“We ordered a cake from Lisa Fay Bakes for our daughters bat mitzvah and let me tell you —-it was the best darn cake I’ve ever had! Her cookies are awesome too!Not only that, Lisa is an awesome person and super nice. And she is an artist in the bakery!We highly recommend her bake goods. They will not disappoint, and they’ll probably leave you wanting more!“

“This is a wholesale bakery, but as other reviews mention they do serve the general public as long you place an order 24 hours in advance. Just use the email contact on their website and let them know before noon the day before what you'd like to order (menu also on website). You'll pay wholesale prices so it's a great deal if you have family coming over or just as a weekend treat! We've had the regular croissant, almond croissant, chocolate croissant, ham and cheese croissant, beignets, almond tart, and apple tart. Everything was delicious and tasted just as good the 2nd day (we shared with friends but it was still a lot of food to eat!). The owner is so sweet and very French! So you know it's authentic. During Covid you will just pick up before noon at the window, and you can pay with cash or Venmo!“

“Frozen pastries? I've been coming to Le Petit Mitron since Rick Nichols wrote his 2001 review praising them to the skies and I can vouch for the fact that they, too, froze their pastries. I can also vouch for the fact that Angela and Andrew have made spectacular use of the baton Patrick and Isabelle passed to them, adding canneles to the mix. I can also vouch for the fact that their pastries (like LPM's) freeze well. I buy in bulk and always buy over 100 dollars worth on every visit, as many pastries as will fit in my freezer. If it's a nice day I'll have a few to eat outside with my daughter with a cup of their excellent Herman's coffee.“

“Very boutique. Maybe I was there at an odd hour but there were no basic pastries offered. The options were very intricate and the ingredients were not obvious which made it hard to decide. I could have easily been satisfied with a fresh donut or pound cake. I ended up with a chocolate beignet which was too much chocolate for my preference.“

“From the time I decided To walk in and get a pastry and something hot to drink, I was in love with it. It’s my favorite place to go to after work with friends. It’s a nice place to unwind and pull out your laptop and work as well. Love the Hot dog donut!!!! And the brownies.“

“Located in the heart of Chinatown, another establishment that doesn't take credit cards. Instead payment is via Venmo. So I guess that great since you don't need to pay tax. They have a limited selection of baked goods (see photos) and drinks. Menu is a bit chaotic to read (but this is Chinatown). Baked items are very fresh. Limited seating inside though. Prices are cheap for this economy.“

Highly recommend the breakfast sandwich it's HUGE, crisp bacon ??could easily share and save room for a laminated pastry of sorts.However, it's small, tables are packed in and yet there's an endless stream of oversized, empty strollers for 5-7yr olds who last time I checked have legs and can walk independently and those feral children are screaming, banging on the glass pastry cases, and running all over the place bumping into food runners and their parents do nothing. Most aren't even buying anything but a juice and maybe a drip coffee. “From the tasting to after the wedding, Bredenbeck’s was amazing! The cake came out EXACTLY how I expected it to. It was beautiful! And it tasted amazing! All of my guests really loved every layer (each one was a different flavor). We had a small issue with the filling but Bredenbeck’s rectified the issue right away and took accountability! I look forward to visiting them for another cake order in the future!“

“We had the best service with Kate! She gave us tips on what to order and ahead of time was dead on. We started with a cocktail and had a glass of wine with dinner. We split the spicy chicken empanadas, delicious, however, we did not detect the spice. We split the green chili Caesar. Honestly, the best Caesar in town. I do t see how they get it so cold and crisp, it's amazing! We then each had a ceviche. The baby shrimp, which were much bigger than anticipated, such wonderful flavor! My daughter had the crab, the server suggested mixing it right away to get the sauce mixed in. Very good! It did need more liquid. We simply poured the extra shrimp sauce in the crab, it was superb after that. The tomato on the shrimp just gives it more moisture and such a good flavor! We can't wait to go back!“

“The BEST cream filled doughnuts I have ever had. The filling itself is light and creamy with just the right amount of sweet. The texture of the doughnut was exceptionally well done as well. The peanut butter cream filled doughnut had peanut butter mixed in with the cream filling, the Nutella just has Nutella spread on top. Plenty of variety even in cream filled doughnuts. The flavor of the blueberry fritter was top 2 for a non-apple fritter. Not as heavy and crispy as I like a fritter though.Choosing from 2 cases of minimum 30 doughnut 0 do not recommend.Eating any variety of doughnut they have: 10/10 would recommend going every day for 2 weeks to try them all and enjoy favorites. It was a great experience - friendly and caring service, cute shop, excellent prices, and delicious cupcakes and banana pudding. The mini banana pudding cups were a huge hit at our event, and I'm southern and snobby about such things. We would definitely order again and recommend that others do too!“

