“When I saw how affordable this spot was, I wasn’t expecting to be wow’d by the food but oh my goodness it was good! I got the chicken chow mein, pork dumplings in chili oil and the crunchy spicy cucumber. The heat levels were perfect (I got medium for the chow mein and dumplings, and the recommended level for the salad). I could still taste all the flavors but my mouth was coated perfectly in sichuan. The balance of sweetness and aromatics in everything - especially the pork dumplings - was delicious.

The staff was friendly, the wait time was short, the food was fresh.

“This is definitely one of the better Chinese restaurants I’ve been to. The food itself was delicious and high-quality. One thing I noticed, however, is that there seems to be a slight difference between the menu offered to Chinese patrons and non-Chinese guests. I saw some people ordering dishes that weren't on the standard menu—I’m not quite sure what they were, but everything looked authentic and tasted great. If you're looking for solid Chinese cuisine, this place is definitely worth a visit.“

“Made reservations at 7pm at loch bar for my sister’s birthday. I got there first and since my sister was a few minutes away, the host couldn’t seat me without her. My sister arrived at 7:05pm and the host informed us that it was busy therefore we would have to wait at the bar until there is a table available. I’m not sure what is the point of a reservation, if you won’t be seated right away. The bartender was really nice and welcoming. 20 minutes later, there was an open table. The appetizers were delicious especially the mussels!!!! The caviar and potato skin were sooo good as well. The oysters were fresh & cold just how I like it. I ordered shots of clase azul for my sister’s bday and we decided to do a bump of caviar & a shot of clase azul. It was a great combo! Thank me later.“

“This was the best Cambodian spot I’ve been to. It was tucked away in a small street and looked like a local spot. I’m not from Philly so I was skeptical of it at first, especially with so little reviews.

It was so good. Best spring rolls I’ve ever had. And the broth was clean and delicious. My toddler loved it too. I got 2 #2 and spring roll and it was only ~$30. I will def go again and recommend it to my family and friends.“

“I was looking for roast crispy duck. I didn't want to go to Chinatown because its gotten rundown, yucky traffic, expensive parking and horrible SEPTA. I decided to stay in my neighborhood so I could walk. I worried about it being expensive. Chestnut Hill is high end and the restaurant looked pricey. What a WONDERFUL SURPRISE! I was a solo table but still treated like a queen with lots of servers checking in, giving water and smiling. The roast duck in black bean sauce on the cast iron plate was SCRUMPTIOUS. It comes with a healthy side of white rice and delicate, flavorful bok choi. The skin was crispy yet NOT oily or greasy. The CHUNKS of tender duck meat were excellent. The sauce was thick, savory and yummy. FOODGASM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The portion was so healthy that I was able to take a container home for lunch the next day. Then I ordered the Mudslide ice cream pie for dessert. PERFECTION. Dense, creamy, sweet but not cloying with nut accents, fresh strawberries and cream as garnish. Cool treat on a humid Summer night. When the bill came, I was shocked that it was less than $40. I did not order a cocktail because I wanted to concentrate on the food. I gave them a big tip and said I am absolutely returning. I am also addicted to their spring rolls too. Two perfect crunchy flaky rolls filled with a balanced combination of shrimp, cheese, and cabbage that you can dip in duck sauce or mustard or just enjoy plain.“

Typical Chinese takeout spot with a pretty standard menu. They have a great lunch deal during the week where you get an entree and either a soup or soda for like $10.

I’ve tried a bunch of things here and have never been disappointed. Portions are a good size and I usually have leftovers.“

Full of locals. Bring headphones if you're easily triggered: a dude answered two calls while I was there, and when he wasn't talking on the phone, he was endlessly on the TikTok. When he left, it was blessedly quiet except for noodle slurps.

Quick service. Last I was here, the server was busy. When she had a moment, I left my seat to pay her early. When I got back to my table, my bowl was gone. :( On the bright side, there was very little left, but I was hoping to savor it... :D

Me and my husband were looking for crispy duck. We ended up getting the “roast duck (Hong Kong style). It was a huge amount for $20!!! Lots of juicy tender duck meat with crispy skin in a sauce that was delicious. We also had the shrimp dumplings (8 but I had already eaten 3) where you could actually detect lots of shrimp, no mystery seafood filler. My husband ordered a side of fried rice. The whole meal was outstanding, delicious and at a great price.“
