“Cafe La Maude in Philadelphia is a charming spot that blends French and Lebanese culinary traditions into a delightful brunch experience. With a 5-star rating, it’s praised for its flavorful and unique dishes, professional service, and the cozy ambiance that makes the wait worthwhile. The menu offers a mix of healthy options, and while the prices are a bit steep, the quality of the food is exceptional. It’s a place where you can enjoy a leisurely meal and feel the warmth of family history and culture in every bite.“
“Food... Amazing!! Service... Fantastic!! Atmosphere... Cozy!!I highly recommend this restaurant. I enjoy the delicious food (especially the Salmon Freekah Salad and Pistachio Sticky Bun) and the Brown Butter Artichoke Borekas are everything!!! After a year of coming here, I've tried nearly everything on the menu ? Owner, Chef Mike Solomonov is incredibly generous!!!“
“As season ticket holders at the Walnut Street Theater, we found this adorable restaurant looking for a place to grab a bite before shows. We've been here before every show this season, as the food is phenomenal, the owners are the nicest, and the service is top-notch. Plus, subscribers get 20% off! Turkish cuisine is my new favorite!“
“Came here at 8:30 on a Friday night with my family and the place was surprisingly empty. Ahmed, the owner, gave us a warm welcome and prompt service. He gave us several recommendations (we ordered them all) and every dish was great. We got the branzino, the lamb chops, the half grilled chicken, hummusand mishwia. While every dish was truly tasty, my two favorites were the branzino and mishwia. I told Ahmed it was my parents anniversary and he gave us tea and baklava on the house. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone. The food, the hospitality, and the service is top notch.“
“Out of this world! Delicious, flavorful food with a family owned atmosphere. Felt like we were taken care as best as they could, checking on us often and recommending food for us(as this was our first time.) we had the “fat boy” for me and my boyfriend to split and the lamb was to die for! Tender and fall off the bone yummy! Hope to come back soon and bring my family to show them this wonderful place!“
“Had a truly delightful meal here! Everything was so fresh and flavorful. The hummus was spectacular. The Brussel sprouts were SO crispy, some of the best I've ever had. I really enjoyed the chicken shish I got for my entrée. My mom got the falafel and said it was delicious.Highly recommend making a reservation. This place gets busy, quickly. Several folks had to be turned away because they didn't have one. And this was on a Thursday night.“
“Everything is perfect. Foods delicious, servers are kind, atmosphere is beautiful. If you want to try Turkish cuisine, you should try here. I had mixed grill. Lamb sish and chicken sish were so soft and juicy. Rice was really good with döner. As a starter Arnavut ciğeri, ezme and cheese rolls were amazing. For desert I can definitely recommend Kunefe. You won’t regret.“
“Zahav in Philadelphia is a culinary haven. The Kataifi Wrapped Prawns are a revelation, with their exquisite blend of textures and flavors. This dish, along with Zahav's inviting ambiance and attentive service, makes dining here an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended...“
“Decided to go here last minute on a Friday night. Walked in and immediately felt like family. We were greeter by the owner, Luis and chatted with other guests while he was getting our table ready. I had the pork chop with finding potatoes and asparagus and my husband had short ribs with carrots and Farro. Food was beyond excellent. Everything was cooked to perfection. Dessert was also amazing. Can't wait to go back!“
“Probably some of the best service I've received at a restaurant! The owner checked in a few times and showed us his joint business of a hookah lounge upstairs. We also learned about Ramiz's history and how it's a chain. This location is the first one established in the US. We received complimentary mix appetizer plate of dips and tea! Karişik Soğuk Meze / Mix Appetizer Plate- Hummus, baba ghanoush, labneh, and spicy vegetable dip THE SPICY VEGETABLE DIP IS INCREDIBLE! MUST TRY! Turkish meatballs - insanely moist and delicious! Would highly recommend! Chicken Adana wrap - could have used more meat in it and the fries were lacking salt but that's easily fixable! Sütlaç -the oven baked pudding was good The table cloth on the tables kept moving which was a bit frustrating, not sure what other restaurants do to hold it down. Menu has so many options, something for everyone. Bringing your family or a big friend group is a good idea!“
