McDonald's in Philadelphia

“It may be funny to review McDonald’s because everyone already knows what it is, but this is my local location, and it deserves some recognition. I probably come here once a week on my own and another time with my wife and kids in some way, shape, or form. It is clean, open 24 hours, has ample parking, and the staff is consistently helpful. The bathroom is almost always spotless, which says a lot about how the restaurant is managed.

I have found that the drive-thru is usually the fastest option because the front counter can get backed up with delivery drivers coming in and out. The two-lane setup still confuses me, especially when someone arrives first and somehow gets served second, so I always use the inner lane to avoid making anyone feel as though I am cutting in line. There must be a strategic reason behind the design, since the cars generally move quickly. For breakfast, I usually stick with a biscuit or bagel meal, always with hash browns and often an orange juice. The coffee is delicious, but the pre-measured cream and sugar increments are overly generous; use them sparingly, as the calories can add up quickly.

Later in the day, I usually order a Big Mac meal or a double cheeseburger. Dessert is generally its own stop rather than something I add to a full meal, since a value meal followed by dessert can feel like a bit much. When I am in the mood for a treat, I rotate among a vanilla milkshake, a McFlurry, and a hot fudge sundae. I also swear the fountain Diet Coke and Coke Zero have what we call the McDonald’s recipe. I have no idea whether they are actually different from what comes in a can or bottle, but they seem to have some extra magic and are consistently delicious. I grew up near Chicago, where McDonald’s built its global identity, so perhaps some of this attachment is simply in my DNA. Wherever I am in the world, especially after several days of unfamiliar food, McDonald’s still feels like comfort food.

As a parent of young kids, I am quickly learning the astonishing bargaining power of a Happy Meal because you can spend hundreds of dollars on something supposedly more meaningful, yet my three-year-old mainly cares about the nuggets and the toy. I still have to drive to this location, but if the proposed McDonald’s at 16th and Chestnut ever opens, it’ll be within walking distance of our house, which feels like a blessing and a curse. It would also be a valuable addition if it ever opens, because every city center needs dependable, affordable places where families and neighbors of all types can eat without every meal becoming an expensive production. I am grateful to the staff here for keeping such a busy neighborhood restaurant clean, welcoming, and consistent. Thank you!“

“Not gonna lie, genuinely impressed with this Mcdonalds because I’ve gone to so many that take forever to complete orders, but they got mine out soooo fast. It was a good flow of cars just going through every few minutes. It was busy for them too.“

“Good evening Google Family. I visited because I was in the area. I was visiting my nephew and my great-nephew. Christopher wanted something from here. I have never patronized this Micky D's location. There is plenty of parking here in the shopping lot. Plus there are several available handicapped spaces. Christopher ordered on the kiosk and we paid on the kiosk by credit card. Our number was 632. While Christopher waited, I went to the ladies' room. It was clean. When I came out, the food was ready. We left and I took Christopher back home. We had a good experience here. Have a good night, workout, be active and mobile, fit and fabulous especially for people over the age of 50 years.“

“Had a small problem that was promptly and professionally handled by not only the employee in the drive through window but also the manager. They displayed great communication and professional courtesy to keep up with high customer satisfaction. Manager of this location should be proud of how her staff treats its customers. “I haven't been to McDonald's in a dog's age in other words I've been there for a very very long time. I got a Big Mac fries and a banana strawberry smoothie everything was good even the fries without the beef tallow. The Big Mac was a Big Mac“

“The construction or parking lot cleaning was not well thought out. The driveway from woodland there's one lane and assumption that everyone is going to the drive thru

Therefore one lane for drive thru while the other is blocked and when exiting you have to go thru drive thru again WAIT for the people ordering and pull up so that you can exit from side street.

A car pulled in and attempted to go left and not drive thru and the service people began yelling to redirect but there's no signage for redirected

“Parking around the drive thru made things a little confusing. There were so many cars parked around the entrance which leads to the drive thru, that I thought about leaving prior to my order because I thought it was a line. I guess they were delivery people.“

“They never fail me; cookies are always warm, frappes made to perfection, and food always nice and hot the night staff ya'll keep up the great work!! Btw I'm at this McDonald's almost daily and I'm from Jersey 🫶🏻“

“The Franklin Mills McDonald’s is solid quality and service. I pulled over and ordered on the app and got a better deal, then drove through the drivethru instantly to get it. It wasn’t crowded it all around 6pm dinner time which was nice. It’s convenient also being next to all the other fast food chains“

