La Jefa Café is a special spot. It functions like a family with prompt service and quick communication. The staff is the definition of hospitable, with extensive knowledge of mezcal. It is a cafe during daytime and a restaurant at night. The food is delicious, with phenomenal vegetarian menu options. The nopalitos are fresh and crunchy. The barbacoa sandwich is to die for, and the breakfast sandwich is loved. The star of the show is somehow the dessert, with incredible conchas and an excellent dulce jefa dessert. Homemade tortillas are a great touch. They have homemade sodas on tap. The cocktails are beautiful and creative. The vibe is really cool, with a darker, moodier back area called the milfa room. It is a little pricey, but a must-visit.
