“Pearl Chinese & Japanese Cuisine location on North Lansdowne Ave has good employees that provide good food that is made with care. While I visited in April 2026, Dine in tables were just available in one room near the chefs cutting board station. The small dinning room is in this reviews pictures for customers to see. The other main dining room was blocked off. Keep up the good work on To-Go orders quick pick up times. Their location reminds me of a normal house. Especially when you walk in and straight ahead is stairs going up like a house. Good Luck in 2026 & Beyond.“

“The Tofu dishes are excellent. They make the Tofu well-done crispy which we really enjoy. The Vegetable LoMein is a favorite, always packed full and with a very subtle smoky flavor that makes it better than anywhere else. The scallion pancake/Chinese pizza is crisp and flavorful. Consistently spot-on and yummy!“

“With outstanding quality and impeccable consistency, South Sichuan is a “No Miss” chinese restaurant with a great variety of spices and flavors. The freshness of their food will make it very hard to return to your neighborhood chinese takeout spot, and it is evidenced even in their side servings of white rice. This restaurant absolutely deserves its ratings.“

“Made reservations at 7pm at loch bar for my sister’s birthday. I got there first and since my sister was a few minutes away, the host couldn’t seat me without her. My sister arrived at 7:05pm and the host informed us that it was busy therefore we would have to wait at the bar until there is a table available. I’m not sure what is the point of a reservation, if you won’t be seated right away. The bartender was really nice and welcoming. 20 minutes later, there was an open table. The appetizers were delicious especially the mussels!!!! The caviar and potato skin were sooo good as well. The oysters were fresh & cold just how I like it. I ordered shots of clase azul for my sister’s bday and we decided to do a bump of caviar & a shot of clase azul. It was a great combo! Thank me later.“

“I liked the interior, and service was friendly and quick. I liked the fried dumplings and cucumber salad. I wouldn't say the main dish was great though. I got stir fried rice with chicken and I couldn't finish it since it was a bit too greasy and i asked for a box. The photo shows the remaining oil from the leftovers.
I think it was a nice place to eat at and I'll most likely give it another chance.“

“CASH ONLY. They have an ATM on site though.
This place is great!
Typical Chinese takeout spot with a pretty standard menu. They have a great lunch deal during the week where you get an entree and either a soup or soda for like $10.
I’ve tried a bunch of things here and have never been disappointed. Portions are a good size and I usually have leftovers.“

“They have so many options for vegetarians/vegans! The veggie dumplings were nice and I’m looking forward to try more dishes like orange tofu while I’m at Temple. Great option for late night eats. The place is clean and relatively easy to find healthy options!“

“Excellent food and very reasonable price compared to other Chinatown dim sum restaurants. The food is self-serve: you grab a tray and go pick what you want and bring it to your table on your own. Staff take away your used trays and empty dishes.“

“Elegant interior, tailored menu and combos.
Order upfront and served takeout style so easy to go, but portions should be just enough for a meal. Appreciate drink sizes seem like a large.
Best is the like new and clean seating and marble tables and restrooms.
Price seems high to reflect so enjoy a pleasant and cozy seating, at least not too busy on weekend brunch.“

“This local restaurant features authentic Xi'an-style noodles and traditional Chinese dim sums, showcasing a rich culinary heritage. I especially enjoy the belt-thick Biangbiang noodles, handcrafted daily by skilled chefs and served with a hearty, savory meat sauce that highlights their al dente texture. The hot sour soup they offer, brewed with a delicate balance of vinegar and white pepper, is regarded as the best in town, offering a tangy complement to the other dishes. Although the restaurant has been modestly remodeled, with simple decor and practical furnishings, it maintains high standards of cleanliness and warm hospitality, creating a welcoming dining atmosphere.“

“All the rave reviews are true! I visited with a friend from out of town and we had a feast of our favorites. Nearly everything on the menu is vegan, and it was hard to choose! The lunch special is a fantastic value and includes soup and a spring roll. We chose the miso soup, which we agreed is the most flavorful we've ever had. The staff are friendly and really helpful, and the food came out really fast - truly cooked to order. And, as if that weren't enough, the prices are incredibly reasonable. 10/10. I can't wait to go back!“