“This is the best around! I went and had the best customer service with a guy named Eric. He was funny, and is the best cook there. The man definitely deserves a raise, he is an example of the model worker everyone wishes to have! There was an issue the store forgot my fries and chicken nuggets, Eric checked the receipt, apologized, and said he would fix it, and made me fresh nuggies and fries! Very positive and professional, appreciate it. Not a common trait nowdays!“

“Updating my review: besides that one incident, they’re usually nice and friendly when I stop by (mostly Saturday mornings), especially the guy at the first window. Original: I usually have great service at this location, especially from the man who takes orders on weekend mornings. I’ve sung their praises and left positive survey feedback. Today though, I ordered ahead as I usually do for breakfast at 10:12, got there at 10:22, and the unfriendly woman told me, she had to check what “they had left”, which was only a hash brown. Why would you allow me to order something ahead of time, just to tell me you don’t have it when I get there? And if you serve breakfast until 10:30, how are you out of food before then?! Complete waste of my time.“

“AMY!!! If it wasn't for Amy having not only amazing customer service skills but she went above and beyond. She was honest kind and courteous. She explained to me why my order would take a while but I was willing to wait because I was doing Uber eats for customers. Amy switched and cleaned the grill from dinner to breakfast as fast as she could just to get my order done. AMY should be running this whole store. She deserves praise and a raise“

“I just want to thank the manager and gentlemen working the drive thru last night around 130am on Nov 9th. I had ice cream on my order forgetting they stop serving it at 10p. I expected nothing but the worse because of how I've been treated by that shift in the past. I was so wrong whomever the manager and worker were went above and beyond to make sure I got something else for my problems. Whomever the workers were should be compensated for their customer service skills.“

“The girl who took my order seemed mad at me because she had to do her job, I was getting money out of my wallet and she barked the total at me twice..so zero stars for her. “this mcdonald’s is new and just opened about a year ago! please do not be deceived by the old reviews. we used to have another one located at this exact spot that got demolished and rebuilt. this new one is very nice and very clean. the service is randomly slow but mainly due to high orders during nights out.“

“I went here with my granddaughter on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at about 9:15 A.M. Clean and ready to serve. Drive through had a few cars in line, and a group 6-7 children and adults were inside, seated, waiting for their orders. I went inside today simply because I needed to use the restroom. Again, everything was clean!“

“I don’t know what happened but there’s a significant difference speed that this McDonald’s operates at now. Super fast super efficient from 2025. The entire year of 2026 i been getting my food in damn near the blink of an eye. The food was always good, but before i used to get annoyed for being in there so long but now they fixed all that“

“I was hesitant to stop at this location because of the recent reviews but I'm glad I overlooked those and came in for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Sandwiches were well prepared, coffee was very good. Service was quick and all condiments were included. One of the best drive-thru experiences at any McDonald's within a 5 mile radius.“

“Shame on me for not checking my bag when I left at the drive-through, but for the third time in a row, hashbrowns were not included in my meals that I pay for every single time. I get all the way home open the bag and they’re missing. I’m too lazy to go back and get it or fight for it. I did once and I didn’t have the receipt they weren’t gonna help me. this is the worst place. I don’t know where they hire their people from but they Mess up orders every single day there isn’t one person I’ve ever talked to you. “Two stars is what I wanted to have given but because of the customer service I had to upgrade to 3 stars. I usually get ice coffee first in the morning around 7:15-7:25 and meet these two Mexican ladies(cashiers). They’re very welcoming, pay attention and give you exactly what you order. My first day here was horrible as I had to trash the coffee because they added too much sugar (I requested little sugar). Glad that they are making improvements on the food and services.

Kid-friendliness: There are special seats for kids so you don’t have to worry about where your infant going to sit. It’s comfortable. The people are kids friendly“

“The wait in the Drive Thru line was pretty extensive, maybe more than 15 minutes before I was able to pull up to the the order speaker. The cashier when paying was very courteous and I waited no more than 3 minutes at the pickup window for my food. My food was fresh and hot so the wait was worth it.“

“I absolutely Love coming to this location, located on Baltimore Pike across from Giants. There is an employee that works at this location named Dawn who is as Cheerful as the day is long. Always has a smile on her face and extremely well at multitasking. I remember she took our order in drive thru, received the payment, then gave us our food, 2 different windows and all under 5 mins. Never seen such efficiency in my life. She's definitely a Great asset to this company.“