“We had their chef tasting and wine pairings and were absolutely delighted. A lot of good fine dining food. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable. Obviously recommend everything we had. Have to go back, want to try their duck wings. Side dishes are phenomenal. We had the opportunity to get both the lamb shank and whole fish. Lots of light and fresh vibrant food with some richness and meatiness added in. If you can afford to pull from your wallet, this is definitely the place.“
“My go-to place for bagels when I’m in the area. Great consistency, cream cheese is good, high quality salmon. Great for getting a sandwich or bringing some bagels and a tub of cream cheese home. Staff are lovely! Be sure to bring cash for small orders.“
“Yes, yes, yes! I have come here twice now and I don't plan on stopping any time soon. You can really tell how much care/time is put into the food. From the sides to mains, everything is a 10/10. The service is impeccable as well. You will not be disappointed. This is by far one of the best Mediterranean/Middle Eastern restaurants in the city. Portions are also huge. PS don't skip on the homemade hot sauce, it's SO GOOD. You will not have a bad meal here.“
“My friend and I came here for lunch, and neither one of us had ever been here before. The block that this restaurant is in is not the fanciest on Samson Street but don’t let it deter you from trying this restaurant. If you’re looking for something different with a Middle Eastern flavor, you have to try this restaurant. the price is right and the food is taste fresh with clean ingredients. Unfortunately, I took no pictures but I had the steam dumplings and my luncheon partner had a wrap that she raved about.Wheelchair accessibility: There are no steps into the restaurant.“
“I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at this restaurant - it exceeded my expectations!Located in the heart of center city, the restaurant boasts a spacious interior with a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it perfect for families, couples, or friends. The menu features classic Greek dishes, and I thoroughly enjoyed everything I tried. The saganaki appetizer was a delightful start, and the moussaka entree was incredibly flavorful. The service was excellent - the staff were attentive and perfectly timed with their service.I will definitely be returning whenever I'm in the mood for Greek cuisine in the city. Oh, and don't forget to check out the spacious and beautiful bathroom too!“
“THIS is the place to be.What a wonderfully warm and friendly atmosphere, from the hostess to the servers to the other guests. Cute decor with a lot of tables that are in close proximity to one another.THIS is the place to eat.OHHH-EMMM-GEEE the food is incredibly delicious. The portions are generous. The menu selections are great and it’s difficult to choose - and then they have daily specials, which makes it even harder because you want to try it ALL!CASH only- no cards accepted.BYOB and the staff will gladly provide the appropriate glassware.Scannicchio’s is a family place…..the employees are all family and when you’re there you feel like family. MY family, we LOVE Scannicchio’s! It’s our family tradition. La mia famiglia. Mangia bene.Parking: Parking is where we you find a spot! Usually a spot can be found on Broad Street.“
“Food was fresh, delicious, and fairly priced. Beware of the pickled jalapeños if you are sensitive to spicy food. Both their beef gyro and falafel were the best I’ve ever had. Please keep in mind that I don’t even like meat and I’ve been struggling with anorexia for decades. So it’s very difficult for me to eat anything unless it’s super fresh and extraordinarily tasty. This place is a true gem and treasure.Service was outstanding, The owner-host made us feel immediately welcomed and at ease. She let us customize our order and was very prompt with our food. She was very knowledgeable about the ingredients they use, as well. The seating area is small, but that is to be expected in this area.Overall, this was by far our favorite restaurant to visit in the Philly area.Vegetarian options: they have falafel, grape leaves, hummus, baba ghanoush, salads, you name it! they offer endless customization options if you’d like, as well.Dietary restrictions: they serve halal, and they are knowledgeable about the ingredients they use.“
“Stopped in here on a Friday early evening for dinner. You order at the counter and then they call you when your order is ready. I thought the prices were very good for the portions you got. I enjoyed a hummus bowl that had veggies in it and falafel. I got a meal so i picked a salad and a bottle of water to go with it. There was so much food! My boyfriend liked his dinner as well! The restaurant looked fairly new. Nicely decorated and clean. I will be back for another hummus bowl!“
