“I had an amazing trip to Philadelphia for the first time. To end the trip I decided to have dessert at Sweer T's bakery. The owner was very friendly and give me the history of the bakery and gaining access to the crowds at Reading Terminal. My favorite pie has always been the sweet potato pie. I tried his pie and quickly realized he added a twist to the pie I'm use to eating. His crust was made from graham crackers, though different it added to the amazing taste of the pie. I'm sure the rest of the desserts are also amazing. If you are in the Philadelphia area, you must give this place a try.“
“We had to place an order that was pretty sizable with a quick turnaround, and this shop was recommended. It was a great experience - friendly and caring service, cute shop, excellent prices, and delicious cupcakes and banana pudding. The mini banana pudding cups were a huge hit at our event, and I'm southern and snobby about such things. We would definitely order again and recommend that others do too!“
“Beautiful little spot for a cup of coffee and tasy treats in bustling center city west. Fantastic art. They also have roasted coffee. Unfortunately, this location has a large step up to get in, getting inside is not easily accessible for people with mobility challenges.“
“First of all--I'm glad to be introduced to another Black owned bakery! And the customer service is great. My aunt located this place when looking for treats for my grandma's bday. Everything was delicious and were a hit with the family, including the cookies. They really have too many cupcake options to choose from ?. I recently stopped by and tried the delicious sweet potato & strawberry shortcake cupcakes. I also have tried the Oreo and Turkey Bacon ones, which were good, too. I'm literally sad it's a Monday and can't wait until Wednesday to visit.“
“I ordered one of the pre-designed cakes for my soon to be sister-in-law’s bridal shower and I could not have been happier with how it turned out! The cake was beautiful, tasted as good as it looked, and was a huge hit at the shower. The ordering was simple, they were thorough with directions and the time slot pick up. “Such a great place! I went a few months ago and things were good but OH MY!! I went again today and everything was AMAZING! We were one of the first people in shop and the selection was actually overwhelming! So many options and everything has been great so far. I’m actually a vegan bakery owner myself BUT when traveling love to try other treats & I was super happy about all the treats. Also, the staff working was super friendly, helpful and just overall great to chat with. “This place did a brilliant job of having very filling options on the menu that weren’t too heavy or calorie dense. This giant breakfast burrito was mainly filled with eggs and a little bit of refried beans. I left full but not feeling gross, which is a fine line to walk with a breakfast burrito.The lox and bagel was ordered by others at the table and it looked very similar - lots of of greens on the plate but they didn’t skimp on the lox or cream cheese. We all were glad to have picked this spot for our weekend brunch.“
“First time trying this place out. Must pickup from the window as the entrance is closed off. and eating it seems homemade. The heart cookies were sweet but just missing that certain someone to share them with. One of the macaroons was off kilter appearance wise but food wise- I mean it's TooGoodToGo. The taste is fine. Nothing like when Miel existed or the one off of Race St. if it is still there, probably French exquisite in those places. Staff is friendly. The custard like dessert was flavorful and I have no idea what this mash was besides edible and delicious! A local shop a tourist probably won't hit unless they are using TooGoodToGo or reading this review by chance, then maybe.“

“I had such a good time at Awesome Little Cupcakes’ cake decorating class. This is a fun activity to do with friends, family, a date, or by yourself. I went by myself and ended up making some friends. I definitely learned some techniques during the class, but don’t be fooled - Cake decorating is not easy! I need serious help with piping and getting frosting smooth on cakes so I’ll need to practice a lot more on my own. However, now, I’ve got some good techniques that I can try at home and some that I haven’t even heard in YouTube videos. I’m thinking of going again and taking my teenage son with me for some sweet family time. I do want to mention the price of the class is definitely worth it. You are provided with everything you need: Cake, frosting, & supplies to decorate with. You get to take home your decorated cake in a box, and it’s a nice, heavy cake. The cake itself also tastes so good. I got the vanilla one.Parking: This area is busy so make sure to get there with time to find parking.“
“I did not even eat the cupcakes at Sweet Box Cupcakes and now I feel...foolish. However, I did try nearly everything else! Bring on the 5 star chocolate chip cookie (cakie, flakey salts, ribbons of chocolate), edible frozen cookie dough (goodbye my lover goodbye my friend I ate you for basically every meal across two days) and the amazing dirty jawn which is a brookie oreo creation (that I initially said I'd "freeze for later" but ended up eating much of...then ultimately throwing away because I feared it's power over me...you win this time, Dirty Jawn). Okay so now that that's out of the way, service here is amazing and I honestly didn't think prices were that bad, though I may be in the minority. The dough was only like $6 and you can't find that price in a grocery store so...support local for your edible raw dough needs. The service and vibes here are both excellent and it's hard to imagine going anywhere else for a sweet treat. Excited to grab treats for visitors and stop by anytime I find myself on that side of Broad.“
“I stopped in the market this past Sunday and I came across this bakery by chance. The display caught my eye and I decided take a look and ended up ordering whoopie pies, lemon bars and butter cake. All three were AMAZING! I will definitely be making this a new stop when I am in the city!!“
“Madison K Cookies were so flexible and accommodating with my questions and requests, they were all really nice! Not giving 5 stars because I wrote exacting what I wanted the cookies to say and somehow the person’s name was spelled wrong. It was upsetting because for the price I was expecting them to be perfect. Also embarrassing to give them out at the party with the person being honored name spelled incorrectly.—-Adding to this review. Madison was very sweet and compensated for the mistake. Will definitely re order for another party. Cookies were a hit!“
“There are not enough good things to say about Cathryn’s. My twin sister told me about the bakery. It truly feels like family every time I visit. They know which twin is which by now (LOL). I have referred family and friends to Cathryn’s. In fact, the last time I visited, I went to an event later that evening saw one of their cakes at my friend’s event. Professional representation always and wonderful aesthetic. And I agree with the comment regarding the packaging: very polished down to the details. They make Philadelphia proud!“
