“Service wise, this place gets five stars. I needed a bunch of pretzels for a work event, called them the day before and they had 100 pretzels ready for me at the time I picked them up. Hot and ready to go with a fair price. I'm not the biggest fan of the overall franchise and I think there are much better pretzels out there. Still, I'd go to Philly Pretzel Factory when I am craving a pretzel. It does the job.“

“I am not one to leave a review but I must share how amazing this bakery was to work with and how beautiful and delicious their cake was! Not only were they able to accommodate my custom cake request super last minute but they brought the inspiration photo I sent them to life in the form of the most flavorful cake that left all our guests raving and wanting more. “The man working behind the counter today was a KING. My friend and I stopped by for the first time and it was really close to closing. “Had an amazing experience for our child's birthday party. We reserved the playroom for our 3 year old and his 8 friends plus parents and some babies. The kids (ages 1-4) all had a blast in the play area which had a playground, lots of toys, and endless entertainment for the entirety of the party. They could have played there all night! There was plenty of room for all of the kids to sit and eat at a table and for the adults to relax and mingle. There was also plenty of room for us to setup food, beverages, and coolers in addition to what the bakery provided (pizza, juice, cupcakes). The staff was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating! We definitely recommend for a memorable experience.“

“Great, old time ice cream place. This would be the perfect spot to visit after a baseball game!I took my kids for an ice cream on a lazy Sunday afternoon this summer. The place was packed! However, the line moved fast.My younger son ordered the mint chocolate chip ice cream and my older son tried the moose tracks. (I took a taste of both)The mint chocolate chip was so delicious, it reminded me of ice cream I got from a little candy shop up in Northern Wisconsin when I was a kid. Our family loves extra cake for a day or two... and until the cake was gone, it was just as moist as if it was just picked up from the bakery. I’ve tried so many flavors - even flavors I “knew” I wouldn’t like - and I still liked them! It’s wild how good Kia’s cakes are!!! Top favorites of their general cupcakes: Vanilla Oreo, Carrot cake, and Red Velvet! The cupcake specials for the holidays are amazing - and for Black History Month they did punny cupcakes that also told a story of the person that they were honoring - so sweet and important. Other foods that are there like the Iced Pound Cake and the Banana Pudding are equally as amazing as the cupcakes. Recently tried the “Irish Potatoes” which were a special for St. Patrick’s day - they have coconut in them, and I don’t like coconut - but I ate so many of Kia’s Irish Potatoes!! Perhaps the individual whom felt no effects might lack the enzymes in their liver that metabolizes thc. I'm a seasoned cannabis user. “We orderd a very large quantity of heart shaped soft pretzels to give to out of towners staying in Philadelphia for a wedding. It was easy to place the order, the cost was reasonable, the pretzels were ready for pickup as scheduled (and they even offered advice on how to freeze them to keep them fresh for our guests), and most importantly, they tasted exactly the way Philly soft pretzels are supposed to taste. We needed the pretzels to be kosher and they are. The only negative was difficulty parking.Dietary restrictions: Kosher“

“You have to come here. Ambiance - well its no frills and why should it be?! It's an outlet bakery shop. Literally if you want more than that it wouldn't have the discount prices that it does. It's a little hard to find and you have to navigate but if you go there early enough there's a line out the door.Unfortunately for us its not very convenient to get there but if we did we would be going there every day since everything they make is so delicious. and also our waistlines would be showing it...We stumbled across this place since we have been eating at LeBus in East Falls (very often) and Winnies (in Manayunk- that serves LeBus breads) for years and we just wanted to go to the heart of the matter. When we do go - we get pastries and breads. The breads you can get whole and they will slice them for you or you can just slice them yourself when you get home and freeze some. I ordered rolls from here for Thanksgiving 2 years ago (if you're gonna do this - it has to be in advance) and they were the hit of the party.There is a reason why this place is so busy and why they have limited hours with a no frill bake shop. They don't have to do anything because their product speaks for itself.“

“Very boutique. Maybe I was there at an odd hour but there were no basic pastries offered. The options were very intricate and the ingredients were not obvious which made it hard to decide. I could have easily been satisfied with a fresh donut or pound cake. I ended up with a chocolate beignet which was too much chocolate for my preference.“

“My experience with the bakery was amazing! I called left a voicemail Thursday about an inquiry for a birthday cake that I needed for Saturday. I received a call back Friday morning. I was able to send the picture of the cake and pay over the phone. The cake was ready for pickup Saturday morning! I will be recommending and using them again! My daughter loved her cake. “Frozen pastries? I've been coming to Le Petit Mitron since Rick Nichols wrote his 2001 review praising them to the skies and I can vouch for the fact that they, too, froze their pastries. I can also vouch for the fact that Angela and Andrew have made spectacular use of the baton Patrick and Isabelle passed to them, adding canneles to the mix. I can also vouch for the fact that their pastries (like LPM's) freeze well. I buy in bulk and always buy over 100 dollars worth on every visit, as many pastries as will fit in my freezer. If it's a nice day I'll have a few to eat outside with my daughter with a cup of their excellent Herman's coffee.“

“We had walked pretty much all the way through Reading Terminal when we came upon this bakery. As we love sourdough bread, we reached for a loaf, and as we were searching, we couldn't help but find several other items that tempted our tastebuds. We did purchase a loaf of sourdough ($6.99) which we found to be very tasty but maybe a little denser than we like for sandwiches. It has made very nice toast in the mornings. We also could not resist the loaves of orange-cranberry and cinnamon breads ($7.25 ea.). They were both very tasty and moist. In fact, because we had purchased so many goodies, I was afraid the cinnamon loaf might spoil before we could consume it and so I froze it. After thawing, it was just as good as the orange-cranberry! We actually resisted all the donuts, but I think next time we are in Philadelphia and the Reading Terminal, I'm sure we will indulge.“