“It was my very 1st time ever eating Greek food. I was a bit nervous because I am not an adventurous eater but because I was a guest.... I figured I'd "give it a go".... To my surprise, I loved the grilled pork, Greek veggies and Rice was so good....They had this white creamy sauce called Tyzekih sauce it was......interesting, good but tasty as well. The one draw back was the waiter...he was old, tired and could not get the order correct. Maybe he should be on the register instead of on his feet taking orders, not so successfully. Besides him, it was a great experience!Wheelchair accessibility: We ate outside so a wheelchair can be wheeled right up to the table.“
“High quality Lebanese style Mediterranean food at an amazing price. We opted for the Mediterranean platter-a sampler of creamy, lemony hummus, smoky baba ganoush, an eggplant salad and some pickled items. Nothing totally remarkable, but reliably deliciously flavored and good portions. One of us got the beef shawarma sandwich and reported it to the best one ever tasted, especially the Lebanese style with pickles and French fries added in! The service on an early Saturday night was a little slow, but the food was hot when it came and worth the wait. Top it off with the baklava, it’s worth the calories, with just the right amount of honey that squishes out of the pastry when you bite down.Vegetarian options: Fava bean appetizer, along with many other veg options, felafel, veg platterDietary restrictions: They were great about nut allergies and there were plenty of options for veg.“
“"Small plates" that actually aren't so small, small menu but which is expansive in flavors, and perfectly curated drink menu. Staff were welcoming and charming. When you dine here before dark, the sunlight beautifully illuminates this window-filled intimate space--such a lovely feeling. We particularly enjoyed the eggplant stewed in spicy tomatoes served with g thick cut toasted sourdough bread, the slow-cooked cod with fancy beans, and the grilled squash with brown butter--that sauce was a spiritual experience!“
“I've tried a few different Ethiopian places and this is some of the best I've tried. Normally I'm not a huge fan of collard greens but I loved these, they were tender and delicious. The bread was thick and spongey and portioned correctly for the amount of vegetables in the platter. I would certainly return if I were in the area again.“
“Admittedly it wasn't too busy when we ate here hard to judge the noise level. That said, we have been here before and it's a nice neighborhood byob restaurant with delicious Turkish food. The mezza plate was perfect to share between 4 and the calamari was the best, tender and crispy with a delicious dipping sauce. We all had varying kebabs, all were moist and flavorful as were the chicken thighs. Finished off with some Turkish coffee and baklava and we were more than satisfied. Even though it is a byob it was still reasonably priced.“
“Had a slice n a cheese steakfood came out fastSlice wasn't heated up n cheese steak very basic roll n meat average n seemed not heated either, most strange bc came out very fasthuge selection of ready pies/slices on display..( Just specify you want Hot food ) if u gobe best to go early in day for slices so not dried up and or order a fresh pie or I'm assuming plain slices get replenished thru out dayPretty lady bartender was friendly and acts as waitress It looked clean n prices average for center city and it's a sports bar too“
“I would give this place an infinite amount of stars if it were possible. When me and my friends lived around here, we loved hitting this Halal cart up on Friday nights. We even made the occasional pilgrimage there once we lived in separate places around Philly.Majit (and later Salman) always whipped up the freshest food, had a smile on their face, and were glad to talk with us. Salt of the earth. If you like Halal you owe it to yourself to get in front of the Fishtown Planet Fitness and order a lamb/falafel combo platter with your sauces of choice.“
“Hey there! Thanks for letting me join you on this food truck journey. I must say, I'm impressed with the attention to detail in your food truck. Everything looks so fresh and delicious. I must say, I agree with everyone who says your food is the best in Philadelphia. Your food is so flavorful and cooked to perfection. And I'm excited to hear that your food truck is the best in Philadelphia. I can't wait to try your signature gyro, which is made with freshly grilled meat, homemade tzatziki, and so much more. It's like a feast for your taste buds.I love how you take pride in using only the freshest ingredients and cooking everything from scratch. It's clear that you put a lot of love and attention into every bite of your food. That's what sets you apart from other food trucks out there. So, if you're looking for the best food truck in Philadelphia, my vote goes to This is the king gyro food truck. I guarantee you won't be disappointed!“
