box. We'll definitely be going back again.“

Their baked goods are VERY generously sized and filled compared to the other Chinatown bakeries, everything is fresh - I walked in before 8 am and picked up my goods the chicken tart was still hot inside, I can see the kitchen where the stuff is being made which is reassuring. Why only have one gold mines when you could have 2 !!!“

“Mighty Bread has attained elite status. It is the best bakery-cafe you’ll find in Philly, no question, and one of my favorite spots. This gem slings stellar pastries, sandwiches, and kale salad (add turkey and soft boiled eggs). The focaccia is probably #1 in Philly, and served alongside dreamy whipped ricotta.

Favorite sandwiches lately: breakfast sandwich with bacon and/or mushroom, turkey caesar hoagie, Italian hoagie, tozzino, and prosciutto, pesto, & mozz.

They slay on a Monday, but be sure to go on a weekend for the Scrambo Platter and whatever exceptional specials they’ve got going on. The staff are kind, patient, and helpful. Lines get loooong but move at a reasonable pace. Whatever you get, you can’t go wrong!“

I can’t even pick a favorite because they are all so good. The Magic flavor name makes complete sense when you take a bite because different flavors seem to magically appear in your mouth (peanut butter being the last to hit…) hard to explain but if you taste it, it will make sense!