“Very nice hidden gem for a coffee or tea stop. The coffee was great. To be honest the tea was ok. So if I may give the very nice owners a suggestion; choose for very good teas like Damman or Rishi (e.g.). Then also for tea drinkers (or mixed couple as we) they will be even more worth wile to go. And btw; one teabag is probably enough. They also have some pastries, pancakes and panini. Very nice interior with lovely background music. “I had an amazing trip to Philadelphia for the first time. To end the trip I decided to have dessert at Sweer T's bakery. The owner was very friendly and give me the history of the bakery and gaining access to the crowds at Reading Terminal. My favorite pie has always been the sweet potato pie. I tried his pie and quickly realized he added a twist to the pie I'm use to eating. His crust was made from graham crackers, though different it added to the amazing taste of the pie. I'm sure the rest of the desserts are also amazing. If you are in the Philadelphia area, you must give this place a try.“

“I was very confused when I 1st walked in what looked like an office building only to find Darnel's tucked away in the corner. What a pleasant surprise this place was. I came across them after they were on Good Morning America in a national competition for best breakfast sandwich. That's all I needed to hear to try it and I definitely wasn't disappointed. As you can see I couldn't even wait to bite into it before taking a pic! They even give you the option to order biscuits separately which I've don't on many occasions. MUST TRY!“

“You know this place is popular when there are people waiting outside the door at 9am right before this place opens. It was my first time here and upon arriving, 2 people were waiting to get in and 3 more trickled in minutes later. A line started to form and people are trying to get the tomato pie. I place an order for the regular tomato pie a few days ago over the phone but when I went to pick it up they didn't have my name. Luckily they had extras so I didn't have to order another. My friends really enjoyed the tomato pie so it's definitely as good as people say. Just be sure to double check the day before if you placed an order with them.“

I love the croissants here because they are not too flaky yet still buttery and fresh. However, the scone was too dry for my liking, and the toasted brioche was okay. It was a fun breakfast for us with friendly service.Be mindful of the parking as well, because you’ll need to parallel park and pay for the time you’re there. If you’re even a couple of minutes late, you may end up with a ticket, which was a painful experience for us.“

“We couldn't be happier with how our wedding cake turned out. We loved how it looked and how it tasted. My wife and I had placed the order a month earlier for our Chinese banquet. We gave Bread Top a picture of what we wanted, something simple and clean and they said no problem, they can do it. We told them when we needed the cake and placed the order. Their price was the best out of the asian bakeries in the area even with delivery included. On the day of, a gentleman dropped off the cake to our reception. He was very quick and I almost missed him but managed to call out to give him a red envelope tip. We received many compliments on the cake, it truly was beautiful and delicious. Our guests appreciated how fluffy the sponge cake was in addition to how light and not overly sweet the whipped cream was. They also appreciated the extra layer of jam we added. “These cannolis are legendary for a reason!!! Such a crispy shell with decadent filling. For my first time I tried one each of the ricotta and the marscapone, and they were similar but I liked the marscapone better! It felt a little more substantial and creamy. The ricotta cannolis are $6 each and the marscapone ones are $7 each. I also tried one of the almond cookies and it was soooo good. Not too sweet and a really great texture. Their ricotta cookies are also extremely popular and are so soft and melt in your mouth. Next time I come I definitely want to try more of their cookies! Tips: make sure you grab a number when you get inside! They call up customers by number to order. I also noticed you can either order cookies by number or by weight and they'll put them all in a box and weigh them for you. Come early in the day as the line does get longer in the afternoon! I went once on a Saturday at around 11:30 and only had a few people in front of me, but I came again on another Saturday at around 2:30 and waited about 30 minutes with a line out the door! My game plan is usually Angelo's then isgro's for dessert. Can't go wrong.“

“SO Good!! Lost Bread is a bakery and mill in Philadelphia. I found their table at the entrance to the Schuylkill River Park. The table is unassuming, yet filled with so much. They had Table Bread, Whole Grain Croissant, Deli Rye, Spelt Handpies, Milk Buns, Oat Bar, and Cranberry Bran Muffins. I opted for the Pretzel Shortbread Crisps, which are so yummy. They have lasted all week and I already can't wait for the next batch!“

“Ursa bread is fantastic. Since the pandemic when we were incredibly lucky to have this bread delivered to our door to now it has been consistently wonderful bread baked with love. I go to the farmers markets specifically for this bread. Philadelphia has a number of great new small bakeries but Ursa is at the top!“

“This small bakery is underrated in Norristown, I recently started coming in the mornings, they have delicious fresh buñuelos and empanadas. Recommend everyone one try this place.
