“Our first experience at a James Beard award winning restaurant (2017) and chef was incredible at Vernick Fish in Philadelphia to celebrate Trent’s graduation! I know now what this caliber of food and service means and all other restaurants pale in comparison to Vernick Fish and Greg Vernick(semi-finalist chef 2025). From the appetizers (dozen oysters from RI, MA, ME, PEI) to the drinks and main course were all uniquely exquisite and cannot be replicated anywhere else. The constant doting with new silverware at each course and cleaning of the table was undeniably royalty treatment. Even the bathroom was an experience-I need the hand lotion in my life (instantly made my hands look 30 years younger). The portions, ambiance and service were all equally perfect! I highly recommend you check out Vernick Fish. We will definitely return!“

“Obsessed is an understatement. The food , atmosphere and service is exceptional. We’re huge on atmosphere of a restaurant and every time we’ve been here the service is beyond expectation. On top of that the food is so fresh and delicious. The owners have curated such a welcoming, unique, fulfilling space. This is now a staple spot for date night and it speaks volumes for us as foodies. Highly recommend!!“

“Truly a 10/10 experience from start to finish.

This was our first visit after hearing so many great things, and we left feeling like family. Our server, Grant, was fantastic, super attentive, incredibly helpful, and genuinely kind. The rest of the staff made us feel just as welcome. We were originally seated inside but asked if it would be possible to move outside, and they happily accommodated us without hesitation.

Since it was our first time, we had no idea what to order. We basically rallied the staff and bombarded them with questions, and everyone was more than happy to help. We ended up trusting their recommendations, and they absolutely nailed it. We ordered the sausage & fennel pizza, the mushroom white pizza, the kale Caesar, the focaccia, and the ricotta dip. Every single thing blew us away.

The pacing of the meal was perfect. Everything came out at just the right time, so the table never felt cluttered. We definitely ordered with our eyes, but we weren’t complaining because the leftovers were just as exciting to take home.

The focaccia deserves a special mention. You can tell the bread program is something they take a lot of pride in. Their dough is absolutely dialed in. As someone who loves wood-fired pizza, it’s always a treat to get a pie that’s still sturdy and not floppy,
a difficult thing to pull off when you’re cooking pizzas in under three minutes at around 800 degrees.

One of the highlights of the night was when the chef let us try a new dish he was working on; a tomato salad with caramelized breadcrumbs. It was absolutely mind-blowing and fit seamlessly with the rest of the menu. I think it’s easy for new chefs to come in wanting to make a statement or put too much of their own ego into every dish. This wasn’t that at all. It was thoughtful, humble, and incredibly well-executed. It complemented what was already a fantastic menu instead of trying to overshadow it. You can tell there’s a real sense of collaboration in the kitchen, and it’s exciting to see that kind of synergy. They already had something special, and it feels like great things are still to come.

Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and the portion sizes were perfect for me and my date.

A huge thank you to Danny, Grant and Garrett, who were absolute sweethearts, along with the rest of the team for making our first visit so memorable. The food was outstanding, the service was exceptional, and the hospitality made all the difference.

“Came in on Saturday last week for my birthday and tonight for my girlfriend’s birthday. The atmosphere is chill the views are amazing. Our servers have been engaging and knowledgeable. And the food is outstanding. Last week we did the chef’s tasting with the whole fish as the main course ($90 per person). Tonight we got the fritto misto, the eggplant and eggplant caponata, and the swordfish with green garlic for the apps. The rigatoni, spaghetti, and the trophie for the second course (pasta full plates) and the half chicken for the main course. Everything was delicious but the trophie pistachio pesto stood out as the best dish for my girlfriend and I. We finished the night with two cappuccino’s and tiramisu. It is a little pricey but worth every penny. If you’re looking for excellent food, a great atmosphere and beautiful views Irwin’s is the place. In my opinion Irwin’s and Meetinghouse in Fishtown are the two coolest restaurants in Philly.“

“I was skeptical because I absolutely love eating meat. Meat and bbq is a huge part of my life. That being said dinner Saturday night was unbelievably fantastic. I absolutely loved everything that we ordered. Moms meatballs were my favorite dish. I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact that they are vegan. The cocktails were also delicious and strong. A++++ for this restaurant!“

“Look for the Penn Center Beauty Supply, which is - left - just down the hall from the Visitor Center, which is - right - at the bottom of the escalator of the 15th St/City Hall subway station. Ninja Bao is just down the hall on the right from the beauty supply.

The tonkatsu ramen was tasty all around and the green bao had great flavors and was piping hot.“

“I really liked it here! Unpretentious and welcoming. Some of the best food I’ve ever had at a bar. The fish and chips were an especially nice surprise. In addition to the food menu, they offer different specials on the blackboard. Have a good selection on draft, plus canned beers and a unique cocktail list. Definitely worth a visit if you’re seeing a show at Union Transfer or PhilaMoca.“

My party was running late, and they still sat us immediately when we arrived, which we really appreciated. “Awesome location, atmosphere, and service! The bartender tonight was fantastic. Kind, patient, hardworking. The food was solid! For an airport hotel restaurant it was solid. Good portions, crisp lettuce and tomato toppings. Make a fresh fried chicken breast instead of a frozen one and this place will be super :) thanks to the great staff!“

“We were able to adjust our reservation time a couple hours before without an issue and the restaurant was not crowded on a Friday evening. Food was good but minor modification wasn't made. Truffle fries and cheesesteak were delicious. I didn't care for the cocktail I ordered but the server switched it out for another drink. We would eat here again.“