“Quite possibly the greatest and authentic Greek gyro I have ever tasted. The owners are very hardworking and respectful people. The workers give a great service and lovely attitude. A very great place to stop by when you are in the city looking for a place to fill your belly.“
“I woke up still dreaming about the feast I had at Apricot Stone last night! My friends and I came here spontaneously and were very pleased with the food, so much so that almost every one of us was doing the happy dance when we took our first bites! We ordered some mezze to share such as the grape leaves, the manti, and the hummus. Wow were we off to a great start! The stuffed grape leaves were the first bite of the night that absolutely blew me away. They were soft, not bitter at all, and the rice inside was seasoned beautifully. I highly recommend you try them here! The manti was something we all tried for the first time and I wanted to eat that again and again. I wanted to swim in the broth that these beef dumplings were sitting in! I’m pretty sure we were all fighting over the last few servings of this dish and wanting to drink the liquid off our sharing plates unabashedly. The hummus was so smooth and velvety and delicious! Not a single bit was left on the spoon or plate in came in.For entree we all pretty much ordered the lamb kabob entree with rice pilaf and choice of sides. The lamb was juicy and flavorful and cooked beautifully. The rice was so flavorful I wanted to keep eating it! The muhamara was one of the sides i chose and tried for the first time and I’m obsessed with it - flavorful roasted red pepper dip with walnuts and molasses, it’s all blended as a type of dip and the pieces of walnuts make this dip feel almost meaty and deliciously satisfying. I also got the eggplant salad and the veggies were just cooked so beautifully, great balance of bite yet softness to the eggplant and seasoned well.My friends loved the tabouleh and babaganoush as their sides!I also had the Armenian coffee and baklava for dessert. The baklava was good - I wish there was a bit more nuts in between and some more syrup, but I tried a bite of my friends gatnabur (Armenian rice pudding with blossom water) and would really recommend getting that! Our server did not rush us at all even when we had a hard time deciding what to get, and even guided us through the menu and explained how it would be presented and what would be more shareable. We sat on the heated patio and it felt really magical.I definitely would come back again for a great night with even better food!“
“What a really great spot. We came for a work dinner, not knowing what to expect, and it could not have been a nicer evening. The food was fantastic, from the very first appetizer to the delicious dessert cups at the end. The service was even better. The people were really lovely and the ambiance was warm and intimate. Perfect night. Thank you!“
“We a great dinner last night at Zestys on Main Street in Manayunk. Delicious octopus, lamb and hummus! The cocktail was ok, but everything else was fantastic. Great service, the owner was walking around greeting everyone and when the music started we felt like we were in Greece! And of course, the bellydancer was great. Go early because it gets filled up. And....take your time...service is not fast, but very friendly and cordial. Check it out.“
“Not only is the food fantastic and addictive, but the atmosphere is superb. The service is not only classy, it's also very kind. It's obvious that the owners are not only good at business, but all around great people. We are truly blessed to have Judah Grille here in Philadelphia. L'CHAIM !!!!!“
“Great hole in the wall place, the owner Mohammed is great. Delicious, flavorful shwarma platters, middle eastern groceries. You can buy homemade hummus here that is better and cheaper than the supermarketCall ahead to order shwarma, can be a 15-20 min wait otherwise“
“The Lemonana (9/10) Shish Kabob Sandwich (7/10) I loved the Lemonana so much that I got it twice! Keep in mind that it is not for everyone (my friend did not like it), so if you don't like lemon, mint, and sugar then it may not be for you. The Shish Kabob Sandwich was perfectly balanced with the met the vegetable ratio, but didn't taste super special (still really good though). Overall, the staff was really friendly and efficient with their orders.“
“Our second time here and it's absolutely outstanding!!! The food is delicious. Delightful flavors, perfectly cooked. Try the whole fish and the roasted chicken! Eggplant side is to die for! Everything rocks and Rasheed is the most gracious host.“