“I was looking for roast crispy duck. I didn't want to go to Chinatown because its gotten rundown, yucky traffic, expensive parking and horrible SEPTA. I decided to stay in my neighborhood so I could walk. I worried about it being expensive. Chestnut Hill is high end and the restaurant looked pricey. What a WONDERFUL SURPRISE! I was a solo table but still treated like a queen with lots of servers checking in, giving water and smiling. The roast duck in black bean sauce on the cast iron plate was SCRUMPTIOUS. It comes with a healthy side of white rice and delicate, flavorful bok choi. The skin was crispy yet NOT oily or greasy. The CHUNKS of tender duck meat were excellent. The sauce was thick, savory and yummy. FOODGASM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The portion was so healthy that I was able to take a container home for lunch the next day. Then I ordered the Mudslide ice cream pie for dessert. PERFECTION. Dense, creamy, sweet but not cloying with nut accents, fresh strawberries and cream as garnish. Cool treat on a humid Summer night. When the bill came, I was shocked that it was less than $40. I did not order a cocktail because I wanted to concentrate on the food. I gave them a big tip and said I am absolutely returning. I am also addicted to their spring rolls too. Two perfect crunchy flaky rolls filled with a balanced combination of shrimp, cheese, and cabbage that you can dip in duck sauce or mustard or just enjoy plain.“

“For those who grew up in Cantonese households all know what “熱氣 (yit hei)” is all about lol.
What first caught my eye was the name: “Heung Fa Chun” (杏花邨) is actually the name of a real housing estate in Hong Kong, which instantly gave me a sense of authenticity.
They serve all kinds of nostalgic HK style snacks, from steamed buns and zongzi to traditional pastries and desserts. A true hole-in-the-wall gem in Philly Chinatown.
I was feeling a bit “yit hei” (literally “hot air” in Cantonese), so I grabbed myself a 龜苓膏 (herbal jelly/gui ling gao, aka “turtle jelly”). It's one of the go-to remedies for combatting yit hei. If you’re feeling yit hei, like breaking out, getting sore throats, or even indigestion, you need to eat some gwai ling go.
I was quite surprised to find it here. My mom would be so proud I got it without her having to tell me.
Warning: it’s VERY bitter if you eat it on its own. Definitely add the syrup to turn it into a healthy sweet trea.“

“Comforting meal for an affordable price. Loved how efficient the ordering process was and how fast the food came out. Piping hot and delicious
Not pictured in this are the rice rolls my friends ordered. As others have mentioned, they are on the thicker, more chewier side. Personally I like mine silkier so it wasn’t for me, but it was still enjoyable“

“I ordered twice from them through Uber Eats and the food is fantastic! The first time I had fried rice, bbq spare rib tips, blue lemonade, and cheesesteak roll. This time I had regular lemonade with young chow fried rice. I sprinkled soy sauce on it in the picture, but trust me, it didn’t need it, it’s good on its own and I was just being extra lol. They’re officially my favorite Chinese food spot. They’re flavorful, consistent, and always piping hot!“

“My favorite restaurant in Philly Chinatown. Good food, efficient, friendly staff, BYOB, great value for money... it has everything going to be a great hole-in-the-wall restaurant. The lamb noodle soup, chongqing spicy chicken, grean beans, shredded potato are my favorite.“

“I had such a good experience here. The broth was genuinely flavorful — not watered down or overly salty like some places. We did a split pot and both sides stayed rich the whole time. The spicy broth actually had depth to it instead of just heat, which I really appreciated.
The ingredient quality stood out the most. The meat was thinly sliced and fresh, not frozen-tasting, and the vegetables looked crisp and clean. Their sauce bar was also surprisingly good — lots of options, and everything tasted fresh. I liked being able to mix my own without it feeling messy or picked-over.“

“Hmm... pleasantly surprised. I've lived in Lansdowne for 23 years and I really didn't even know it was there. The other Chinese place in Lansdowne is dirty and gross, so I'd been going to Drexel Hill for CJ Wok. Which was my plan this evening, but I was at the light on Marshall road and saw a woman cleaning the front door of Hong Kong Kitchen. Decided to order from there. The Shrimp and Snow Peas were pretty good, as was the hot and sour soup. I'm going to try this place again and order different things.... and I may be increasing this to a 5 star review.“
