“We almost didn’t end up at Bolo because we had originally planned to try some of the more popular restaurants in the city, but everything was fully booked and we had a large group. I found Bolo on OpenTable at the last minute and I am so glad I did because it ended up being the best dinner we had during our trip.
The service was amazing. Our server, who was also a mom, was incredibly kind and attentive. She gave great menu suggestions, helped accommodate our toddler, and even helped make my graduation celebration feel special. And the food was absolutely incredible. I got a simple dish of rice and beans with steak and I cannot express how flavorful that dish was. The appetizers were also good. And also the drinks. Not a single thing was bad. The atmosphere was beautiful too. I’m honestly shocked this place wasn’t fully booked because it was such an amazing experience from start to finish. We will definitely be back the next time we’re in Philly!“

“The waitress was wonderful…until I brought my slimy lobster to her attention. I ordered the paella which came with a split lobster and claw. The inside of the claw and tail was really mushy and slimy. The waitress didn’t attempt to fix the order. Also, an 18% gratuity is automatically added.
On another note, the empanadas (beef) were really tasty.“

“I chose to celebrate my birthday with brunch at Mamajuana based off of the social media posts I noticed on IG. Needless to say, it did not disappoint. My birthday brunch experience was amazing. My boyfriend had a medical emergency which resulted in us having to leave via ambulance and the staff there just handled it was so much grace. It’s located right by the York Dauphin L station, just a block away. Prices are reasonable. You can eat in or get takeout. I recommend everyone to try!“

The generous portions made it enough for two adults and two little kids, and we had leftovers too! My only complaint is that they only have their stuffed plantains available in the morning.“