“The food is so good. This was my first time trying this place and I will definitely be back regularly. The restaurant is larger than it looks from outside, there is plenty of seating and parking was not a problem. I ordered the chicken shawarma platter and the baklava cheesecake. Do yourself a favor and order 2 of the baklava cheesecakes. I regretted only ordering one when I got home.“
“This cool vibe place is friendly, and well staffed with an open style kitchen. Creative menu with ingredients applied tactfully with an appropriate touch. Smaller plates are perfect portions and served at an enjoyable pace.Def worth stopping in.“
“The food is delicious! I had the shrimp tacos and my daughter had the chicken tacos. We sat and ate on the old bank steps next to the cart. It was so yummy, we ordered another two orders to go! Open late on Monday night at midnight. Not sure what time they actually close.“
“Amazing food and polite staff, and a really lively atmosphere. I had a great hangover chicken and waffles (which was personally enjoyably much sweeter than usual at other restaurants, but you do get self serve syrup). However, I think choosing this dish over others here would be doing the restaurant a disservice. It was obvious that with only like three sweet dishes, you should just get their actual food.I’ll be back if I’m in town.“
“Irwin’s is an Italian restaurant located inside Bok Building, which was an old school revitalized as an artsy complex space. From the school desks to the chairs, the vintage furnishings of Irwin’s give a nostalgic vibe.*Shallot and Thyme Focaccia **They change the housemade foccacia flavor regularly. Glad that we got to try the shallot and thyme one. The bread dough was pillowy with a shiny brown surface, while not feeling oily at all. The sweetness from the caramelized shallot and the herby fragrance from thyme made a harmonious flavor duet.*1/2 Agrodolce Chicken**SERIOUSLY how could they make the chicken (even the chicken breast!) so tender and juicy? Also can we talk about the gremolata? It was fantastic as a dish itself, and add extra textures and tangy flavors if you spread it over the meat.*Trofie (half)We know their carbs wouldn’t be as amazing as their proteins but we still wanted to try. The pasta was cooked to al dente. The mushroom truffle flavor was exactly what you could easily imagine. Nothing mindblowing here.*Milk & Honey GelatoWe picked this right away because I saw it had “pistachio”. The honey was very sweet, but premium in flavor. My cravings was fully satisfied as they didn’t skimp on the crushed pistachios on top. Lowkey wished that the gelato melted a bit slower.“
“wow, I just discovered this hidden gem right off temple campus and with one visit it’s already my favorite restaurant in Philly, the food was so amazingly flavorful and I love the vegetarian options. The service was phenomenal, I felt like I was at a 5 star restaurant. The boy with the Afro was extremely nice and made sure I knew of ALL of my options and even helped me get $2 off my order since it was my first time. I highly recommend this spot to anyone who wants to grab a bite to eat and do some work or have a nice catch up with friends. The environment and food are top tier.“
“Some of the nicest people around and all the food I have ever had from here has been really good. The prices are fair especially considering its location. Things can be extra expensive in this area just because but not this placeParking: Metered spots available and a couple of loading zones near by“
“Super pleased with this dining experience. Very friendly people who care. Prices are low considering the fresh food. We had the tasty hummus and the Mediterranean chicken salad which was delicious and plentiful. Easy to customize the salad with ingredients you want. Good meals for 2 people under $20.Vegetarian options: Plenty of options.“
“Freakin AMAZING!!! I love this place gonna stop at the mall just to eat here! This is an amazing experience please give it a try the falafel sandwich on pita is great SOOOO good that I'm getting an order of lamb biryani to go Im told its very spicy so I'm gonna LOVE it cause the hot sauce on the falafel was great too!“
“The food is real authentic Egyptian exactly like what you would eat in Egypt. We tried Mahshi, Kushari, grilled chicken, Hawawshi, Pot Kebab, and Shawirma. It is easily the best Shawerma we have eaten in Philly so far. Mahshi is like no other place, real and authentic. Kushari is real and authentic. Pot Kebab is amazing if you like strong flavored lamb meat. Juice is fresh and refreshing. The servers really care about the food quality.Atmosphere is fine and street parking is usually available.“
“We are so incredibly lucky to live less than a 10min walk from West Passyunk to Stina. The food, staff and space are a perfectly balanced blend with so much love, care and attention to detail put into each dish. Order everything… Stina forever! 5⭐️“
