Having returned to visit Philadelphia since moving away 12 years ago, I came to Isgro with a single-minded purpose: get the Tiramisu cake. And that's what I did, buy 1 cake, two cannoli, and a couple of fluffy pastries filled with marscapone. There is Traditional South Philly Neighborhood feel. The line was a block long before the door even opened! We were all talking and sharing family stories. Once inside you took a number and waited eagerly for your number to be called. The display cases were clean and fully stocked with an assortment of baked goods. These cannolis are legendary for a reason!!! Such a crispy shell with decadent filling. For my first time I tried one each of the ricotta and the marscapone, and they were similar but I liked the marscapone better! It felt a little more substantial and creamy. The ricotta cannolis are $6 each and the marscapone ones are $7 each. I also tried one of the almond cookies and it was soooo good. Not too sweet and a really great texture.
